Bear seemed nervous and shy at first, then started to feel comfortable. This guy is unbelievably awesome, and I have much respect for him. He does some extraordinary things out there, and has tremendous knowledge of nature.
climbing everest and flying above it are 2 very remarkably brave and hard things to do. With Bear anything is possible and thats just awe inspiring for me.. what a legend!
i treasure jonathan ross, he's such a great interview and has genuine interest in people from all walks of life. He asks all the questions I'd like to know. Gragham norton had bear on recently and while it was entertaining i learnt nothing about bear.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!"
People talk about faking the shows etc etc. But at the end of the day he still eats crazy stuff, contronts dangerous animals and climbs and rappels huge mountains. So for that you've got to respect him.
yea i understand they are 2 different things i think people think they are alike when it comes to the wildlife scenarios like if BG encounters a croc, he would be compared to steve on how he narrates and gives us info on the animal. little things like that people compare him too i think. steve irwin had soooo much enthusiasm thats what i really liked about him, he has soo much energy to talk about the smallest ant to the biggest crocodile legend r.i.p
I can understand why people might dislike him because some of his TV shows are dramatised, but for those people thinking hes not for real, and not a hardcore expert, you're just plain wrong,
Bear Grylls ate every single insect in the book, survived over more than 30 islands and different regions that are inhospitable to survive in, he is by far better than Chuck Norris by a million!
Anyway, yeah Bear Grylls is awesome. He's achieved more than most of us could hope to achieve in alifetime. He's a nice guy and hos shows are great, I find them really funny actually! Good luck Bear!!
I said he was qualified to. He had already done the training when he was younger. He came back to do it again for his show. S.A.S and Foreign Legion certified.
Oh well, it looks like somebody edited his wikipedia article the other day to include 'Bear' as one of his middle names and it's been changed back now.
@Aydee2020 lol, no its definitely not traditional english stuff. theres four of them including the pianist and they are known as the four puffs and a piano. They play little songs on the show for each guest every week. To be honest they're probably closest to barbershop quartet style which i believe is American.
My opinion of bear has changed a bit actually, after watching more of his shows. He's clearly a great guy and works hard on the shows, and I think a lot of the fake stuff comes from the production company. Most people probably don't understand that a presenter doesn't call the shots on his kind of show - he is largely told where to go and what to do, and he films from the point of view of trying to instruct - not trying to prove himself. I'm a former bear-hater, and I say good on him.
@LondonPride25 21 and 23 are Territorial Army, part time and undertake the same training as a 22 SAS soldier, but over a longer period. But as it's such a big commitment it might as well be full time!
