There are tens of thousands of people with mental illness who are locked up like this in many countries...we are cruel to our own species also. You could feel his sheer delight on leaping into the pool. I felt happy with him! 😊
I will NEVER understand how people can do this to animals, NEVER. The innocence of these creatures is something that must be protected and I don't understand how anybody in the world can disagree with that
I totally agree with you. It only takes a little bit of compassion and empathy to know this is wrong. Apparently some people are born without it, otherwise they wouldn't do this to animals.
He is so amazed. He keeps on looking around as if he just cannot believe his eyes. I am so grateful fhat he has been rescued from that jail cell he had to live in.
It's a bigger Cage. But he has grass and can enjoy the sun. And even a swimming pool... I don't think that he would survive in the wilderness anymore. He will have a good life now.
I was able to not cry until about 5 seconds after he got in the water. You can see in his face that he doesn’t understand how something good could happen to him. I’m sure he was crying too. 😢
Brown bears live on average 35 years so Rocco has almost 30 years of freedom ahead of him if all goes well. May God bless him with a long and happy life. Hopefully he'll meet a mate there at Barenwald and have cubs.
It amazes me how cruel people can be to animals. We just don’t deserve them. I’m so happy for Rocco and hopes he has a long life enjoying his new freedom.
I live in Albania and I've meet him before and I used to feel bad for him. When I learned that someone took him i thought he went to a zoo. Seeing this now makes me so happy :D
That whole area of the world is disgusting. Sometimes they run a thin wire or strong thread through their nostrils and force them stand up and dance to get a few kopecks from the local idiots. No laws against it!
@@Sedona-cl6eg Uhhh. Okay. Wanna hear some western stories? How about the Spaniards slowly killing bulls with spears, how is that humane? Hunting with dogs (galagos) and then shooting them when the hunting season is over because they are useless. How about aristocratic Brits hunting and killing foxes because it's a gentleman's sport? Dog racing is a "great" activity as well, perhaps you should read up on what happens to the greyhounds there. How about all those horses slaughtered in Italy because they like horse meat? Wanna see some videos? It's not the region of the world, no. It's hypocritical to say that. It's nice that the Germans are saving bears, too bad they also illegally killed a European bison that strayed too far and crossed their border because they didn't want to bother with catching it. A protected species, miraculously saved from extinction. Every nation on Earth has done some dark deeds so don't divide them into the savages and the civilised.
@@mikshinee87the Middle East where I come from is even worse. Stray dogs injected with poison. Guard dogs have their ears and tails trimmed as puppies and chained in the dark so they’d become feral. I personally saw a dog tied to a tree where a hose constantly spewed water on it. People all over the world are disgusting. 😞
And watching all around the landscape he can explore. His mind was clearly rushing to take that all in. Making the pool his safety zone. Yet his mouth was so active when he pondered his options.
OMGOSH I am crying like a baby at that part when I saw the look on his face and just the happiness and joy I could feel, I just started bawling my goodness LOL I'm so happy for that damn bear lol🙂👍
Almost? Know what you mean. So happy to see him enjoying being a bear. Maybe he was wondering if friends and family were around, hoping for mom to be there, or a big bear hug from Dad. Anyway, happy he can be more where he can belong.
@@TheBullyMomma To me, cruelty to animals is unforgivable. Cowardice. Animals depend on us and exactly this fact bring us more responsability. More power, more responsability. Let's fight for these ideas.
God put us here to be good stewards of this planet, and the things on it...We have done a poor, if not failed at th I task. It's great to see that some still have that inner sense, and not just for the paycheck. From a lone person across the big water, thank you to you, and others just like you, and to the individuals who do it on their own. A big thank you, and a big bear hug, a fox hug, a dog hug, a cat hug, oh well, big hugs all around. Thank you.
No, you didn’t literally hear a bear talk. You might have figuratively, but to literally hear a bear speak is impossible. Sorry, I just hate how most people use that word so incorrectly.
Brought tears to my eyes to see the amazement on his face in his new enclosure full of enrichement😍Shame on people who think its ok to keep any animal caged up like that!!😠
Yea, I saw that too. It reminds me of when I get a new betta fish(they only live few yrs) taking th poor thing from a fishbowl 4 inches across t a five gallon tank w plants and filtration. They always look around like they can't believe it, just like th bear did.
I love his reaction! It’s like he’s looking all around, and saying “this is all for me? All this grass is mine? This water pit is mine, too?? How can this be?” 😂🤣 Oh, Rocco you deserve it big guy! God Bless these kind and caring people! If Rocco could, I’m sure he’d give you each a big Bear hug!!!🥰😉☺️
I had the same feeling, especially when he partly gets out and looks around, it's almost as if disbelief, then he realizes it is and at that moment, he was the happiest bear on this planet.
I know. I can't imagine robbing him of 8 long years. It doesn't seem to have caused any mental derangement,, thank God. Animals don't deserve the things humans do to them, yet, much like some dogs and cats, they are able to forget. It's sad, he must have been so bored and worse, lonely! I'm hoping he'll be well cared for now for the rest of his life. And they find him a friend.
Omg this is so heartbreaking and heartwarming. He was in a prison for 8 years and then wonderful humans came along and his whole world changed. He looks so happy. Enjoy the best life Rocco.
I wish that there was more money to support more laws so the people who did that would be imprisoned! Hopefully they would do more time than that poor defenseless animal.
Bootzz28 gvgs3211 absolutely, thank god for the good people. It's just a shame there're not more of them. Wildlife would be infinitely better off without us. We're in the middle of perhaps the biggest mass extinction the planet has known, totally due to humans, nothing else.
But first he had to endure an even smaller cage in the back of a moving vehicle, and I know it was only a couple of days, but can you imagine how terrifying it must have been for those couple of days? Poor thing...but he’s happy now ❤️
It brings tears to the eyes. Just watching him taking in his new world and not quite believing his sudden freedom. Poor old thing! How do people do that to living creatures.
@@PresentMoment111 No he dont, because its the lifecycle even animals eat some kind of meat. There is a lot of nutrition in meat. That it is nutritious means that it has a high content of nutrients that the body needs, such as protein, iron, vitamin B12, zinc and selenium.
@@lllIIllIIllllII Wrong....just no. Humans have not evolved to eat meat, it gives us cancer, and heart disease. B12 is artificially added to meat, it doesnt actually contain it. We have zero need to eat animals, but omnivores and carnivores do. Therefore, we shouldn't be farming them. It also destroys the planet. Besides, plant foods are waaay more nutrient dense.
@@powderthumb5959 No, it's in northern Germany (as mentioned and shown in this video), but I think I know what you mean: Iowa and many other large parts of the USA are certainly far more of a paradise than our densely populated Germany.
This is one of the most beautiful videos on RU-vid. The wonder on the bear's face is deeply moving. Bravo to the rescuers! I could watch this every day. This is what we're supposed to do on this earth, for both animals and people. We're supposed to take care of each other.
Can you imagine feeling grass under your paws and a pool of water for the very first time? He'll never have to lick bars again! God bless his rescuers.
I agree, but like some people, you can't turn your back on them, but with animals if that happens it was a natural intention. No ma!ice involved. When people do it, it shows a deep rooted evil that can be suppressed by a concience that is mindfull of other people's feelings and stops it dead.
Wow amazing that he is still normal and sane after so many years of cruel torture. He seems to have it all pretty much together and should be able to overcome the horrors. Good luck Rocco and thank you to his rescuers.
Roro Mil U right, enclosed but not caged, w/plenty room to roam around + 2b well taken care of. After being caged 8 years, he wouldn’t survive in the wilderness, as he most likely lost ability to hunt and fight other bears.
That broke my heart. I can't help but think of all the wild animals who are still in cages like that. Humans don't deserve this beautiful, majestical, perfect planet.
If I could go back in my life, I would love to be involved in rescues such as this. It makes my heart so happy to see the bear leap in the water, he was enjoying it sooo much. Water is very healing. Thank you ALL for helping get him to safety, and a free, healthy, peaceful life.
I am not physically able to do rescue work. (Old crock) I do however donate monthly to Four Paws International because this is the type of work they do. They have a big cat sanctuary here in South Africa and I saw a video a while back were a lion was rescued with the help of the Born Free Foundation. That is another group one could support to help these abused animals.
Rocco is now a really happy Bear...He deserved it absolutely...Thank you Guys for rescueing him...RESPECT...God bless you all...And God bless Rocco, that he can enjoy his new life for a lot of years...Cheers from Switzerland
When Rocco ran outside you could see the happiness and the joy, he look like he was smiling and I busted out with tears laughing. God bless you people for saving this precious precious God's Creation.
Happy tears. These soulless people need to be charged with animal abuse. Wonderful to watch his reaction when entering into his first real home...to actually swim and drink water and touch grass. 😊💜😊
That sweet bear always knew where he belonged. You can tell he feels like home. Thank you to any person who helps animals in any way you are able. They need us out there! ❤
God ? Which God? The Creater of mankind, the bullfighter, Barnum and Bailey, the whaler ? Thomas Alva Edison and his direct current show with a chained elephant?
heart breaking and heart warming at the same time. Rocco's face when he plunged into the water just said it all. He just couldn't believe that humans that had been so cruel to him could do this for him.
The look on his face as he looked up and around... he could barely comprehend his luck... He didn't even know he was at a water pool.l! I will always remember this bears video...💜 Thank you✌️
Awwww...did you see the happiness?? The way he looked at the sky and everywhere else?? and that plunge to the pool!! My heart broke into thousands pieces from sadness and happiness at the same time! THANK YOU for his rescue!! and a beautiful video documenting it! xoxoxoxox......
This is one of the saddest Dodo reports I’ve ever seen. This poor bear was in a cage for 8 years-good God. It’s so wonderful he’s saved now, but the thought of how long he was caged is absolutely heartbreaking and horrifying.
But since we can't turn back time we focus on Rocco living a life that includes a little payback for 8 bad years. Good food, health care, room to stretch the legs & grow old, fat & (hopefully) happy! Hey keepers, how about a girlfriend!? 😀
I know right? Theres been countless studies on segregation, incarceration and solitary confinement. Granted most of it has been with humans but there has been animal testing as well and the results mirror one and other. It always leads to psychological harm and has been considered torture for quite sometime. Sure bears are solitary animals but not entirely and completely by choice. 8 YEARS! Is a ridiculously long time to be locked up. Especially for a bear, thats not an insignificant amount of their lifespan. Whoever is at fault should be locked up for 8 years in kind.
@@ivot1761 ikr? Oh whats that, you can fly? Too bad, I like your pretty feathers and song. Heres a lil pole to sit on and a tiny cup of seed in a little container. Have a nice life. Let's hope I don't get bored with you.👿
It makes me cry to think of any animal stuck in a cage for so many years. It brings more tears to my eyes when i see them being released in a sanctuary with all the freedom to run and finally bring happiness into their lives. God bless everyone who helped to make this possible💖💖💖
Thank you The Dodo crew for finding your Purpose of rescuing animals, both big and small ones, giving them Freedom and Life. May you all continue to be protected on your beautiful journey of unconditional love.
Woo! That made me ugly cry when I saw him walking around the yard in the grass, and especially when he was playing in the pool. Beautiful! I was crying and smiling at the same time. I'm so glad that they rescued him. I would have liked to have seen how they got him out of the cage, but I am just glad that he is out of it now, & in the 🐻 sanctuary. May God bless Rocco and his rescuers. Thank you for sharing, The Dodo! Love you and your positive animal videos. They make my day!
Poor baby! I am overwhelmed with emotion about this. It is abhorrent how some people treat animals. And beautifully wonderful how some people save them from their hell of a life and provide them a 2nd chance at a happy healthy forever after.... Thank you so much!!
OMG... the expression on his face!!! It was heartbreaking and thrilling to watch him try to take it all in and being amazed by it all. Poor Rocco. He must have thought he was dreaming. May he enjoy the rest of his days there.
What sue said. Also Gary if a bear mauls someones face it is always human error and or a setup catastrophe. In this case the bear being held in captivity puts bears and humans in the same space. Now assuming this sanctuary operates well humans will never have direct contact with the bear and never be in their cages at the same time with the bear. If they don't follow that procedure then anything that happens is human error. If bears are in the wild and humans stay away from them then the chances of a mauling drop to almost near zero. Grizzly man decided to mess with the bears with impunity in bear country, he became dinner. Good for the bear and good for a first class Darwin award.
@Gary.F. yyyyyyyea.... you mean the bears who "maul people's faces off" who were trying to handfeed them in the wild, take a selfie in the wild, pet them in the wild, etc. how does it feel to be a stupid individual? Pretty stupid, i'm guessing. haha!
Yeah, I have a feeling this was a doctored video. You see him in cage. Then you see him roaming in his new enclose. Where is the part he is released? They take the trouble and actually forget to film the part where he actually gets his freedom.
@@strineys.957 are you people watching the video???? at 2;18 he is in the cage.. At 2:19, he is roaming the enclose....there is no footage of him walking out of the cage. NONE> It was edited or doctored. anyone can see that.
I knew bears can look cute but NOT adorable!!! Rocco is so ADORABLE!! You can totally tell he is happy. No bear should live in a cage in someone's backyard they're meant to be FREE!!
This video made me cry. 😢 You could see how happy Rocco was in the new natural environment. He looked like he was smiling. He really enjoyed that pool too. Must have been a real treat. Thanks rescuers for giving him a better life.
