I don't like having facial hair. I wish we had never evolved with it. It's OK when it's stubble, but when it grows out beyond that it's irritating. Always feels like I have crumbs on my face that I need to wipe off. If I had you shaving me everyday though, I'd be GLAD I had that problem! You make EVERYTHING nicer! Thanks for the fantasy Diane. i think what sold "the hair parlour" was the introduction, in the first video. The hopes and dreams of the hairdresser, opening her business on the edwardian era, made us simphatize and empathize with her. how could u not relate to someone who is going after her dreams, trying something new and kinda against the mainstream?its just perfect
Getting us all invested in the plot. I'm looking forward to the episode where she's kneeling in the pouring rain, scissors in hand, screaming at the sky (softly of course).
I'm the opposite. I wasn't fond of it, it felt like manipulating us into appreciating a plot instead of the sounds and ambience. I watch asmr to relax and unwind or as background sounds during worm, and then I'm bombarded with a novella and always thinking about the character's position/ motivations instead of being the neutral POV. It could be my retail self not being able to relax around customers, it could be overthinking strikes again. But for now I appreciate asmr where I am not following a protagonist, or am just listening to the sounds instead of being expected to followalong and keep up.
@@Undomaranel thats totally fine, different people watch asmr for different reasons, some people will like the "telenovela" part of it, and some dont. I totally understand your point, and i also think that the video has the two things in them, narrative aand good triggers, so everyone can enjoy it, i guess.
You've really changed the game. Nobody else does asmr this well, nobody else has sets this good, nobody else puts this much effort into it and it shows. Anyone can get a mic and start speaking softly or whispering into it, but true asmr takes talent and care and a deep understanding of the craft. This is the A+ standard, and you're sitting atop the highest pedestal as the only one to achieve such perfection!
If you enjoy more elaborate asmr videos, I recommend Goodnight Moon! Her work is on par to Moonlight. She has a whole storyline going for a fantasy setting with multiple costumed characters and physical sets. She also has an ongoing 1920s series.
You're absolutely right. The bar is higher with Diana on board. I can't even look at low effort videos anymore, maybe for a bit but deep down I know they could be better.
This isn't even about Asmr anymore. It's unbelievable how talented you are. The set, costumes, the music, everything is perfect and it's like watching a beautiful period movie. Full disclosure: I had never even heard about Asmr before looking for Harry Potter fan made videos and watching your Ollivander one by chance. Now I am spoiled and all other Asmr clips look bland to me. Thank you for your dedication and for all your wonderful pieces of art. Kudos from Italy.
For a spoiled one I'd also recommend you Goodnight moon. She has some basic asmr roleplays but also a fantasy world of her own with beautiful sets and costumes as well. A bunch of witches fairies and other creatures. It's absolutely amazing.
Me, happily envisioning myself as a bearded lady, because I can't NOT experience the new Moonlight Cottage video... "You are here for a new beard style, correct?" Me: *stroking my imaginary beard* "Why yes, yes I am..." Very relaxed bearded lady over here...😂❤️
I kinda wish somebody would open up a shop like this, honestly. Maybe make things authentic? Maybe make them steampunk? There's a lot you could do with modern tech, especially with the hair care knowledge we now have.

I never liked all the whispering from all the other people. So imagine my most pleasant surprise when I first heard this beautiful woman with such a soothing and lovely accent actually speak. I think that’s what I love so much about these period roleplays: how inclusive they are. There isn’t a particular gender assigned to either style session, so it’s really up to the listener to decide. I for one definitely enjoyed getting my beard groomed! 🧔🏻♀️

Being a hairdresser myself I love seeing the antique clippers! I've only seen a few like that in person but they're so neat. The amount of detail you put into these is phenomenal.
Setting, wardrobe, tools/items, sounds (door, outside sounds, and the sound of the beard being "touched"), ever single thing gives it such an authentic feel. So relaxing. To be honest, before sleeping, I watch it once, then play it again to relax and sleep. It's just that relaxing.
Right? I never liked the role play ASMR but I’ve never been able to feel this immersed, it hardly feels like listening to ASMR. I close my eyes and I am THERE.

One of the parts I personally love most about your videos are those tiny bits where you prepare/rummage through and touch the items in the video along with some inaudible whispers! They're super tingly and satisfying to watch, if you could make a compilation of those in one video I can finally die happily

This is artistry beyond anything I’ve seen for Asmr. I’m guessing you must have a connection to a movie studio to be able to create such an elaborate set with all these period correct props, no average RU-vidr has this kind of quality. If they we’re giving out Oscars for ASMR or set design, acting..etc you would have a shelf full of them. Very very impressed!
