I don't own any exotic animals but ill still sign the petition for Kristen to open her own exotic pet vet/hospital and employ her own vets who she trusts 💯💯
Okay did you see that on my story or are we the same person? LOL I postd a while ago that I wanted to open a vet and pet store that shared a wall and were right next to eachother. I was considering going to school to be a vet, but damn it takes four years. I wish there were more exotic vets around that knew their stuff!!
It is so sad to see how he's been kind of beaten up and not really neglected but not properly care for 130% by the first family it's just really sad and heartbreaking to see that this guy's going through all this and you're correct I believe a 92 gallon tank is probably the size That's what I have mines in
How cute is Nubz?? I have so many animal videos to make that live on a list... LOL I can't wait to get back into the rhythym. We'll see how it goes with baby! She's due in less than a month!!!
I used to keep parrots.I went through a couple years when I would look in the classified ads expecting to go buy a beautiful bird and when I got there the bird was in terrible condition. Several times I bought them and rehabilitated them.A couple of them were bald and missing most of their feathers and a couple were missing their toes.I tried different things until I found a spray that actually worked ,but it still took a year for the birds to look normal again.I see bald birds all the time on the Internet, but I never say anything, but I know that it does not have to be that way because I was able to rehabilitate a few.
I am really hoping it is NOT cancer. Bc there's nothing we can do about that. I am hoping they are just some sort of cysts. I find it SO ODD the doctor didn't want to biopsy them. I wonder if the lady who had him declined it bc of cost and just didn't tell me. We'll see. But thank you, he's very loved!
@@KristenLeanneVlog We’re all hoping with you. The only thing that matters now is that he’s not in pain and is giving the care he needs. And we all know that you give your heart and soul to any animal you give shelter. That’s why I love your channel and thank you for being you 🌟. This little dude is in great hands
He’s adorable! It’s tough to think that this is the kind of symptom that could lead to a more serious underlying diagnosis. I’m really hoping it’s treatable. He has a wonderful demeanour and still has so much life left. Best of luck Nubz. We’re all pulling for you. Cheers from Canader eh!
Hi Kristen! About to months ago I had to make the tough decision to put my 3yo male bearded dragon down. He had a tumor that they did biopsy on and claimed to be ‘safe’ and easily removable. In total he got surgery on it 4 times in less than 1 year. The tumor was first located on the elbow of one of his front legs. It got amputated 2 times but it kept growing back very fast and very aggressive. Last time he had surgery on it my vet checked the inside of his belly to see if the tumor didn’t spread and there were no signs of tumor in any other part of his body. This was in September. A little later he went into brumation and lost an extreme amount of weight. In januari I took him back to my vet(which I really trust) and he did and echo and saw that his liver and some other organs looked extremely odd. He still gave me the choice to do another surgery on him and try to remove as much as possible but at this point my own vet told me that there was an extremely little change of him surviving this tumor. I made the decision to euthanize him and my vet agreed with that. He still did autopsy on his body and his complete inside was covered in tumor. (What we expected from the echo. Also his belly was extremely hard and thic in comparison to the rest of his body being underweight.) I really hope this one survives it but I personally haven’t had any great experience with tumors. Good luck 🍀
I'm glad that cutie is going to get the medical care he needs! I am surprised as well that a local anesthetic wasn't used. Whether a biopsy is suggested depends of course on what the doctor suspects that it is, which is largely based off of what each species or breed is predisposed to. It also may not have been done due to the finances of the original owner. Most exotics owners (any even dog/cat) would rather have the growth removed and just wait and see if the problem resolves. I'm also wondering how much experience the original vet has with respiles. Either way, I hope you find some answers so he can live his best life 🥰
You're probably right. I just find that so odd. So if they spend the money to have it removed, which is usually more expensive than a biopsy (in my experience), and it comes back, you're back to square one, you've put the animal through trauma and your money was wasted. Yes I'm hoping the vet can give us some answers soon! XOXO
I’ve Been Rewatching Your Old Videos Like I Usually Do Every Few Months And I Was Like “Wow She Doesn’t Post As Often Anymore” So I Totally Stalked Your Instagram And Seen That You’re A Whole Ass Mom Now ?! That’s Amazing, Congrats 🖤 Time To Rewatch The Old Videos Again 🥹🖤 Also I’m Totally Reading These Comments So I’m Definitely Looking Forward To You Possibly Opening Your Own Clinic Or Rehabilitation Clinic . I’m Currently Going To School For Animal Science So I’ll Definitely Look Forward To Potential Positions !!! Lol Muahh Lots Of Love .
You’re such a wonderful human! You take such good care of your animal babies! I always love watching animal videos on this channel. I learn so much about different animals and you’ve helped me get over my fear of reptiles, so thank you! Much love to you and your new bearded dragon!
@@KristenLeanneVlog YESSS! I recently held a snake and bearded dragon for the first time EVER that a friends neighbor owns. Both such sweet creatures! And me a year ago would be scared shitless to hold them! You just make it look so natural and are so calm. It helped me to remain calm! 🤍
You might not see this but could you do one on a parakeet if you ever get one?! Thank you for rescuing all the other pets though! Can’t wait for your next video!
Poor boy, he is very handsome. Sounds like he has had some traumatic and very painful things happen in his life, I'm glad he still trusts humans. Thanks for sharing with us!
Aww sweet baby! Poor guy I cant imagine why a vet would remove anything from a living being without using any anesthetic..that must have been so painful.
I thought so too. I'm like wait what?? Did the previous owner just not want to pay for it??? SHe said that he didn't seem to be bothered by it I'm like reptiles don't scream, so.. how could we know that? They feel everything!
@@KristenLeanneVlog right?? Just because they cant communicate their pain, doesnt mean they dont feel it! Thats a possibility though. Maybe she told the vet she didnt have alot of money..but even then surely a vet would rather use the numbing agent and not charge rather than hurt an animal.
@@sierradickinson760 Or maybe the vet did it anyway out of his own sense of what is right, but didn't tell her. He couldn't tell her he did that for free because then its always expected. She'll know more when she gets the records.
Hey Kristen, not sure if you’ll see this but I’ve been handed care of a leopard gecko in horrible shape yesterday by a cousins partner. It was either I take her or they continue to let her slowly dwindle away. Her previous owner had no idea what she was doing when it came to husbandry. The leopard gecko has a horrible amount of stuck shed encasing a whole foot with no toes, her other feet are missing practically every toe. Her face is covered in stuck shed and her eyes seem to be glued to the shed. I want to give her the best last years possible but unfortunately I’m not a veterinarian and as fucked up as it is for me to say I can’t afford to take her to the vet, especially in this condition. They’ll most likely charge me an arm and a leg. I have an indescribable love for reptiles and really want to see her get better, if by any chance anyone in the comment section reads this and has any advice or suggestions please leave them. Anything would help, I really am trying to do this right. I have a couple of leopard geckos and a bearded dragon that are really healthy and well raised so I know what I’m doing on that front, rehabilitating one is a whole different story though.
5 years ago I told my husband I wanted a snake he said no and I got one a few weeks later and now own 2 snakes and 2 geckos. Never let a man stop you from doing what you want.
Unfortunately pain medication and biopsies cost money and the owner probably couldn't afford it. When my cat was sick they said we could just do tests no meds to cut cost. I did not cut costs.
My beardy has something like this on her neck and I want to get this checked out she has one on each side of her neck. So I am going to answer your question it's yes.
So I have and I’ve also had a horse with this in there ear and it’s a form of herpes virus (at least in my cases) they they can get from mite bites. We applied a topical cream after freezing them off and it did leave scar tissue but the medication helped prevent flair ups.
Ahhh interesting!! He does have mites we found out. I hope it's something as "simple" as that, and not cancer. Thank you for the info and sharing your situation
It sounds like the previous family didn’t have much money which would explain why the vet removed the lumps without a biopsy since biopsy’s are an added cost. Most likely the woman just asked for the appointment to be as cheap as possible which would also explain why they removed without anesthetics, as those can also be expensive
You are probablly right, I just didn't want to think she would do that. That all just makes me sad. That's not OK to let an animal suffer without proper treatment. Humane is proper to me, but I am glad she did the right thing and rehomed him to me.
@@KristenLeanneVlog I agree. I think a lot of people really feel like they’re helping even if it’s not the most up to standard care. Obviously she cared about him since she ended up giving him to you because she probably knew he’d be able to get the full amount of care he needs
I don't have any personal advice, but would reach out to NERD...I don't know have to tag people in you tube. But it's New England Reptiles, Kevin McCurly. Even reaching out to them if they can't help they will help guide you to someone else. Love Mr.Nubs...hes so freaking adorable 😍
Poor guy. Pet smart sells these things like they’re nothing with all the improper information and say that a 40 gal is good for an adult. I bought a baby from them and spent over $500 on everything and then did research after buying it and had to rehome it. They aren’t as easy as petsmart says. Lost out on $500+ but it’s better than the baby suffering in my care.. x
