I can't wait till it's time for the beans to come in that was always my favorite time of year heading out in the early a.m. while the Dew is on to pull beans we used flat blade just below the surface with three fingers following it the old man said it was better to pull them when the dew was on so the pods didn't crack open and lose the beans and then used a pull behind combine that picked the plants up off the ground in the afternoon or evenings when they were dry again so the combine could separate it better
The plug with the cotter pin is a vent. The cotter pin is loosely fit to rattle around & keep the vent clear. Replacing it with a solid plug will cause pressurization of the gearbox as it becomes hot, forcing gear oil to leak past the seals. I realize this video is 1-1/2 years old, but thought it might be some useful future information. Best of luck
@@boehmfarm4276 I hear you. But you need to figure out something that will allow ventilation without water incursion, so all your hard work isn't in vain. Best of luck............
Without looking and off the top of my head I don't believe our 256 has that cotter pin going through the fill plug, I think its just a solid plug but could be wrong.
we had a 256. i rebuilt that gearbox several times but could'nt get the bottom seal to stop leaking even with 85W. ended up pumping gearbox full of grease.
