I’m glad Davis is getting benched. But don’t make it sound like this guy just decided not to care. His mom died last year and that affects a person (in some people it can be crippling).
That was over a year ago. Eventually you have to get your shit together and stop sucking the life out of everyone around you. And before anyone asks, I've lost parents and siblings in tragic ways, and yes, it's painful. But what I said above is still true.
I didn't know that. Both my parents are in Heaven thanks to Jesus Christ, but there are councilors on every football team to help you get through those issues. 😊
It’s probably better he plays as a depth piece cause of this. Hope he can use the lessened pressure to get himself together and I’m excited to see Kiran get some reps in
I agree with mental health brother. But he still has a job to do. I guess people handle things differently. But man up and play, his mom would have probably wanted him to do so. Example: Brett Favres dad died and the dude threw 4 TDs the day after. The dude sucks on that line period and we need to win games. He gets beat like he stole something
BEAR 🐻 DOWN BABY, FGB, PVO, step 1 benched Davis and then say goodbye, you can only hold his hand so long, Davis is a grown man. Please keep Allen out 1 more week before playing him so he won’t re-injure himself. LET GO BEARS 🐻!!!!
Some people just want to collect a paycheck without working. Davis probably prefers th bench... Has to be tough on th GM, not knowing who has Good Character and a strong work ethic and who doesn't.. Hoping for 2 & 2 this weekend !! Bear Down !!
Clarkherkes thanks for the English class essay some of yall take this stuff to serious Davis will be the scapegoat when team underachieves and continues to get out coached just like Zach Lavine was Bulls scapegoat
Dude lost his love for the game after he lost the love of his life. No amount of money will make him care. He needed to do the honest thing and retire.
Glad they benched Nate Davis his laziness should never pay off. That being said the rest of the OL is still a pile of garbage. So putting in a rookie isn't going to provide a lot of HOPE versus a LA RAMS team that just beat SF despite not having their starting WRs or TE. The RAMS are a legit team that adapts well. And frankly The Bears are adept at nothing right now. Their defense is good NOT great. Their offense is a mess run by a OC who frankly has some "Matt Nagy Syndrome". Which means he likes calling plays for guys who know his system (G.Everett), instead of talent on the roster that have already proven themselves (Kmet, Lewis). Also, Shane Waldron strangley said this week he used Khalil Herbert as a 3rd Down short yardage back. Which is just the oddest thing to admit out loud considering RJ is 4 inches taller & 20 pounds heavier than KH. Roschon Johnson is the power back. That's what he's there for. No wonder the Run Game is non-existent. If Waldron cannot figure this out, then he needs to be fired immediately. Alan Williams resigned quickly in 2023. If Eberflus wants to keep his job, he might have to drop Waldron in swifter (pun intended) fashion.
Nate fell off after his family member passed away. Also, those run block stats from the titans had more so to do with derrick henry more than their OL. This is another mistake thats on Poles. That keenan allen trade will be another one. Because he essentially gave a 4th away for a player who will be on a snap count the entire year. Thankfully he gets it back from that justin trade
if i could hit that like but 500 billion times i would because thats how happy i am that nate davis is benched and can't wait till ryan bates is back for wk 7
Hopeing Karan gets some positive experience. Maybe some restructuring will open some holes for the run game and give CW some time to make accurate throws.🐻⬇️
Love the content and the positive vibes Nick! It's about time we benched Davis, I've been calling for this for two games. Looking forward to getting our future KIRAN out there! LFG! BEAR DOWN!!
Football players for the most part, play at their best when they play hungry and angry. NOT ALL of them, but quite a few of them. And when they get paid, they become docile, like a well fed lion. That just to go through the motions doing just enough to get that paycheck.
I'm going to say this. The Oline would be playing much better if Eberflus would have benched Nate Davis at the beginning of training camp. Because he has done nothing to be a starter this long and he is one of the main reasons why Oline and offense are going through training camp right now and may take another 3 or 4 weeks to jell. Waldron hasn't helped with his play calling either
I want to also say that Poles is the main culprit in all of this because Tevin Jenkins best position is right guard and he and Wright was mauling people and why do you go and mess with that and we should already have a very good center if Poles would have used our resources properly and some commonsense here. Poles could have gotten a center the year that he brought ND here and this Oline would be much better off and the salary cap too
How do you expect to get the most out of your Olineman when you let one player who doesn't wanna play football nor does he have his mind in it. I'm of the belief that he lost his will and ability to apply himself after the death of his mother. These things can happen and it was unfortunate that it happened to Nate Davis. But he had a guaranteed contract where he has basically quit on his team, coach and GM
Well, it looks like the Bears finally care enough about the o-line to do something about it. Just don't expect them to look great after a few days of changes. All I want is some form of improvement.
The whole Oline failure is all on poles, he failed in that aspect of the off season. A strong Oline is one of the most important aspects of a football team, it’s obvious. Just look at the best teams in the league
Do You really think ND cares if he is on the Bench ? He is getting 10 million . It’s so clear that he doesn’t care . He is set for Life ! And the other players see this situation and how can they be happy when he is making more than them . They should protect themselves when drawing up a contract . But then someone like Davis could cry injury or other lame reasons . And yes I was one that said from the start the OL is a main concern . And We could have Signed a Center in free agency . As far as the Coaching it’s still too early to pass judgement on the staff in my opinion . If you end up losing 2 out of the next 3 games then there should be changes made .
Yes! The NFL should have some type of protection against players that just go through the motions and put forth very little effort once they get their money. Jackson was another Bear that was an obvious example!
Let's keep in mind this man lost his mother.Death affects all of us difficulty. True enough he has a job to do. But we don't know what this man is at mentally.
