I have been going back and forth to Montreal Canada. My daughter has been working in Montreal. US money is strong in Canada. Love it .Montreal has been beautiful with fall approaching. Going back soon to help bring my daughter and her fur baby and lots of luggage on the plane!! My daughter wants to go to Vancouver. Stay safe and well.
Glad to see you went to Grouse Mountain! I live in a suburb of Vancouver and I do the Grouse Grind a few times a year. There are so many things to do for free at the top of the mountain and I wear my "I beat the Grind" shirt all the time! Too many visitors to Vancouver miss seeing the true beauty of the area by not going to Grouse Mountain!
You can tell from the comments that we Canadians are proud of all that our country has to offer! I remember doing the gondola in 1973. As for poutine, we make a point of trying it in as many different places in Canada as we can - but none can beat the choices in Quebec City! (They also have the best beaver tails!).
I love Vancouver! The Fly Over Canada ride and Capilano Suspension Bridge are pretty cool. I used to be a travel agent. So jealous you get to do the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff. Always wanted to do that. Can’t wait for that video!
Love Vancouver! As a Canadian, I’ll just give you a Heads up regarding poutine, it actually originated in Quebec, Then it quickly became a favourite in the rest of Canada!
That was cool, thank you for sharing. I live in BC but not in Vancouver anymore, have been up Grouse Mountain many times, but that was years before there were so many fun things to do up there. I do recall watching a similar lumberjack show at the PNE when I was a kid and would love to watch it on the top of the mountain! That must go on my to-do list.
Welcome back to Canada. Vancouver is an awesome city to see. One day on your travels try to get to Ottawa (Canada’s Capital) for July 1st, or the Tulip Festival in May, or the Rideau Canal in February (longest skating rink). Glad you enjoyed Canada. We’re pretty proud Canucks! Take care and safe travels. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Jason - I am with you on the fear of heights topic. My sister & I did Grouse Mountain in September one year and we also took the ski lift to the very top. I totally froze between the legs dangling and having nothing securing me in place - so I stared at a mole on my sister’s face the entire time up and made her talk to me also (she was like Alisa with no fear). I also told her when we got to the top there was absolutely no way I could take it back down. So the employees pointed to the road they drive to get there and we walked back down. The views are phenomenal but dangling free like that just is no good. 😵💫
You guys are so inspiring! We are in the thick of raising our four children but this really makes me want to plan for our future as empty nesters I think it’s incredible what your doing. Thank you
I totally understand the " forgetting about what shoes I have on and that I should change". I once mowed our lawn in my totally beat up white turned green from lawn mowing old tennis shoes. I was so busy, I think I just changed my top and totally forgot what shoes I had on until we were at a nice restaurant a little later. I was so embarrassed!!
Hello, Glad you enjoyed the Poutine. It was created in Victoria ville or Drummondville Quebec. Both cities are battleling to know who makes the best one. I guess you will have to come over and taste it to decide 😃
Jason, you did a whole lot better than I would have on the lift. I would have had white knuckles, my eyes closed and everything. I have problems one the wheel in Pigeon Forge on the first go around but after that I'm fine. Love y'all and love your adventures.
It's cool to see Jason breaking up the diet once awhile. I have gone 7 months with no fatty foods but now once a few weeks I'll splurge a bit. Ya gotta have a variety
Love your videos. Small correction, the mountain you saw from the peak of Grouse Mountain is in fact Mount Baker in Washington State....a long way from the Rockies. It's a volcano part of the group running among the west coast including Mt St Helen's, Shasta, Rainer, Hood etc.
I would have been in flip flops too, you would think we would learn. In 1986 they had the "world's fair" in Vancouver they called it Expo 86. It was fun, but we abandoned it for more local adventures. On of those adventures was an international lumber jack competition. One of the compactions was altered chainsaws. They were altered with Harley motors!
Glad you enjoyed your time in Vancouver and got up to Grouse Mountain to enjoy a beautiful day. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime, you never know. PS ; those are the Coastal Mountains you were looking at.... not the Rocky Mountains. Those you saw when you went to Banff.
You are in my stomping ground, lived in North Vancouver for 12 years and literally 5 minutes from Grouse Mt. That is one of 3 local mountains. There is also Cypress and Seymour. The grouse Grind is a tough climb but doable. A lot of the locals do it weekly. Next time you are in North Vancouver let me know and I will share the local secrets.
When we went there it was so foggy you couldn't see but a few feet Infront of you, it took us ages to find the bears. Would love to come back on a nice day and actually have the views..
Jason i am scared of heights too ( i did a bus tour back in the 80 ‘s to Europe we stopped at a ski lift over the vine yards in Germany it was an amazing view BUT our ski lift got stuck for a few seconds ( felt alot longer seeing it was swaying alot ) 🫣😱🤢. I never wanted to go in one ever again. That was a Beautiful day out. Your views dispite the cloud cover was still awesome 😍 . For the price your sure get to do alot in that day . The Hike looked really interesting 🤔 . Wauw love your hotel room ,stunning view being so many floors up 😱😅 Have a Good week. Safe travels 🥰
Do not beat yourself up, Jason. I was more freaked out on the ski lift outside of Anchorage going up MT Alyeska not near as tall as Grouse Mountain. My daughter had to calm me down, she had no problem with the ride.
So glad that you went to Grouse Mountain! It's in my back yard, sort of. I live in Burnaby. That mountain range that you said were the Rocky Mountains were most likely in Washinton State, or over on Vancouver Island. If you check on the Grouse Mountain Website, they have webcams that you can check on the Grizzly Bears and the Mountain all year. I am so glad that you had a great time.
@@EECCTravels awww that's too bad. Banff is my back yard. Thank you for coming to see our country. Glad you got to see what the west has to offer. Please come back anytime
Hi 👋🏻 Jason you don't like heights because it's a fear of falling, and it sucks, I have that too 😏. Capilano Suspended Bridge is a fun activity and it does have awesome Fudge 🤣 and you can get a certificate that says you crossed the bridge. Now as for Poutine, glad you enjoyed it but the best place to taste them is in the east so Toronto or Montreal, I'll advocate for Montreal because I'm originally from there and now live in BC, and you can visit the Old Port that can feel a touch like Europe, the best time to visit is during the summer when all the festivals are happening, you can try a smoked meat sandwich and a bagel ( fairmount or St-Viateur) to see which you prefer, Montreal one or NYC 🙂🙃, if you do end up visiting hope you'll have fun Remember it's not a real poutine if it doesn't have cheese curds 😉
Love your videos Try to watch all of them that I can We also live in Louisiana On Toledo Bend We are headed to Alaska with carnival luminos June 8 Did not realize you guys was booking agents Is travel agents Would like your information to book for you next time
Hello - Just stubbled on this video. Great video. Question, the hotel, is it near the port? My friends and I are thinking of doing an Alaska cruise next year from Vancouver, spending a couple of days before the cruise and this place looks great.
Vancouver has some amazing Indian and Vegan Restaurants...I would your candid reaction if you decide to review some of these world renowned restaurants... having lived in NOLA for many years as a Vegan, I know that although unfamiliar to "meat eaters", 3, 4, and 5 star vegan vegetarian restaurants can be "eye-opening". LMK if you sample some of these world renowned International venues, and if you find some "gems" let us know!!!! I love your posts!
Had a big black bear great me home in my back yard 10 feet from me last summer - make sure you know what to do if you do run into one. No joking matter!
We apologize for the high cost of everything in Vancouver BC...BC stands for bring cash. The Grind is quite advanced bc it's very steep. Bring lots of water, snacks, cash for ride down, shirt to change bc you'll be soaked with sweat, head-flashlight if you are starting late. I got caught at dusk. Very dangerous. Court shoes no good. Require hiking boots. There are slippery parts.
Can you tell me what month would be great to cruise to Alaska where it’s not cold? I know when your on the ship to expect it be very cold watching the icebergs etc but other then that, June or July? But is July also the most expensive time to go? Thanks!
Very Interesting, sounds like a great time. Nothing like having your head in the clouds. Lol. Just kidding. Oh and can I have your travel email ID like to book a cruise
Oh, ok. I’m just starting out & I’m using iMovie. My channel is ‘ozark baggerz’, I have 2 ozark baggerz, but I’m using the one with the big orange O for my content. If you have time check it out. My last video I made a gumbo on the flat top, even the roux was made on the flat top. Thanks for your time, David.
