I watched sub first, and then an episode of dub. they are both good and ppl are just picky. The sub is special however, becasue it's pretty natural sounding japanese voice acting, which isnt what we get alot of in anime these days so that probably why people are complaining.

Haru’s voice is the only one that bothers me. Her nose sounds stuffed up and she kinda sounds like a guy. Not cute at all. Her Japanese voice was a cute timid girl. I see some people in the comments defending her voice saying that Haru is not a shy character. Okay? But it was shown in the subbed version that others pitied her and saw her as weak. Part of that due to her size being a dwarf rabbit and hearing her tiny little voice. Also, I just don’t like the extra add on words English dubbers use to fit words in the moving mouths. They add unnecessary things that are unnatural in English but I get that if they don’t, the mouths would keep moving while no words are being said. Which is why it’s my preference to watch just the original voice acting. If people like dub, good for them but don’t tell me that I’m being elitist and snobbish because of it (I’ve actually heard someone say that before 🙄)

euphoryuh i agree, i watched the sub first then the dub version, however I personally prefer the dub, haru does sound way better on the sub version though, but i think some of the voices of the characters in the dub version match their age, louis sounds like a teen and other characters like the drama teacher sound like according to their age. Legosi is where the dub version got me, such an amazing voice acting and i just fell in love with it. I really wish they got an actress with a softer voice for haru since, its not tue fact that shes shy, but that shes delicate and is supposed to portray a weaker animal, its not that the voice actress did a bad job, but the voice does not match the character... but overall one of the vest dubs of any anime ive seen.

CaoPapaSmurf that’s your right if you like the dub version better. I’m not gonna knock it. Did you know that they modeled the characters mouth movements directly off of the actors playing them? I forgot what it’s called but the actors in japan I guess had those dots on their face while they acted out the scenes (not just voice acted) and the 3D character’s movements and facial expressions were modeled off of their acting. That’s why the characters seem so realistic with breathing and natural Japanese sound and reactions. I wonder if they also did that for the English voice actors but I doubt it.

euphoryuh thats new, i didnt even notice, im so used to characters moving their mouth and the voice actor speaking over them that I unconsciously felt the same, i bet if i rewatch it ill certainly feel the difference

Well there's nothing they could do. When dubbing a 2d anime, it's mostly mouth flaps so anything fits no matter what language but with this, their moves are animated specifically for japanese lines so it doesn't match up sometimes.

@Cherry I certainly wouldn't expect them to change the mouth movement to match the dub. Do any animes normally do that? I think I've heard of a few, such as Princess Mononoke from way back.
