if I wanted to make a similar sound to knxweldge, nujabes or madlib, would you recommend a maschine studio or an mpc 2000xl to go with my sp404? Great video btw, my favorite channel at the moment.
Isaac Gonzalez I haven't used Maschine so I can't speak on that but the 404 will definitely get you closer to this sound & feeling. 2kxl has no effects other than a low pass filter. It does have time stretching but it's barely usable beyond a couple bpms. 404 comp & vinyl sim will get you closer to knx sound overall imo.

So I know you only have done hip hop beat recreations on this channel but can you throw in some other genres that share similar approaches to how hip hop beats are made? For example, Timbaland produced a pop track called Morning After Dark that is absolutely insane. Just a suggestion to throw in some variety. Thankssss

If you feel like making a vid again consider Redemption, the drums are really simple, but I can't understand what they're doing to that Ray J vocal, can it be just filters?
