Dude! Johnny Ramone did not play that many single notes in his entire career! Lol. Steve got a huge round of applause for that solo - standing ovation in middle of song! Awesome!
Thank you for posting. I was there. 11/10 concert. So grateful to Belew for putting together the tour and pushing through all of the obstacles for years to make it happen. I really hope they tour the whole world and do a live album.
@@stuartromig9576 / Correct, but the legal entity that is King Crimson will have to release the rights to the band Beat, BTW I was at the Anaheim show and it was amazing
I have been to hundreds of concerts since the 70's including King Crimson in 1981. This show last Friday was one of the greatest I have ever been to. I am still on a high from it.
Amazing! It’s like he was born to play this stuff. What effortless musical expression! I am so impressed with 0:39 the 1:10 F’ing total master!!! I’ve got to to hear this live!!!
Vai is totally and completely locked in! I don’t know I’m thinking he is playing Fripp better than Fripp? This is simply effortless! Wow so graceful and expressive!
I am beginner guitar player and learning new things all the time. In this video I see for the first time two guitar cables connected to the guitar, why is that?
Frame By Frame...Fripps relentless picking of 32nd and 64th notes... the only way that Steve Vai could play it was by 'Tapping'...it certainly is a different take...and...I LIKE IT! 😊❤😊
Thanks for posting. I wanted to go but too darned expensive. I did see the Fripp-Belew version at Massey Hall when John Paul Jones opened the show and also saw the original Discipline tour. This was usually a Belew feature on the guitar synth. Wonder why he gave it to Vai?
Was there. This was one of the craziest solo spots I've seen live, but unfortunately the fella next to me was overly excited and hollered all throughout, ruining my bud's recording attempt
Hi, would it be okay with you if I used this footage for a video about the band and the Toronto show? I couldn't get much working footage and I was hoping someone like you caught this amazing moment!
I have always loved Johnny Ramone and the Ramones but what were you thinking ( or smoking ) when you wrote that Steve Vai was channeling Johnny Ramone ??? Steve Vai's immense talent and technique have nothing in common with the Ramones... If anything Johnny Ramone's mostly played downstrokes and very few solos... Well...I don't need to say that... Everyone knows that 🙂🙂
😂 you think it gives you status making the whiny comment when in fact its you looking for approval and acceptance... mom n dad left you alone a lot huh?
@@Andrew_M_Warddie hard vai fan but this ain’t doing it for me either. Sad I missed the show but wanted to see him play as someone else. Not whatever this is.
