For anyone wanting to hit the "Like" button, please don't: Terrible audio: PHONES ARE NOT MIXING BOARDS! Id rather wait years if I have to and see the official releases when they come out. I feel sad for anyone young and unfamiliar with KC and these cats, discovering this and getting the totally wrong impression, never to click on another KC video, and never know what they are missing, and if the up loader is a fan, he's hurting them, not helping them!
Thanks for pinning my comment, but it doesn't make me wrong, no matter how many people (probably not many given the number of your subscribers. Add to that for each one with any critical and rational thinking skills that can see how what I said is probable and it very well may have that effect, and voice that they agree, it's to be expected that 20 or even way more will disagree in a heart beat without even thinking about it. It's called "The human condition". On the other hand if you did so because you agree with me (unlikely), you wouldn't need to, but instead just maybe clarify that the audio is muddy and so it may give the wrong impression, and to keep that in mind. FYI, I have met Adrian and Tony (the whole KC band with Fripp, Levin, Brufford Gunn and Mastelotto) more than a few times and was in the business for a bout a decade, and part of what I did was band management, and it was not only well known, but statistically shown that substandard material of a band out in public does indeed have that effect, and add to that it undermines a bands need to make money in order to continue doing what they do. So now there is another reason you can reflect on, if you dare to question your own selfish motives, or just plain ignorance. Oh, and I didn't give you a like, but now I gave you a dislike which no one will see a count for, but I know you can see it. 😉 Have a good life, I know I have and will continue to.
Any kid with half a brain and interested in hearing Crimson's music will most definitely look for the albums and videos that are readily available on you tube . Even a youngster will immediately realize this is not the ideal way to hear them, that is just common sense
@@Bob-of-Zoid You are wrong and your comment is ridiculous . No tech savvy kid is going to believe for a second that this video is a fair representation of the band. Of course he or she will look for other videos, studio and live recordings. No one thinks a phone is a mixing board. There are thousands of videos like this, and everyone who owns a phone and watches you tube knows it
All these phone recordings make me want a high quality audio DVD/Bluray even more. Saying that, this might be one of the best quality audio I've heard so far :)
Indeed. Especially considering the fact that he is no longer amongst us due to cancer. Wetton's crunchy bass is what makes the original recording sounding so mean.
Yep, I was there! Great show! 🥳 I hope they get this tour professionally recorded/videoed before it’s over, so we can all have an official document of the tour. Too good to let this one escape without getting it captured for other unlucky ones who won’t be able to get to see them. Bravo gentleman! Excellent show, and it was the first one! ☝️ 🎸🎹🥁🎤🎶
Thank you for posting this. If you'd told me 40 years ago that we'd have a tool like AI that would allow us to 'imagine' a configuration of a band, made up of all monster virtuosos and have them play the most brawny/complex music, I would have told you that it was not possible. Instead we got Levin, Belew, Vai and Carey to actually play the most brawny/complex music! Very, very cool. Thank you again.
I've four different iterations of KC live, and each of those concerts included "Red". Every version was a little different, and they were all exceptional, including this one. I hope I get to see this band at some point on their tour, since the first time I saw them was the 80s band on the Discipline tour... this would kind of be full circle for me.
I still feel like the Thrak tour double trio version of Red - for the time and place, 1995 - was the most surreal presentation. Roseland Theater, Portland. Normally a standing show but chairs were brought in. To have young punkers, emo, alternative, bespectacled earnest gen x ers and plenty of boomer parent and grandparents with their balding and polo golf shirts all absolutely rocking out in their heads and their seats was something I never thought I would see at the time.
Great show last night. Definitely check it out if you have a chance. Vai and Carey bring a while new dimension to this classic music that makes it sound so fresh and exciting!
Sounds awesome! I really think they'll even tighten up more with a few shows. I hope to God we get a 4K great audio quality recording of this because I can't afford to go.
it isn't real Krimson without the potential for clammage lurking at every turn. It needs to feel slightly precarious and chaotic, like the wheels could come off at any point. Absolute perfection isn't always best.
I was lucky to have seen that period's King Crimson - Fripp, Belew, Levin, Brufford - twice in London during my student years. I would love to see Beat too, but it is unlikely they will ever come to Greece where I live. Many bands i don't care about come here but when it comes to progressive rock bands we are a desert at least for the last 10 years.
this is so bad, my band can actually do better. its not suppose to have this stupid 80's metal whammy bs in it. respect the song man but what can u expect from vai/belew all show no game...
they are playing it pretty close to how the 80's Crimson played it. Belew's parts are almost verbatim. That's the point. Not supposed to be like the 70's original, and not like the 2010-2020s 3-drummer KC reworks either.
similar to the 90's Crimson too, FWIW, with the double-trio line-up, so basically faithful to any time Belew was in KC playing it live. Check out Absent Lovers for the 80's group live, or B'Boom live in Argentina for the 90's group live playing Red.
What? The drummer didn't play the double china hits? SERIOUSLY, you skipped that? On THIS song? Damn, no wonder Tool is so boring. Get a better drummer.
Yeah, I'm a drummer and actually just posted a cover of Red, there's alot of room for using your own creativity, and I'm kinda bummed how boringly Danny played this.
