I think that with so much Beat Saber content you've made, you could have valuable insight for VR rhythm game developers in what kinds of movements and game mechanics would make for a good looking moveset. Have you ever thought about what a "Beat Saber 2" might look/play like? Have you ever talked to the devs? Maybe a larger resolution than the 4x3 grid? Full block rotation freedoms? Replacing blocks with bars or other shapes? Wider approach angles (Instead of coming from just right in front they'd come in from anywhere in a 90° or even 180° cone)? Entirely new mechanics, like adding a virtual Dance Dance Revolution pad? (You'd need to have trackers on your shoes for that, though.) Might be full overload, but could be fun experimental game modes for those interested in the challenge, if anyone would make maps for them. Maybe just a few/couple dev-maps at the start. Anyways, great video as always. VR is exciting so I can't help but want to come up with new ways of using it.
Many of those features are fully available with mods. Custom block shapes, mapping extensions, foot saber, all of them already exist. I agree that 90 degree and 360 degree levels need to be implemented better though.
in the chorus, you are swinging like you are trying to hit the directionless blocks individually, but you can literally just swing your arms like a lasso, just as the dance does, and it still works :)
how do i find beat saber songs that have enough sword crossings? in practice they often make the red cubes appear on the right instead of on the left and vice versa, thank you very much
Lol I thought I was a decent saber player because I can do expert fast mode. Then I see one of your videos and think to myself “yeah, I’m really not that good, I’m pretty average” lol
I am thinking about doing beat saber for my youtube videos, i think i am pretty good at it but who knows, we will find out how well it goes if i ever do it
