This is a true American treasure! It is simultaneously wonderful and heartwarming to see my parent's Greatest (WWII) generation and my Baby Boomer generation when we were all relatively young. Those were such innocent days; (for us kids, anyway). How I miss those fantastic times! (EDIT: I couldn't wipe the smile from my face for the entire program!)❤
Great blast from the past. Wild to think that the kids from the middle family are 75, 79 and 82 years old now. Bud Collyer was also well know as the voice of Superman/Clark Kent in the "Adventures of Superman" radio series of the 40's and as Superman/Kent in the 1966-67 animated "The New Adventures of Superman" series. he would have continued to voice the famous Kryptonian in the Hanna Barbera Super Friend show but he passed away in 1969. Bud Collyer was a genuinely nice man. When the contestants won, I think he was even happier than they were! He almost always asked about the contestants families and their kids and would often talk about his own kids too.
@@Neal_R If young people think that the 1950s were not entertaining, they are rudely mistaken! I wouldn't trade having lived in that extraordinary era for anything the "woke" 21st century offers!
