1: Use hydrating shampoo and conditioner 2: Use sea salt spray 3: Use a moisturizing pre styler and then dry your hair thoroughly 4: Finish your hairstyle with a thick or oil-based post styler 5: Seal your style with a hairspray
Amazing content Matt! Came across your channel a few weeks ago. I love your scientific approach to giving advice with no bro science. Also, I find this type of your videos (tips addressing particular concerns) extremely helpful so please do keep doing these! Much love😀☺️
I have a question, did you clean up all of the product on your hair at the end of the day since you don't use shampoo everyday? If yes how? Since using water alone won't get rid all of the product from my hair.
Sir, I got baby tiny hair on my head, they just stand up and it's annoying 😖 it makes me look older. 😖 I did a kera -rebond treatment to my hair last year, and my hair just kept falling, I also didn't go for spa treatment because I had no time due to work. Now the rebond thing is wearing off... So it's just standing . I don't condition my hair. What's the best shampoo conditioners for my type hair it's dry, frizzy and falls. 😞
It's definitely worth using a conditioner every time you wash your hair. A few of my favorite sets of shampoo/conditioner that do a great job of hydrating and repairing frizzy hair: Moroccanoil Hydration set, Amika The Kure set, and TheSalonGuy PURE or HEMP sets.
+dho0o0m Not necessarily a lack of keratin. Just all the extra hydrogen molecules form too many bonds with the keratin proteins which results in waves. So the more moisture your hair has locked into it, the less chance the outside moisture will get in and make it frizz!
Yessss an other great video Matt , u derserve more sups Also put on your list for reviewing Carter Suplly Fortify its a special clay with an extra oil in it 😬
My hair is so dry and it is so hard like it is freezing dry. Any solution for this? The temperature here in my country is 37° average. I dont know if it is hot on other country but it is literally hot here.
That is definitely hot! If your hair is feeling really dried out, I’d recommend trying a hair mask or leave-in conditioner once per week. Maybe even a new shampoo and conditioner depending on what you’re using. For prestylers I’d recommend going with something smoothing and hydrating like TheSalonGuy 25 spray, Xmondo Viper, or Moroccanoil smoothing lotion.
@@TDMStyle i will try that leave in conditioner but I can only use it once a week? Also, my mom has an argan oil something. Can I use it on my hair everyday? Thanks
You can use a leave-in or hair mask one to two times per week, but I wouldn’t go more than that because then your hair can start to get greasy and heavy. The argan oil thing maybe can be done every day depending on what exactly it is.
if there is moisture in the hair your hair is easier to style. this is stupid. what are we trying to do, remove or keep moisture, you keep going back and forth and it doesn't make sense!
It’s not “back and forth.” Having conditioned, moisturized hair is very different from having wet hair. When your hair is wet, it’s at its most fragile and all the molecular bonds get “reset.” For people with curly, coarse hair types, that means it’s prone to curl up and dry frizzy. When you use heat to remove the water while manipulating the structure using tension/brushes etc, you smooth it out and reduce frizz. Using products to make your hair softer and smoother help this along and help to seal out humidity. Humidity is water. Water resets the bonds again.
I think that would only really help if your hair looks like that as a result of being over processed or damaged by something. If your hair is naturally coarse/frizzy, shaving and regrowing would not change that. If that is the case, it's best to start looking into various product or styling technique changes depending on your current routine. If you let me know what your current stuff is I can suggest some things :)
@@TDMStyle I think my hair became like this because I used to use alot of wax gatsby in highschool. eventually it became wavy and frizzy and now its out of control. conditioners have no effect on my hair but i have been using argan oil lately and my hair starts looking moisturized (until i take a shower that is). excuse me for my bad english and i hope you understand what I mean I really just want to repair my hair because it looks really bad
I would suggest trying a good quality repairing shampoo/conditioner pair, like Moroccanoil Hydration or Amika The Kure. And you could do a deep conditioning mask once or twice per week. Also I would say to consult with your hair stylist/barber as they can give you more tailored suggestions.
I’m in the same boat. My hair used to be fine but I think it’s damaged too. My hair now is just also just like the thumbnail, I don’t know what to do anymore. Did you manage to fix it yet?
@@osci1234 Yeah I shaved my head and started using moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, It's been like 4 months since then and I can tell that my hairs a little bit better. I think the biggest factor is the products that you use and how often you use them. I recommend not using shampoo that often unless you have a thin hair, my hair is pretty thick and i'm a pretty active guy which leads to my hair being oily so I shampoo once every 2 days, and I apply argan oil everytime I shampoo. I hope this gives you an idea of what to do, please note that I am not an expert and I'm only sharing my personal experience.
Tdm style can u help In something I want to know how can I soften cavalier clay it works perfectly for my hair but it's stiff and tugs a little I saw like 20 hair on may hand today plz help
Cavalier is definitely thick and can be sticky if not emulsified enough. The best advice I can give is to really rub it between your hands A LOT to get it super warmed up before you apply it. Like when I warm it up, my hands actually feel hot lol
Yeah you know the _really_ funny part is, that I actually _do_ have coarse hair. It just doesn't look like it because I use smoothing products and blow it out 🤷🏻♂️
Nothing really, just my life has been so busy that I haven't had a chance to practice tailoring the suit yet (and it will take a long time as it's a very involved pattern).
+Lenin Sebastian I haven't used any of those myself, so I can't recommend one or the other on personal experience. But I can try to suggest something based on your hair type! What sort of hair do you have?
+Lenin Sebastian Well getting it straightened out will depend on your blow drying and styling, but to keep it smooth I would definitely make sure your shampoo and conditioner are moisturizing, and sulfate-free
We have similar hair and I have a lot of trouble using pomades, like I've NEVER been able to slick my hair back even with blow drying it all back. Is my hair just too thick to slick back?
Diego Olea If your hair is similar to mine then you should be able to slick it back. What types of pomades have you been using? I find the water-based (gel type) to be too sticky for me. Maybe an oil-based one would be better for you.
TDM Style we have similar hair, but mine grown to the side and yours kinda back, I've tried oil based reuzel pink and shear revival crystal lake, but all I get is shine and no slickness.
+Diego Olea In that case I'd suggest blow drying into place once you've added some product so it will set where you want. Then add some additional product after blow drying.
Oil and a leave-in would be a bit overkill and might make your hair too oily. Sometimes leave-ins are better to do as a treatment - leave them in overnight and wash it out in the morning type of thing.
I did an IG post on this a while back, but basically I started on YT with "TenthDoctorMatt" as a one-off thing, where I thought I was just going to make one video and that was it. But as things progressed and I started doing more videos, learning how to make them better, and getting into other things like fashion and hairstyles other than David Tennant's, it was a natural shift for me to change my channel name and aesthetic to be a better reflection of what I'm now about. So I decided to keep TDM to remember where I started, but go with more of a men's hair/fashion route, while still sticking to my cosplay roots.
Awesome video matt, excited for giveaway the watches look very classy! Question what is your favorite prestyler? like to know which you think is best bang for buck before buying
1admac Thanks! Yeah the watches are awesome :) At the moment my favorite prestyler is 25 spray by TheSalonGuy. Does a lot of stuff and keeps your hair super soft.
