Yeah, after comparing for a while using my below comment i think the AKG BBBD5 is audibly the best. It has great punch and clarity to it. Definitely hear it is designed for beatboxing as it is not muddy and helping to define the punch of the sounds.
Guys, in this price range all of those mics are really good for Beatboxing. As you are very close to the mic you make use of the "proximity effect" (that means the mic will have a slightly different frequency response curve than using it "normally"). I recommend you to care about the price more than the mic, UNLESS you want to sing with it. Then buy 3 of them, testrecord your voice and beatbox and see wich fits best to your voice and style ;) Thanks for the video! It confirmed my thought that there wouldn't be huge differences in sound (at least when recording in a studio and not on stage)
I just bought a portable speaker and im looking to get buy some mic's best for a beatboxing rap duo performance, I like the sennheiser E838 and the infamous bbbd5 the best so i'll get them both, thanks for the video it helped make a good decision, dope beatboxing to homie.
just another mic good for beatboxers to throw in here, I use an 'Electro-Voice n/d767a', $130 and I have really enjoyed using it, for practicing, live and all over the place. some people describe it, compared to a sm58, as "a cleaner sound and more power". I agree, and it is designed to not feedback, unlike a 58 which will have that problem sometimes. just my two sense as a beatboxer myself... ;)
and the more and more I read about it, and thinking of my personal experiences the past 3 years with it, it blows the sm58 out of the water as a standard vocal (and beatbox) mic... ;)
ten years later, it still helps, thanks, but i wonder something, i am sure when i buy any of the mics, it wont sound as beautiful as this, i have an average mic, and it sounds bad, i cant even do a normal kick, it sounds like i am blowing air into the mic, i really want to learn how you connect your microphones and the settings, how you make them sound good? i dont know how to learn these, can someone help me? thank you
HOW DO YOU REGIST THE VOCAL? Which program do you use? You have a jack for the mic in the camera? Do you regist 2 track audio/video separate? How? Please can u answer me.
how do you connect your XLR mike to the pc i mean does it lower your quality if you use like xlr-usb connector? i would really appreciate your answer cause i am deciding to buy a shure pg58 but i dont wanna buy like usb audio interface ... thanks
