💛 FUN FUN FUNCTION
Since 2015, Fun Fun Function (FFF) is one of the longest running weekly RU-vid shows on programming 🏅 thanks to its consistency and quality reaching 200,000+ developers.
🤦‍♂️ The Failing Together concept is what makes FFF unique. Most coding content out there focus on step-by-step tutorials. We think tutorials are too far removed from what everyday development is like. Instead, FFF has created a completely new learning environment where we grow from failure, by solving problems while intensively interacting with a live audience.
Tutorials try to solve a problem. Failing Together makes you grow as a developer and coworker.
📹 Each show is recorded live on Twitch in a 2-hour livestream on Mondays. The host, assisted by the audience, is tasked to complete a programming challenge by an expert guest. Like in the real world, we often fail, and learn from it. This, of course, reflects what the audience identifies with, and is one of the most praised aspects of the show.
⏯ On Fridays, an edited version of the show is adapted for and published on RU-vid.
Content Topics revolve around: JavaScript, Functional Programming, Software Architecture, Quality Processes, Developer Career and Health, Team Collaboration, Software Development, Project Management

Wow, I’ve never thought of depression specifically as deprivation of positive consequences. That is spot on.

So what you said at the end there I think is the key takeaway. You didn't want to do the things you did so they drained you. Sometimes life is like that, you don't want to do what you are going to do next. And that is completely fine, the danger comes when you are in that situation for too long. So if it lasts longer than 1-2 weeks you should reevaluate and/or talk to your employer. Resting helps but just in the start, to "reset" and do whatever you feel like. However, something I learned during my first burnout is that if you only fill your days with "pleasure" you will become even more depressed. Same thing if you only fill them with "duties". You need a good balance of pleasure and duties, I.e. Do the dishes, shower, actually COOK food for yourself and take a 30 minute walk. After that you can game for 8 hours if you like, or sleep, or whatever. Divide your time properly. And SLEEP!

Love this so much! I've been lacking vacation last 4-5 years and been in constant stress. Luckily now I've had a chill customer that made it possible for me to relax these past 5-6 months. Thank god! Because my brain would have been properly cooked. I had to figure out on my own hand exactly what you said. But it is so good to see that I'm on a good way. I still feel it though. But just being able to take everything slow, has made all the difference Thanks for this video!

Awesome video, I can totally relate, the resistance, the loss of 'non-work' muscles, relearning to bring other activities into your life.

Absolutely true on Burnout! procrastination just happens and how we behave and act upon impulses is a big thing..

the depression analogy may be the case for short term depression, but long term depression is much more complex
