In this run I equip chaser, twin heart charm, and super art two too absolutely minimize my damage output! Oh, and did I mention the game's on expert? Beating Cuphead without touching a single coin: • Is it Possible to Beat...
Hey guys, I'd like to apologize for originally messing up the title. The title was always supposed to be: "Beating EVERY boss in Cuphead with the WORST damage setup! ON EXPERT!" Meaning I'm playing every boss with the worst damage output possible, that being the chaser and twin heart charm with super art 2. But instead, the videos original title was: "Beating EVERY boss in Cuphead with the WORST setup! ON EXPERT!" Implying that I was using individual setups for each boss. Again, sorry about the mixup.

I’ve definitely used chaser to defeat bosses I struggled with, but yeah it’s annoyingly weak. It’s definitely designed to be an easy way out and the end result of the fight isn’t very rewarding
The idea is to use Chaser while dodging and unleash comething stronger when you get the chance. Of course, the Charge Shot is just better in that regard
@@kirbynova279 the result screen hp part take in count hits not hp, so if you have 1 hp you will not have any hits so you have "3/3 of hp" (I know this bc the cursed relic)
This set up is the reason why it took me a whole year to beat cuphead on my first playthrough after playing my second playthrough with more info on the weapons I'm already at the devil within just a week
Stay in that spot until they target that spot then move out of the spot that the homing attack attack targeted so your in a different spot. Perfect advice.
Back in 2017 and 2018 (because it took me a while to beat the game) I used this exact layout for every single fight except the Queen Bee because the chaser used to chase the circles, and the Captain because it used to target the barrel.
@@littletinygamer2396 Funnily enough, I tried beating King Dice with a recommended setup and I had an awful time. I beat him first try with my old setup. The loss of damage might sound bad, but when you can tank more hits and don’t have to worry about aiming, it’s pretty great.
While I do actually recommend Chaser against Dice, Goopy, Rumor, and Sally, those are the only fights in my mind where hitting the boss consistently is actually a problem, and generally, their phases are fairly quick. Roundabout, Lobber, and Spread have taken me much farther than Chaser ever will.
Ok what is wrong with you, sure chaser is good if your bad at aiming and 2 hearts (although using 1 heart is better) is good if you get hit often but together it just makes the game harder they actively make each other worse. Just use like invis dash or single heart which doesn't give as harsh a damage reduction
If you think about it. The roundabout is one of the best weapons for grim matchstick. Since the roundabout is a boomerang and when you throw it. It goes forward and then it goes flying behind you. So when your in phase 2 and phase 3. All you need to focus on is the clouds and the attacks. And not having to face backward to shoot him and most likely getting hit.
Not really. In phase 2, when roundabout changes direction it gains height slightly. So most of the time it goes directly above his head and misses him. You can prevent this by staying in the lower parts of the clouds. Which you don’t really want to do. Lobber is way better for this phase, and it’s not much of a travesty to turn around and aim at him for a bit. And in phase 3… you don’t want ANY rapid fire shot. Using charge is your best bet.
actual great tip: on the clown boss with the phase where he shoots out the horse shoes; if he's on the yellow horse: you can dash through his projectiles that he shoots out by jumping and instantly dashing to prevent you from getting hit from the horse shoes when on the roller coaster
Every single time I think of clip joint calamity I think of the frogs saying " You wanna go bro? You wanna go? Call me Mr. Fisticuffs cuz I'm coming at you-"
@@angelerror4086 not too much, since the charge can only shoot in 4 directions instead of 8, so it would be difficult to land constant hits with the charge shot, but then again, you have the whetstone.
Fun fact, for the flower boss, if you go to the very bottom left, crouch and shoot the chaser, you'll be safe for basically every attack besides the last part of the fights and when his face zooms at the bottom
For all the Aviary levels in this game (on expert) I didn’t even realize I was doing this challenge. Well, basically. I used twin hearts even on Dr. Kahl’s Robot.
I have a serious amount of respect for this. The amount of skill required to do this. Fair enough With that being said, I find Hilda Berg to be one of the easiest bosses in the game: like bottom 5 but thats just me
My strategy for Dr. Kahl's Robot was: 1. Attack the atannae/distract it. 2. Use the mini bombs to get both the stomache and his chest. 2 (a. When the parryable things come out his chest, parry them as much as possible. 3. After both the chest and stomach is destroyed, target the atannae, but when the homing missiles come out, screw the atannae and target the missiles. 3 a. When the hands come out to block half the screen, focus on the homing missiles. 4 when you destroy the atannae, aim for his heart, (u can use the bomb super now but I recommend that u save it) when the arms come out again, target the missiles. 5 during this phase, use the mini bomb attack when he's below u, when he's above, use the other attack 5 a. When the coming missiles come out, just either attack them or let them run into each other. 6 this phase is the hardest, use your super (if u have it) against him. When he's not attacking, use the mini bombs, when he does attack, use the regular attack. Rinse and repeat.
I can imagine the pain of fighting my boy Grim with the chaser only. If you had used the chaser while he was spitting his fireballs in phase 3, the fight would be impossible
My strategy for “All Bets are Off” Go for 2 first no matter what as Chips Bettigan is your best bet for either simply progressing in the fight, or if the heart is on that spot. Then, you’re gonna want to go for either 2 for safe or 3 if there is a heart on that spot or not. As Pip and Dot are generally very easy bosses. Again, go for either 2 or 3 depending on the circumstances. Phear Lap you are gonna wanna fight if there is a heart on his space. 3 if there either is or isn’t, as you will again land on a safe only if you chose 3 and fought Pip and Dot. Then, go for a 2 if you are on the safe spot just after Phear Lap, as you will land on Mangosteen. Mangosteen is the second easiest boss on the board. If you get a 1 on that previously mentioned safe spot, then you are better off starting over as that boss is Roulette Lady. And trust me, you will not wanna go through the pain of defeating her. After beating Mangosteen, go for either 1 or 3 depending on where a heart may be. If you land 2, then you may as well just *kill yourself* as that is a Start Over spot. If you get 3, then good job! You’re on King Dice. The shot I recommend as either Shot A or B is Charge. Which ability I recommend you ask? 2 words, Smoke. Dash. If you have to, use the Smoke Dash to get behind the hand King Dice is using to eject his cards from his hand. (Note: *remind me to never say that again*). Charge up your shot the whole time he is using his card attack, and when he is not attacking, shoot him with the charged attack. It may be time consuming, but if you keep shooting him and repeating that process, your work will pay off and he will die. Loadout: Shot A: Chaser/Peashooter (Although Chips Bettigan is tough without Chaser) Shot B: Charge Super Art: Super II Charm: Smoke Dash/Extra Heart Hope this helped anyone who may be stuck on King Dice right now.
Because of the shortcut, I beat every boss in ink well isle 3 except the robot. You can still get to ink well hell but when you try to go in the dice palace, King Dice stops you and says "you can't see the big boss just yet, you have more contracts" or something like that. I thought that was cool
Just bought this game last evening. I’m loving the hell out of it. What I’m not loving is seeing how much better my 12 year old son is at it than I am. It’s a sad state of affairs. He asked me “have you ever played a run n’ gun game?” And I’m like, “shit, son. I come from the school of Contra.” Yeah....this game kicks my ass.
It may be horrible damage but you still got the chaser which will slowly send your target to impending doom without needing to put in too much hard work. Its probably my favourite weapon
