I genuinely have NEVER done the intended way for the electric switch things in WDW. Even as a kid I found the teleportation spot and just dropped down. I legit couldn't figure out how to get to the switches. lmao. Also I think the snowman's head is legit the hardest star in the game to do intended. I always slip like a smidge too far past the penguin.

Hey simply, if you jump right on the very edge of the bridge on the way into the castle at the beginning you can skip listening to lakitu tell you how the camera works. I saw a guy do it on the internet once. Saves you some time.

I will say that 70 star speed run with the mod that doesnt kick you out of the painting with each star is the most fun to watch.

At face value this is beyond incredible. Somehow it gets more unbelievable the deeper one analyzes what you've done here. During your run you perform hundreds upon hundreds of orientation movements, spacial placement maneuvers, and intricately exercise fine granular camera control based on whatever your current task requires. This is what I find to be the most impressive part of this achievement! All it would take is a small deviation from your planned route to become disoriented and potentially lose time or force a restart... But even when there was one of your very, very few minor missteps in this run, you immediately had a contingency in place and were able to reorient yourself to your desired spacial placement and direction. This is beyond Super Mario 64. This is a vehicle on which you display a skill set that is something entirely difficult to comprehend from an outside perspective. I know I sure don't have the ability to commit to rote memory the kind of detail required to never miss a single step in something so insanely complex. On top of processing your exact coordinates and plane of view at nearly the rate of a computer, you still have to physically control the character and deal with the game mechanics... This is amazing, and I congratulate you on your new personal best and of course the world record. Looking forward to more content sometime. You've set the bar really high, but I have no doubt you have the determination to succeed in something even more unbelievable.

I've never played m64 but I've watched hundreds of hours of m64 Speedruns and this was legitimately the first time I've seen that alternate tunnel on the ice slide

I've had this game since 1998 and had no idea you could kick that part of the arrow and completely knock it down O_O

Gotta love seeing all the "as Nintended" stuff that even I as a noob don't do... That said, there are still "legal" speedrunning methods that can still be used. A "no glitch 70 star" category might be interesting.

It was summer 98, I was ten. I had already gotten around 80 stars and had beaten bowser and somehow managed to get a strategy guide to get all 120 that summer lol

As a kid i ALWAYS climbed on top of the penguins head in order to not get blown away. I difn't even have to move there. I thought that is the intended way😂

I like to think most unintended routes are actually intentional, and all the other unintended routes were made for newer/younger players.

I always tried playing a game the way it was intended as much as possible. But sometimes the intended way is just way harder.

When it’s easier to speed run than it is to play the way you’re intended to.

A while back my bros and i never could figure out how to get the last star (which was hidden at the slide getting under 21s we never did that) but we where stuck at 119 for so long many years of every once in awhile pickn it up to find it deleting and starting new files not once ever did the slode under 21seconds (because of habit collecting all the coins)

WTF there is an owl! I played that game like 5 times while a kid, played it couple more times, since. I played it like 3 months ago and I never notices there was an owl to get me to the cage!!!
