Beating Minecraft's Most Horrifying Mod

The Goatman seems like such a missed opportunity for something so much scarier. I’m gonna quote Shencomix’s take on horror. “Here’s the difference between good horror and bad horror. Bad horror is big and loud and wants to kill you. Good horror is quiet and frail. It doesn’t kill you. In fact, you kill it just because it disgusts you. But here’s the thing about good horror. Here’s the trick. It never dies.” The Goatman is just constantly in your face with it’s sounds, that don’t even seem to denote anything. They seem to play regardless of where he is in relation to you. The sounds play just to give you a cheap scare. Eventually you get used to them and they become more annoying than anything else. It feels to me like he’s actually begging you to be afraid of him. And that’s the thing. If you have decent gear, he isn’t a threat. Hell, if he starts chasing you, you can just make a pillar and he can’t touch you. You just wait until he decides to give up. I don’t know what the creator of the Goatman had in mind, but he is very, very poorly designed as a horror entity. Sure, he looks menacing. And for a couple of hours he sounds menacing. But in the face of even someone who didn’t know anything about him going in, Chief still never died to him once. And that’s even after baiting him to attack him several times.

Man this series was great. In yout hardcore world you should add end of Herobrine instead of from the fog. Its scarier and you can actually fight herobrine. Thank you for this great series

Hey cheif, if ur seeing this, i wanted to say that i loved the series, been ill a lot recently and this is a great passtime. One thing i would say is that i feel like this wasnt really a challenge towards the end because you could just build up or block up ur door. Idk what ur doing in the 'next series' but gl with that.
