I was 15 in 1982, and living in Texas...and I loved The Beatles. My father turned me on to them...and I have been a fan ever since. Greatest band of all time...with Pink Floyd...running a close second behind them. Always number 1 and number 2 for me.
These fans look so young still in 1982, I imagine they were only in their 30s at this time? I was 18 in 1982, born just as The Beatles took the USA by storm, February 1964. Great download, many thanks. 💞🎶🎼🎵
Seriously interesting that lots of young teen girls were screaming over the Beatles in 1982. I guess they're so timeless and well loved that new generations always dug them. Also, the early 80s would've been about the first time their music got far enough away that the current youth wouldn't have been around/old enough to remember them. Plus John's death around the same time might've helped revive them.
Im hopping mad that there is never any mention NOT ONE MENTION of the fabulous RUTLES, the band that inspired the Beatles. I mean we all know how good the Beatles were-I mean i for one havent even got off the magical mystery tour bus yet-but isnt it time to 'fess up and face the fact that without the Rutles would there even have been the Beatles ?? There might have been the rolling stones but who the fuck needs them ? No, as far as im concerned its time to give Dirk, Nasty, Stig and Barry their due. We owe them so much.
That was Danny Lopez , a very good friend of mine and actually that was the first day I met him and have now known him personally for over 40 years, he has gone on to be the worlds greatest Johnny Deep look-a-like these days ( look him up he'll blow your mind ). I want to thank you for posting this footage. I was there at the Bonaventure Hotel at that Beatlefest that year. Our group "Twist and Shout" won the Battle of the bands that year. The guy after Danny that looks like Lennon his name is Steve Green.
