I saw her play this last night with Honeck conducting the San Francisco Symphony. Marvelous in just my style of pianism and piece: straight forward, not pretentious, perfect alignment and timing with orchestra, absolutely delicate tones when called for and flying unbelievable hands! She is clearly in love with this piece-and this is my all time favorite all my life! She is absolutely top of her profession and a very classy diva who wore the most gorgeous yellow gown I’ve seen on the concert stage. May she have more well deserved fame and opportunities to gift more of us with her Rachmaninoff magic!❤
Beatrice Rana is maybe the very best pianist in her generation of our entire times. Of course she knows if there's a camera focusing her and that's why she's introducing the beautiful and lyrical theme of the Paganini-Variations wich sounds smooth and in a slow tempo. It's more interesting listening to her "Goldberg Variations" and I guess she's the first musician after Glenn Gould who realy showed a new and different view of Johann Sebastian Bach. to perform Rachmaninov compared to the "godfather" (Bach) is just fun but never more. And Beatrice is funny and a pretty professional musician who knows the scores exactly while playing and performing whatever she tells with her very well educated mind and her big heart! Simply the very best!
