In this video we’re talking about the new Beats Fit Pro. The headphones billed as wing-tipped Apple Airpods for sport. This is one you’ve all been asking us for. A LOT. And we’ve had to work hard to get a pair over to the UK, to do our tests.
Because they’re not out here yet. But we got ours via BigAppleBuddy.com, a service that ships products launched in the US to the UK. So we could bring you our thoughts.
Now that we have them, we’ve given them The Run Tester treatment and we're here to tell you..

brilliant review, can't wait to get my hands on them in 2022, my powerboat pro's seem to have developed a fault charging, hard to keep them connected to the charge points in the charging case

Enjoyed your review and have recently picked up a pair of Beats Fit Pro for running. Since I also own AirPods Pro I thought I would give my feedback: Make sure you select the correct ear tip: on the AirPods I use the medium, but on Beats I use the large tips, else I do not get a good seal for noise cancellation (even though the ear tip test shows a "good fit" for medium). Both AirPods and Beats are great for running, but when if your workout extends to thinks like skipping or stretching, where, for example your head is inverted, then the Beats win hands down: AirPods can't stay in place. Noise cancellation is slightly better on the AirPods Pro (subjectively for my ears, but using the same iPhone or Mac, in the same environment with the same background noise). It's so close that it shouldn't matter though. Personally, I love the physical buttons on the Beats: less fiddly when running. Conversely, I prefer the AirPods Pro "squeeze" outside of running.

Great review, thanks! I was using Bose Soundsport, and because they didn't break, I kept using them. Recently they just died (I blame sweat & humidity). I have been using my Airpods Pro - which have been absolutely awesome *except* when I stretch after the run: I think having your head upside down is too much to ask of a bud that has no loop or wingtip! Beats Fit Pro it is, as soon as they launch here in Aus. I'm a little worried about the IPX rating, but since I mainly run on a treadmill indoors, it's not enough to sway me away from that sweet Apple ecosystem effect.

Great review, have you tried the Jabra elite 7 pro? They’re actually a little smaller than the elite 7 active and have the same IP57. Would love to see you review if possible!

I have this over a week now. I discovered two things. When listenIng metal music, for example Harvester of sorrow by Metallica, there is close to none cymbal sound. I compared to my existing earbuds difference is huge. Secondly, vocals, especially women and highs in general is too harsh it even hurts my ears to listen for a long period of time. Is my unit defective? What do you think?

I bought these when they launched. I initially liked them but the right one won’t stay in my ear after sweaty workouts or runs. I tend to have this problem with most headphone. I’ll stick to the Powerbeats pro.

Did you experience the occlusion effect with the Vista 2’s? When I was running all I could hear was footsteps, thumping and my own heart beat (louder than the music at 80%) haha.. and compared to the Vista 2’s what is the occlusion effect with these beats? I know the AirPods Pro introduced “vent” technology to minimise this and wondered if that’s in the beats too?

Hi King Life Tale, we didn't have any occlusion on the Vista 2s or the Beats Fit Pro. But it's not something we tend to find with in-ears. Might be down to the fit in our ears. Don't think they have the vent tech though.

Would you recomend these over the Vista 2's if you were using an android over and apple phone? I have an android as well as the beats fits pro but I don't like how they don't automatically connect to my phone when they are out of the case, the inability to use findmy, and the left earbud sometimes starts to get loose during sprinting or heavy lifts even with the biggest ear tip. I also find the case hinge a bit flimsy that I have to be careful with it. Other than that the sound quality is awesome and the anc and call quality really is steller compared to others I have tried. If the fit pro had the ipx rating, findmy, and app of the Vista 2 I would pick it in a heartbeat.

Thanks guys but I still can’t make my mind up 😂 main thing for me is fit and ANC, If the beats had a case like the vista and the ip rating was also as good I’d go beats. Not that bothered about personal EQ. 🤔

Hi Mike (Kieran here) Fit is as good, if not better than the Vista 2. ANC is probably on a level. Though I'll admit I'm not the best judge of this as my ears seem to block out a lot of sound just from the fit of the gels on most buds. Very welcoming ear canals apparently!

Do they actually both charge unlike the Power Beats Pro? My left pro charges maybe 5% of the time. 😩

I'll be honest... I'm surprised that your headphone reviews don't mention the IPX rating, because it does matter a lot as it can influence the battery life or behavior under cold temperatures. I had Powerbeats (non pro) and just like these, they are rated IPX4 (resistant to water splashes from any direction - For reference, Most of good running headphones are either IP68 or IPX7). I noticed (like many others) that as soon as temperature would dip below -4/-5c (I live in Canada and temperatures dip to -25c, which my Aeropex or Soundcore handle without any issues), they would randomly shut down and I had to return them.

Has anyone with LONG HAIR treated these out? When sweaty hairs touch the buttons will they be activated and make a mess? It happens all the time with galaxy buds live, so I only use Powerbeats pro for running and dancing because of the physical buttons.

Hi... this is a really good question. At least three of us in the The Run Testes wish we had the hair to do this test but sadly not. Though these are button presses rather than the kind of capacitive touch controls that might mistake wet locks for a tap.

Android users: will the beats app conduct a hearing test when first used? I'm a little hearing impaired in one ear, and need to adjust the balance.

Disagree with the vista 2 recommendation specifically for android users. The software is awful. Consistent drops of either 1 or both buds. Can't switch between apps without having to disconnect Bluetooth and reconnect which is very frustration. Box it self warns android users. Wish I got the beats or bose sports.
