I was just outta undergrad and was OBSESSED with electronica, as it was know en masse back then. there was house, which was a revelation to my young ears, and Norman cook was a master at the time of his ahead-of-it-time sounds.. he eventually had to cater to the US masses, thus becoming Fat Boy Slim, where he produced a few dope floor hits: missy Elliot and Gossip Fold was arguably his best.. HOWEVER, this track was SICK and when he slayed the entire production on Heavy Rhyme Experience, where he collabed with, of course, the brand new heavies (not my favorite up to that point; think a better version of M BOX - gag me with a fork) and created that non digitezed, fully band backed, release that was basically 90% FIRE (pharcyde: jump the shark a lot?) HOWEVER: his earlier shit like this one here and of course 'dub be good to me' under his BEATS INTERNATIONAL, as well as many other sick remixes and productions, made him a HERO in my mind....FORGET MOBY, forget those other followers and swollowers, Norman cooke was the shit and was one of my first, and current, love affairs when I listen to music that is basically some killer dub step, stale, repeated, shallow, and mysogenistic aF hipPOP that will, eventually go POP! except you DANILIEGH!!
