I spent 27 yrs in Maine. You missed sooooo much. Next time drive US RT#1 all the way up the coast. I lived in a small town called Bucksport which has a bridge with an observation tower in it. At the base there is Fort Knox which is a unique fort that was built to protect the Penobscot River from the advancement of the French. There are lots of off the beaten path things to see and do in Maine. Bar Harbor is very touristy and just a small taste of what the "REAL MAINE"hasto offer. I liked the video though. I now live in sunny TN and enjoy what the south has to offer. Thanks for the videos of your trip, they are great.

Thanks so much.. I don't think a day goes by I don't have some sort of fond memory of New England. I just love it there. Rhode Island is probably my favorite. We plan a drive to Montreal and Quebec City in the future. It would be fantastic to drive through Vermont then and do so in the fall.. Thanks again.

First things first. CONGRATS how exciting... Yes definitely made a great choice. Although I am old and to stiff to do as much hiking as we used to, we saw folks rock climbing, and kayaking along the wonderful rocky shore, we saw folks hiking and biking and more... Yes Acadia is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen you made an excellent choice. I have seen several Merrell ads for hiking and running shoes credited/filmed there.
@dmccoig Probably a hitch the RU-vid getty up :) My senior class trip was a cruise to the Bahamas. About 150 went and the first night the seas were really rolling. Only me and one other guy were at the first dinner....the rest were in their rooms having their own Festival of Nausea.

we spend a week there every year. you have to be there at the right time to see puffins, and if you had seen them, you would have had a different opinion about the whale watch. they are amazing little birds. so curious, they fly right up to the boat.

Your video came up thru a google search while doing some research for an impromptu trip to Bar Harbor and Bass Harbor from our home in Ontario, in a couple of weeks.It looks lovely and is exactly what we are looking for.
