Louise, I loved how the sweet peas turned out. I loved the lighter pinks and purples. What a precious story about your mom and dad, and you continuing to grow them for her just probably means the world to her. I always love your projects, even when you don't think they come out good they always look beautiful to me lol. 🤩💖
I have also learned to seal flowers a few hours before using them in resin. I seal them with either satin or shiny spray polyurethane sealant. I often recolor with alcohol ink flowers I have dried and then sealed them with spray sealant of some sort without any problems. If you don’t seal the flowers they either turn translucent or if dyed the dye can release into the resin.
Actually, Louise, I quite like those micro bubbles. They remind me of dew on the flowers first thing early morning, or perhaps droplets left behind after a gentle rain. I love the sweetpeas. They're gorgeous.

I love both projects Lou. You can spray your flowers with hairspray or a clear spray bomb to seal them. Your Mom is going to Love the Sweet Peas❤ Take great care and keep creating and smiling xoxo ❤

Very pretty. My mother who grew all kinds of roses, bulbs and annuals throughout her life, at the end of her life was obsessed with sweet peas for no particular reason. For her 80th birthday we ordered some from _Italy_ of all places because they were well out of season here in the States. We should've just dried some and done what you did!😂

I love how you show the reality of these projects. I make silk flowers and will have to try this technique with those (though I’m a little worried about the dyes I use on the silk bleeding into the resin…tiny sample first!)

I think the lilac color is beautiful. I know it isn't what you hoped, but it is pretty. I have had the unfortunate surprise of flowers having been dyed, only it tinged all the resin. I had red and white roses and they all turned pink, but not a pretty pink. Hard to explain, but it was a strange hue. I now pull a petal off and do a test in an old coaster mold before big projects. (Not too full, just enough to see if they pulled a dye job.) Like you say, live and learn!
I love sweet peas also…. Unfortunately I can’t grow them in Florida, but they grow wild in Michigan, where I’m originally from… I think both projects were beautiful!!! I agree with your husband, they look like 60’s acrylic….

I think the white flowers are Bridal wreath spirea. I have the tree bush in my yard...I'm not sure though I would need to see up close...but never know Lol beautiful work anyway!!
Louise, have you tried using a microwave drier? They take minutes to dry. Not tried myself but I've been told it preserves their colour extremely well.
