The translation is very messy, and sometimes simply missing translation of a word or two, or sometimes totally mis translated. Takes you out of the beautiful meaning of that chapter.

Many meanings are lost in translation when it comes to the Quran. Arabic nouns have a grammatical case and it's possible to express an idea clearly with very few words. Many sentences don't have verbs for instance. Most of the Quran verses rhyme and there is a lot of repetition and contrast, words with the same root are used in different contexts to mean different things, it can be very subtle. Nouman Ali Khan has good series studying Quran verses with a focus on the word choice.

Even if you try to recite the Holy Quran in the English it will not work out. The reason the Holy Quran was revealed in Arabic is due to its unparallel linguistic features and vocabulary. In Arabic just one word can have deep meanings which can be written as a whole sentence in English. Just imagine A horse has more than 700 names in Arabic, that much is the vastness and vocabulary of this language. Also, when the Quran was revealed to Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) he was not able to read or write, he didn't have formal education, and Arabs at that time were master in their language, they were at top of their poetry. But when they listened the Quran for the first time even, they were stunt and amazed by the aliquant and beauty the Quranic language. And that is the reason also because it's the word of Allah, you will see many people (even non-Muslims) when they listen to the Quran (even not knowing the Arabic and its meanings) it has so much impact on their hearts that they start crying (tears start dropping) without any reason.

Yes the english translation of the Qur’an can’t do justice to the Qur’an, Arabic is a very complex language so much so that one word in Arabic can translate into a full sentence in english. If Allah sent down the Qur’an in English it would have to be hundreds of pages longer than it is.

My brother in humanity, It's okay to not resonate with the concept of hell. The Qur'an presents knowledge from the seen and the unseen. Hell is of the unseen and the Qur'an presents it as the truth, wether we like the concept of it or not. Judge the truthfulness of what it says about the unseen based on the seen and what we can observe. It's a good thing that you're looking into Islam as a religion despite your personal inclinations. Because hell could be true wether we subscribe to that concept or not. One more thing, it's true that there are many warnings in the Qur'an. The Quran states multiple times in various occasions that it came as a reminder, a warning and a giver of good news. That's the core purpose of the Quran. So if you feel like youre constantly being warned, that's what the Quran is supposed to do.
