Colonia Alemán has a reputable veterinarian. Veterinaria Duarte. Over 40 years experience. My friend has known him for decades and his animals have gone to him during that period. In my opinion there is no situation that he cannot handle. I have been to a few other veterinarians in Merida. Useless! Even the emergency hospitals. One emergency hospital veterinarian tried to get an extra 1,500 pesos or so from me when I went to pick up my cat. Even though I'd paid in advance and was told that I'd only pay for medication when I come back. And I had proof that I'd paid and I believe an estimate for medication on the paper. The money she was trying to get was not for medication either and she was very nasty once I held my ground. She wasn't the veterinarian I saw initially, and she refused to call that veterinarian to confirm. I guess she'd figured that as a foreigner I'd just timidly hand her an extra 1,500 pesos with no questions. I had to start filming at a point as I realized that this was not a normal situation. This was early 2023. I have zero financial incentive for promoting the veterinarian in Alemán. As a pet parent for many years I know the stress involved in trying to find the right veterinarian!

It’s a nice house. Very clean and maintained. Is it over priced? Not sure. But, I pay 15,000 pesos and I live 20 minutes outside of Chapala for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with washer dryer and in ground pool. Rooftop deck. 12 ft walls with landscaped yard and electric gate. Maybe Merida has gotten more expensive than Chapala. Hope it hasn’t for you guys sake. Thanks Cartess. Nicely done.

I really like that this above ground pool is cement. It makes it look so much nicer than the ones you typically see here in the US. Ok so further into the video I’m noticing all the bars on the windows. Even upstairs. Do you know the reason for the bars, or should that be self explanatory? 😊
