Ms. Cassidy, My sister and I love Ballindooley castle, it is simple but elegant. I love the military fortress style castles. The person who renovated it did it justice. The concern though is, that it is only a few feet from the road. I wonder if the road has high traffic? Did this ever pose any problem for the current owner? My sister and I are retiring in another year, and we have been looking at historical properties in Ireland, because we would love to retire there. We love medieval properties and their history. If you are still wondering about the castle and the volume of traffic , The castle is located on one of the most heavily congested road`s into galway city .I pass by the castle almost daily . A nightmare during rush hour .The estate agent seemed to forget to tell you about that . Hope that you have found somewhere nice to enjoy your retirement .
