The valley is so peaceful away from the chaos of the cities. I was in Ukraine in 2012. A wonderful experience. Prayers to Ukraine. Prayers that your lovely valley will always be tranquil. Your little pup is adorable - I bet he/she brings many smiles and comfort as all pets do. I wish him/her many happy days.
Ah yes.. very peaceful.. there is high level of illegal deforestation in Ukraine, especially in Carpatian mountain region, even Ukrainian people call their mountains "naked mountains".. because of this there is more and more empty areas without wild animals that used to live there in those forests before they were cut down.. Even before the war, Ukraine was very corrupt and the government took little care of the infrastructure in those valley areas.. almost impossible to find any public transport if you need to go to school university or to hospital, and few people who have cars do not drive them as they will be broken down badly after passing over huge potholes.. It is good for people who are quite self-sufficient .. but quite a bit of things need to be bought and brought home, flour, sugar, salt, medicines for chronic diseases and a whole list for older people .. if you are young, healthy, don`t have children and manage to go to POland or Germany and work 4 or 5 months, then you can survive in the mountains rest of the year like this..
@@shitmir Thank you for your information. Deforestation is happening everywhere it seems. In Borneo, I did a project in 1995 with the orangutans who are arboreal forest animals. Even then, and although it was and is illegal, corruption has been rampant and the mentality is survive today, tomorrow will come. Now the deforestation is because of palm oil plantations and the depletion of natural habitat for the animals is fragmented or reduced. This by itself can cause food limits, inbreeding, human-wildlife conflicts, etc. it angers and saddens me to no end. I have fond memories of Ukraine. I do remember witnessing broken down cars, but I didn’t realize the deforestation was occurring. What mankind is doing to Mother Earth is a complete tragedy.
