She is one of the most underated sitar ustad of the current generation. Thanks to Darbar, that you are giving value to artist who are in reality not given value in their own country. We indians love classical music but no mainstream TV channels does regular program on classical music.
the raag.bhatiyar.has healing effects on our mind.it helps in recovery From depression and mental illness.it is the hardwork of mita ji that brings out the vibes .thx.

Thank you from Australia. I just showed it to my 11 year old who is learning guitar. He was very impressed. Thank you for going through the pain of making such beautiful videos available.
Many thanks for posting this. Thankfully, this was recorded amazingly well. I was lucky enough to see Mita Nag and her father, the great Manilal Nag, in concert in Toronto, in the early 2000's. Still one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Mita is a truly great and mature sitarist, and as such is a wonderful representative of the Vishnupur gharana.
i love this raag and Mita really worked it. her right hand technique in the jhala was outrageous! thx for putting the work in on getting great audio and video on this.

We're now adding raga information to the video descriptions for our whole channel - click 'show more' above for a brief rundown of Raag Bhatiyar. However it's important we remember that raga theory comes after their creation - they're aesthetic concepts as much as technical/theoretical ones, and will vary from musician to musician and place to place. Bhatiyar is often considered to be a particularly complex raga, due to its swara material (set of available notes) and vakra (zig-zag) melodic patterns. We recommend sitarist-scholar Deepak Raja's short essay for further reading (swaratala.blogspot.com/2011/07/raga-bhatiyar.html), as well as Rajan Parrikar's blog post (www.parrikar.org/hindustani/bhatiyar/). Enjoy!

loved her father's music #ManilalNag , her's is just as fine and i dont know if its true that female instrumentalists give a diff vibe from male, or if its that i am aware its a female, but somehow both her, and the daughter of Buddhadev Gupta's on sarod, give me a diff feel, as if the player has missing that special thing we call male ego (not that women by any means lack ego). something related to testosterone???
It's compassion. Comes naturally to women and the expression too. Men can take lifetimes to develop and a few years to further learn to express if they have it :)

Ads ? Seriously, Darbar? I'm fine with 2, 3, 5 ads in the beginning , but ads in between such involving music ? No sorry . Interruption is against the very essence of Indian classical music , if you can't make that available , just get out of the classical music business. Thanks but no thanks.🙏
