Königswinter is a town in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia with 41,065 inhabitants (31 December 2021), on the eastern side of the Rhine opposite the Bad Godesberg district of the federal city of Bonn . The city lies at the foot of the Siebengebirge with the striking Drachenfels and the Petersberg , which, as the location of the Federal Guest House , has often been the site of conferences with national and international exposure. According to state planning , Königswinter assumes the function of a medium-sized center .
