Since the imam didn't answer I'll give you my experience. If the reciter is a beginner then it'll take a lot of time to so that you can train ur and throat and ears, as well as to familiarize urself with a Maqam, but if he's advanced and trying to learn another maqam then it'll become easier depending on how close the maqam is to his previous learned maqams. As for imitating a style of a reciter then it depends on how well u know the maqam and how much experienced u are, because some reciters can bring certain pitches that others find hard to mimic
