The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" on its main stage in the new Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring TKA senior Gracie O'Connor (Belle), senior Casey Gustafson (Beast), junior Chris Pappas (Lumiere), senior Graham Popadic (Cogsworth), senior Kate Higgins (Mrs. Potts), and senior Sam Cornelius (Gaston), this performance showcased TKA’s fine young talent.
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Stephanie Revell (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

Love how she delivers her spoken lines. Normally other actresses only focus on the singing but this young girl imparts emotion in every line. Brava indeed!

Superb singing, just superb. Although just one thing that bothered me just a little; why is the actor playing the Maurice the same age as the actress playing Belle? Couldn't they have made him look older, like dye his hair white or put on a fake beard? 😄 Just seems a bit weird seeing a father and daughter with hardly any difference in appearance with age.

@@MKRhaenerya Sure, I understand. Although still, I think putting on a white wig or a fake beard would have been little more convincing to establish some age difference. Then again, I'm not the director here, so I'll leave it be. 😉
