Heyyy. I just wanted to quickly note that I’ve changed my camera and lighting setup. Got a new lens too. Although natural lighting is probably the truest representation of how our skin looks IRL, I wanted to use studio lighting so you can see more detail on my skin, tone, texture...PORES! I hope the subtle difference can help normalise all the normal things that belongs on our skin!
I love your more natural look :) although it makes your eyes look even more dreamy! Might have to watch out for hot fans chasing you lol (don’t worry, I’m not claiming to be hot, and wouldn’t be chasing anyway lol, happily married monogamously!) This looks like a fun idea!!
James Welsh - your skin looks great too. You mentioned the pores in your other post but that’s the last thing I noticed. All I saw was a clear fresh face surrounded of an excellent set up 🙃
I just want to thank you. Im terminal and bedridden while i do my IV treatments so watching your videos cheer me up. Also, my skin gets wrecked from severe dehydration and malnutrition so your tips help save my skin. Cause i still like to fake looking healthy.who says i cant look fabulous on my way out!! Thanks hun
@@JamesWelsh that's fair, of course you cant respond to everyone. But it is really nice of you to try. I know it makes a lot of people's day when their favorite creator responds!
If anyone's wondering - their liquid highlighter is ingredient-for-ingredient (with all the ingredients in the same order) the same as Iconic London's liquid highlighter for about £5 (£10 total with their mini subscription) and their bb cream is also the same as Charlotte Tilburry's Maybe you could get your brother to review their makeup and directly compare with the Iconic London highlighter!
@@elliemayjc I'm not sure - copy and paste the full ingredients list from the BeautyPie website into google and the correct charlotte tilbury bb cream should come up :)
It is not as straight forward in terms of payment. You don't get the products for your membership costs. Membership monthly payment just give you access to products at a membership costs and a spending limit per month. So you pay £20 per month + membership price for the products you pick + the shipping costs. The spending limit stops you from just buying all the products you are interested in at one go and cancelling your memberships. They were very kind during the lockdown and actually limited the membership costs to under a pound for their pre-existed members. Things like that make loyal customers! There are a lot of fragrances and silicones in skin care products for me, but make up is good, and brushes are amazing :) Just thought I'd share:)
Thank you for this. I had looked into Beauty Pie and chose not to subscribed for this reason. PamperedWolf has spoke highly of the service as well but I still feel like you should get something for the service charge each month.
Melissa Rainey the service charge allows you to buy very very high quality products at the price that it costs Beauty Pie to make them. They make no profits on the products as members buy them at cost price. Beauty Pie makes its profit solely on membership fees. It's a buyers club.
Oh, I purchased a membership because it came across that you only pay membership. Had I known that I wouldn’t have purchased. I guess I’m gonna see if I can get my money back
Thank you for this, I looked into beauty pie from this video and just left a comment myself. It isn’t “8 products for £20” as James says which sounds like an insane deal... plus it’s annoying that despite the fact that we pay the cheaper price, it’s the higher typical price that comes out of your allowance so really you can only get a couple of products each month unless you go for the expensive memberships like you say... sneaky. :(
6 month subscriber to Beauty Pie in California. Super retinol serum has been a GAME CHANGER for me. I mean I have bacne, scars (both bumps, pits), active bacne, as well discoloration from multiple infections all over my body. Scabies and shingles left both pits from biopsy scars and cystic bumps on my arms and shoulders. Extremely sensitive freckled skin. So we’re talking about a disaster zone in terms of skin on my body. I mix the serum with a dollop of simple hyaluronic acid body lotion. Apply it to my entire body stopping at the neck and ankles. And OMFG. Miraculous. Smoothing, rapid purging of bacne, discoloration visibly reduced after only two uses and ZERO....ZERO irritation. A retinol product has NEVER been tolerated by my skin. It’s time released in the super retinol serum, so I think that is why. Also their healthy hair products are incredible. My frizzy thin hair is loving it! The hand retinol cream is a must. Non greasy and effective. Try their face serum capsules too. Give it a try folks!
Music to my Ears, Yessss. "At BEAUTY PIE, we do not believe in or authorize animal testing for our products or the ingredients that go into our products. This means we do not do animal testing, our suppliers do not do animal testing, nor do we pay people to do animal testing for us."
I know right 😅 I’m the eyeing spf primer, retinol moisturiser and the Detox clay mask. I’ll probably go for the £10 option. I need to relax on my skin care spend 😭 I’d better come out of this pandemic looking like a glazed doughnut.
So far, this Beauty Pie concept is very interesting and I can relate to wanting to go back in time to invent something. I’d want to invent one of these social media platforms!
I'm on my 2nd month of Beauty Pie. I've been very happy with every skincare product I've tried so far. I have especially liked these: SUPER HEALTHY SKIN™ DAILY VITAMIN C DEFENSE SERUM, DR GLYCOLIC PORE-PURIFYING GLOW TONER, ÜBER YOUTH™ SUPER EYE ENERGY PEPTIDE-INFUSION CREAM, and the PLANTASTIC™ MICROPEELING SUPER DROPS. I've loved the makeup I've tried as well. Highly recommend giving it a go.
Since I started watching the Welsh brothers videos I have become a make-up and skincare enthusiast!! Thank you guys I really enjoy your videos!! Much love from Mexico ❤️
I have to agree. I used to be a member until I realised that I can hardly find any products without fragrance or alcohol. Also looking at the formulations in detail It became clear to me that the "typical" prices are inflated, I have serums that retail for less than that but are much better formulated and the active ingredients are higher up on the list, instead of being listed after the preservatives, as I noticed for beautypie products. I think in the end the member prices are what the products are really worth. Which is fine but it's not what they say, and also the cost of membership has to be taken into account. I recommend the lowest subscription only, I had the highest one and I bitterly regret it because I hardly found anything worth buying. I do like the one powder wonder...
I’m so glad Beauty Pie has your approval 😂I lovvveee their products - one of my favourite skincare products prom them is the Jeju Daily mist and the Uber Youth serum. Their Great Skin foundation too is a life changer (and the BB cream for lighter/good skin days!). Also their fake tan is next level gorgeous and doesn’t have that typical fake tan smell and is super natural!! I tend to get a few bits from them every 3ish months - you’re totally right, there’s so many good products on offer it’s hard to get through them all! Also the new lighting setup is fab xx
@@JamesWelsh I am a mum buying for me and the 2 kids and yes my credit card kinda hate you a tiny bit toke a hit with the kbeauty the other day) but I like you so we are ok love
You mentioned before you would like to try more UK brands, have you tried anything from facetheory? I got a couple of serums from them recently and really impressed so far!
@@fungirl0123456 I'm using porebright and loving it! Cruelty free, UK based, affordable, with great ingredients and good results so far... they definitely need some more reviews and recognition
I’m also obsessed with Beauty Pie for both skin and makeup. I love everything I’ve tried, but admittedly, my skincare routine falls into a different age demographic (I hate the word “mature.”). You might like the retinol hand cream, eye ceramides, and the eye energy cream for days. You might find the anti-aging healthy skin cream heavy, but for dry, mature skin it works. The cream eye shadow sticks and lip crayons are also my favorites.
And the JeJu Daily Hydration Mist (Hyaluronic Acid), and Super Retinol Eye Cream. I also think I pull off the stargazer/gray glitter liner and will fight anyone that says otherwise,,..
Great reviews but I don't think you made the pricing structure clear. You'd pay £20/month for access to be able to buy products *at members' prices up to a limit*, the limit being based on non-members' prices. So if you paid £20 a month membership, you could buy eg four products whose non-members' price would be £50 each (total £200), but you would pay members' prices eg £10 each. £20 membership and £40 on products. I've been a member for a while and have really enjoyed their products.
I have a major addiction to subscription beauty boxes, you have become my enabler James. Looks like I'm going to be searching them out and adding to my other boxes, I'm already getting a box a week. Getting 5 boxes of 5 to 8 beauty products depending on the company is really fun, it's like getting a weekly birthday gift!💙💙
Patricia, right?? I get so excited pulling the products out one by one!! I never customize my boxes either because I want it to be a total surprise every time!! 😉
I’ve tried beauty pie and my favorite things are the japanfusion cream cleanser and their candles. I cancelled my membership because I was really interested in their skincare, but since almost all of their products are heavily scented, I ended up not being able to use them.
I love their Vitamin C super capsules and their SPF. Also been really liking some of the makeup particularly the skin tint with spf & the concealer! I just got my second month box delivered and bought some of the fragrances, LOVE & the red apple scents are gorgeous!
I've been looking at the website for about a year but just hadn't heard enough about them. I'm so happy you did this video!! Going to sign up and give them a try now.❤❤
I’ve used Beauty Pie for a while and I’m so glad you did this video - for me the japanfusion cleanser and the retinol moisturiser are the products I buy again and again
I have been using Beauty Pie for a year now, and love the Super Retinol line, I use it every night, the hand cream is perfect. I also agree, the cleansing balm is wonderful, I will never buy anything else. The Japanfusion cleanser is so nice, and the Jeju cleansing milk is beautiful too. I think these products are really good, and we really don't need to pay a fortune for quality skincare. Bravo James!
I've been a member of beauty pie for a while now and I'm always impressed with their skincare 🙌🏻 I've always loved the cleansing balm too but I'm going to try the cleanser and the serum for sure!
I loooove Beauty Pie! Also worth mentioning is that their customer service is absolutely the loveliest and they message people back on Insta very quickly
The lighting is great! Im so glad this is an option for those of us who love to try new skincare but not break the bank. (Side note:Your background has been making me want to change my bedroom up to the same kind of purple-y black vibes for months now!!)
Yay! Had been waiting patiently for your opinion on BP (even though I've been a member for almost 2 years now) :) I reaaaally love the Japanfusion cleanser, the ceramide capsules are an absolute joy to use, the Qi overnight mask does wonders to my angry skin and the leather candle is the most indulgent sultry smell. They can hire me as a salesperson now, I'm ready.
Been a Beauty Pie member for 2 years now and I’ve gone through so many tubes of their Japan Fusion cleanser! Also makeup wise they have a perfect dupe for the Charlotte tilbury contour wand that they bought out a month or two before the actual CT one which I’ve honestly gone through 10+ tubes of. Also have every shade of their powder blushes and use them daily. So happy you’re shining a light on this brand 💕
Yes, I love that they can bring out makeup items from the same labs more quickly than bigger brands, as they have so much less red tape/ad campaigns to plan/art direction/shelf placements to plan/etc.!
Just a heads up if you want to sign up you have to sign up for 3 months if you do the monthly membership. I was looking into it and for the 20 dollar level (I think that’s what one was) you’d have to spend 60 dollars to sign up. Idk how I feel about having to be locked into 3 months if I just want to try it for a month. :/
I just started Beauty Pie 2 months ago and I'm so thrilled they hired an influencer I trust to do a review! Typically I'm not into scented products because I get migraines, but I've found that their products don't trigger me. I have combination skin, and I've been happy with the Super Healthy Skin cleanser and the Japanfusion cleanser and hydra prep lotion. I didn't like the Japanfusion night cream (M3), it just sat on my face and felt sticky. I've also used the Dr. Glycolic toner, and it doesn't feel harsh like some other brands do. To me the exfoliating booties were a miss because there are cheaper brands in the USA that are more effective. I'm currently burning the Bergamot and Wild Basil candle, which smells suspiciously like a certain Jo Malone scent and I love it. Now I want to try the Retinol and the various capsule treatments...
Since I’ve been watching your videos I’ve been thinking that I need a proper skin care routine (currently it’s coconut oil as a make up remover and lush soap to cleanse 😬) but needed something reasonably priced and also recommendations. So long story short, I just bought everything! Thanks James ☺️
The Beauty Pie Dr. Glycolic toner was a game changer for me. My skin became really smooth and plump, and a small breakout was gone overnight after the first use. I'm also liking the Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Aging facial cream at night before bed.
I wanted to love Beauty Pie. After a few months, I finally gave up trying products because of the powerful fragrance. Japanfusion cleansing balm is an exception. Take out all that fragrance, and I'd be back.
Could you do a beard care video? My husband has finally gotten into skincare and I have no idea how to take care of a beard- lol!! Also, totally looking into Beauty Pie thanks to you!
I would love to see what retinol products you like! And since you got the same "type" of skin there's so many products I need but can't afford to try around 😅 Like a mudmask and what your favourite eye patches are.. Love all your videos and especially the k-beauty ones 💜 Hope shipito's working out for you!
I was thrilled to see you've checked out Beauty Pie. I have very sensitive skin and a friend told me of their site. I was skeptical at first, but have been a loyal happy customer for over a year. I use the Japanfusion skincare line and it's the first-ever not to dry my skin or cause redness and irritation.
Thank you so very much for yet another obsession! Seriously, thanks for all the wonderful recommendations on your very lovely videos. Easily half the skincare in my bathroom (and it's quite a lot) are things I've tried and loved after watching you. But this Beauty Pie is pure genius, can't wait to sign up! Christmas will come every month. ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been a beauty pie member for a few months and really liking it - haven’t tried a bad product yet. You’ve sold me on the plantastic balm! 🥰 The uber youth peptide eye cream is fab, and I’ve been enjoying layering it with the ceramide eye serum roll on 💁🏻♀️
Yay! So glad you have finally tried beauty pie! I love the super rentinol night cream too. I also really love the super active capsules range, particularly the vitamin C x
Also, I'm slowly trying to include the niacinamide + zinc from the ordinary, but I keep breaking out with cystic acne on my cheeks (just 2 this time), but I'm still giving it a chance because I'm not sure if it's purging or irritation. The first time I knew it was irritation because I used so much too fast and made my skin soooo sensitive to touch, even to water. I've learnt my lesson, but I'm going to include it for a while, but sloooowly and hope for the best because it has so many benefits! Xx
James... I finally decided to try this out... and I love it. I started with the skin cleanser Plantastic... it is great. The eyeshadow sticks (similar to Bobbi Brown, but way cheaper) are wonderful Plus, for getting lots of problems signing up, they gave me an extra $50 and included a foundation buffer brush which is dope. Thanks for your reviews, which demonstrating the products, is way better than a person just telling me like this or not.
I got the free foundation buffer too (because they ran out of their branded packaging). I like supporting businesses with solid customer service and I'm so thrilled that one of the few RU-vidr's I trust did a BP review. Also, FYI, there is a makeup reviewer on on RU-vid called Jen Phelps who has done some comparison swatches with BP's eye shadow sticks and Laura Mercier's caviar sticks. You may find those videos helpful (or not) :).
Hey James, you should make a video of top 5 of all your favourites again so it’d be helpful for beginners who started their skin care during the quarantine. I watched a lot of your old videos during the last 3 months and would love to hear about your current faves.
I had beauty pie for a little while, my only issue was that a lot of the stuff that is popular tends to be sold out so I was having to wait for long periods for them to come back in stock. Apart from that I really liked it
As a packaging designer for skincare brands, i have seen how long it takes to produce products. the whole process of producing the formula, to producing the packaging and then filling it (often all in dofferent countries) and then getting the products into packages and into fulfilment centers can take months or even a year. If they weren't expecting a product to sell well then it makes sense that they wouldnt be able to refill it quickly, but now that they know the product os popular they can better plan ahead to make sure its always in stock.
Price point on UK/US sites $59/£59 yearly membership is not the same, I thought they are a UK based company? I contacted them to voice this view pointing out UK based companies like Revolution Beauty & Inkey List roughly charge the consumer the same in both countries. Their reply was they do not take currency conversion into consideration? Most of their product is manufactured in Europe! Oh well. Overcharged in the UK as usual. Shame.
Omg this is so spooky... i was literally going to see where I should comment on your insta to ask about Beauty Pie cos I really don't know anything about them and I'm curious 😂 Getting witchy vibes right now 🧙🏽♀️
I’m not sure how I feel about paying to be able to buy stuff....would I pay to go into a shop? I don’t think I would....something about it just doesn’t sit well with me. Great looking video though xx
I really love Beauty Pie! I don't use skincare with essential oil or fragrance, so it limits my options a bit. But their retinol range is superb and free of those things. Also, super healthy skin cleanser, Japan Fusion cleanser and super healthy skin lotion are amazing. It really becomes incredibly useful when it comes to make up. It's brilliant quality!!! Very high end. They also do supplements now too - fish oils, vitamin d etc.
Hey James, what is your opinion about K-beauty products and J-beauty products? I personally find the both are actually quite similar in philosophy and methods.
Can you please do a video on your favourite fragrance free products? I have very sensitive/rosacea skin and am struggling so much to create a fragrance free routine. I am sure a lot of ppl would appreciate this video! Thank you :) PS. Love your new lighting 😍
I am a beauty pie member and would def recommend the vit c serum and the night oil. I really want to try the Hyaluronic acid but it’s always sold out! I have the £5 membership and that is fine if you don’t buy every month and to be honest you probably won’t need to as the serums come in 50ml bottles.
I LOVE my Beauty Pie Products. The Super Active Capsules (I like them all), JapanFusion Line, and Plantastic Lines are all my favorites. I also love the eye ceramide stick. The Fragrances are also GREAT for the price!!
Honestly love so much from beauty pie. The candles are amazing. I love the QI Energy sleep mask, the dr glycolic pads, the Japanfusion range is what I’m using right now and I love it. And the fresh glow setting spray for making me glow when I’m having a weird dry patch.
Your intro has always been soothing, very bedroom and almost ASMR. 😂 You're so diligent at uploading. I hope this is available here in the Philippines! 🤗
Could you do another update when you have tried some more products please? I found the way you explained ingredients really helpful! I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the superactive capsules (vitamin c or ceramide) as I find they just sit on my skin and don’t sink in but maybe I’m not using them correctly!
I do hope he does more updates on these! as a side note, i sometimes mix in my palm the superactive capsules [vit c usually] with another serum to shift the texture a bit. the ceramides they suggest using on freshly exfoliated skin, and allowing ~15 minutes for them to sink in before moving onto any other steps. i tend to use them when ive done a really thorough exfoliation, or if i've ever irritated or compromised my skin barrier...they are super calming and helpful in that regard.
Pleasantly surprised they have a U.S. version with exactly the same pricing tiers, when I run out of my or low of my skincare stash going to check them out.
Would you consider doing some tips on skincare for when you’re wearing a mask? (The protective kind, not the fun serum kind) I feel like mine is a lot more irritated since I’ve been back to work and wearing a mask all day.
I was a member of Beauty Pie and I cancelled (not because of the products) but because I was stockpiling too much! My favorite products were the Japanfusion cleanser (I miss that terribly - it’s beautiful) and the vitamin c capsules , I may rejoin one day but have way too many products to use up before I do! 😄
I don’t know why but Super Retnol Vitamin C Moisturizer makes me wake up so oily 🥲 though I like how it changed my skin. My skin tone became more even, it looks healthier. But ooooh this oiliness
@@JamesWelsh omg!!🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 U replied ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️❣️♥️♥️♥️❣️❣️❣️❣️ I will definitely use your advice.. You are such a sweetheart 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Wow I had no idea this existed. What a great idea! There is so much money spent on marleting and advertising these days, its refreshing to see a company trying to bypass that and give us the most affordable price they can.
