Roxy Music performing Beauty Queen at the Newcastle City Hall on the Country Life Tour in1974. This track from their second album "For Your Pleasure" was not performed again after this tour ended until 6th May 2015.
We’re lucky that we get Roxy as not many do, I’ve listening to Bryan and Roxy since the early 70s and will never stop. My kids have been brought up them and appreciate their quality. Beauty Queen is brilliant as are most of their songs - viva RM.

I was there that night, at that time this band was one of the best on the planet, the music was tight and complex. Out of the blue pierced your soul. Brian has definitely lost the depth a kind of harsh richness that was there, later renditions of early work suffer in my humble opinion.
Wow, thanks for this. Bryan's voice in the 1970s was an amazing, powerful instrument. Is it really true this wasn't performed again until May 2015? I feel very lucky to have seen/heard him sing it in Liverpool that month.
I saw this beautiful song played live long ago at London Rainbow but never again until 2016 at Bryan Ferry’s LA show where I almost fell off my chair! Let’s all hope Roxy Music does Beauty Queen on their upcoming tour🤞🏻🙏🏻
I'm getting on a bit now, but if memory serves me right I was one of the stewards that night working under Bob Taylor, head Honcho of all the stewards, with my mate Ian Jefferies who got me the gig. Was already a RM fan from the start. Plymouth boy who moved up north for a while. Absolutely mad about RM from their first appearance on OGWT. They were fantastic. Will never forget,
Thanks for posting. I was at the City Hall that night-the place was absolutely bouncing by the end with that fantastic version of Do The Strand [as on Viva] Bryan's voice certainly was something special back then. This and Bowie at City Hall in 73 are my 2 favourite memories of those golden years.
