Thank you for taking us on your adventures of unclogging beaver dams! It’s beautiful scenery, and the water release is so satisfying! The drone footage is amazing! Great job keeping up with these pesky beavers! 👍👍😃🇺🇸

The beavers sure are tenacious! They have met their match with you and might as well just move away. Loving your videos!

Do not lose that pole and leave other long poles at the other pipes. Also, the pipe clearing looks like one of the Drain Addict's job.

It's working. Maybe next time bring a cordless drill and drill holes in it. The concept is great. Love you videos stay safe, be careful out there.

In water intakes, both in hydroelectric and thermoelectric plants, we use a grid to prevent clogging of the water intake pipe. Perhaps a few branches placed like a fence could prevent large objects from clogging up your pipe. A suggestion.

Good point ;)

Same on our pump stations. Except the grid ( needle racks ) had openings big enough that a 2"x4" chunk of wood could go thru. And come out the other side all chewed up. Our props were 8' in diameter with 6" of clearance and solid cast bronze.

Nice. So, when the water coming out of the pipe is much darker than the pond, you are removing debris from the pipe. It’s flow should be improving at that time. And angled pipe , that is a simple turn is generally called an ELBOW. Just like the middle of your arm. 90 degree elbow, is a 90 degree turn. Sometimes a 45 degree elbow is also used in situations where flow is high and you need to keep back pressure lower. If the pipe goes two directions, and is shaped like the letter T, it is called a TEE. So, beavers use instinct mostly when clogging streams and rivers. If you put 90 degree elbow extensions on your pipe. If you point the extensions down at each end. The pipe may make less noise. If so, It will attract less attention from the beavers. Make sure to make the central pipe very long. The farther from the damn the openings, the less attention the pipe will get.

Mantas, you are going the right way to defeat the furry beast 😀. I also think the community comments will help. You've got this!

Just get a length of french drain pipe and attach it to the incoming side. Personally, I would dig out the dam and add a second pipe with another length of french drain pipe placed at the bottom of the dam. Using a 90 degree elbow at the end is a good idea. PVC french drain pipe usually has two holes at about 135 and 225 degrees position when 0 degrees is at the top. Because the holes are on the bottom side I would expect the beavers to have a hard time plugging them all. However, if you manually drill holes in pipe at random locations you should achieve the same thing. But it really needs to be on a new pipe that sticks farther out from the dam.

The idea of an elbow angle is a good one as is perforation holes. You will defeat the beavers. LOL

When you were talking about angle at the end, did you mean slope? This seemed like a good time to use the drill you made in an earlier video.

They HEAR running water. They'll keep blocking that pipe. It needs to be quieter. Or changed.

Would your drill with a big corkscrew that you showed us a few days ago work it this case?

Do beavers ever give up and go somewhere else when you demolish their dams? Or do they practically always come back and rebuild?
@Kenislovas
@Kenislovas Год назад
They give up 30% of the dams :)

Sometimes you just have to rethink the approach to the situation. I know you do things your way which it great and it usually works for you, but this time I think the entire dam needs to be removed given the width of the water filled area. Maybe the people that are impacted by this could get someone with an excavator out once to clean it all up, then you could maintain it per usual.
@Kenislovas
@Kenislovas Год назад
In this place it's impossible to bring excavator. The pipe which is in the dam must be a bit upper like in the middle of dam height.
