HELLO Dale!!! Good to see ya still kickin and putting out all the good info. Was kind of disappointed though when I didn't hear the word "WASPY" anywhere in the entire video, lol. That word which is old school I'd forgotten about and you brought it back into my vocabulary. Waspy really defines the TRAP SMART Beaver in so many ways. 😂 Hope the Family and Yourself are doing well with the crap Summer weather. Hopefully see you in Sioux Falls come July. I sincerely appreciate ya for everything my Friend!!!

You're doing such a great job! The old intro was funny, but it would turn off some folks. You're dressed well. You're monologues are improving, too. RU-vid master, coming up here!

Noticed you mentioned gnats bothering you. Don’t know if y’all have the same ones that we have in Louisiana (buffalo gnats) but the best remedy that I have found is Vaseline. Smear a coat on your face, ears and neck and they won’t land on you. They’ll just swarm around. I hate them damn things. I’ve tried off, skin so soft, etc. deet don’t work. Great video as always! Thank you for your knowledge.

Even here in southern Canada, I don't think I've been able to get on ice to trap the last few winters, even if I wanted to. Winters are weird now

Rarely spoken of or mentioned, but it is most true that them beavers are very sensitive to disturbance near their living quarters. Once again, thanks for more great advice.

I’ve never considered there would be that many in a colony. If I can snag 2 big adults and a couple 2-year olds, I figured I got the bulk of the ones causing the damage. Haha, I never even considered there might be a couple more in each category when I start setting the area.

The pituitary gland (master gland) governs a lot of the activity that the beaver live by. Changes in sunlight length causes hormonal increases and decreases. The ice out, first thumder storm, warm water etc.may be the environmental "starter's gun" to see the activity but w/o the sunlight increase or decrease these activities will not occur to the levels we see. From dam building to dispersal that sunlight governs a lot of animal life functions (egg laying, molting, fur primeness, migration etc.). A lot of those beaver with cuts or are battle scarred in the spring are done in a den if ice bound due to the inability to get dispersed. We all have seen that in long hard winters. Same with dam construction ---- very little activity UNTIL the autumnal equinox with equal, then decreasing sunlight and in approx. 10-15 days an environmental "trigger" sets a construction job to colony members brain. A dam appears almost overnight by young beaver who have no experience with winter survival. Not disagreeing with you, just quantifying that the pituitary - linked to a work, a dominating or an inactivity hormone is the culprit, and we (you and I) see and make note of the triggers. My experience........................... the mike
