I experienced a narcissist for 18 months but only part time really. I was being self destructive in some ways in my own life and wasn't living life to the fullest. Getting with the narcissist at the time I did sparked a change in me. I stopped the self destructive behaviors and began working on myself. I never let him put me beneath him low enough for him to be truly satisfied. He had to do a lot of mental gymnastics to get me beneath him. He knows I'm strong. I just didn't know how strong I was and what a strong support system I have. I learned I've been co dependant most of my life and now I'm learning to let that go. He's suffering and I'm not.

It was like a 3rd eye was opened and I see and recognize narcissism everywhere. I used to think it was a curse, but it was definitely a blessing. Thank you Mamisotrue from one warrior to another. I discarded the narc 4months ago and now I know that I am on my way to true peace and happiness. I got married so young that I hardly knew who I was or what I wanted. Now I am older and wiser and now after my experience with the narc I definitely know what I DONT want and I thank him for that. Now I am learning to love myself first and find my self worth. He didn't succeed in destroying me because I got up and took my power back like a phoenix rising from the ashes in true Scorpio style.
