I can't believe Arie said that what a bunch of bullshit! He has no control of what the franchise of a bachelor and bachelorette decide on he's a crumb...
Uh...not really true. Does he make final decision of bachelor or bachelorette...no. But he knows the formula of the next contestant usually after a painful break up. And that is exactly the role play that Arie fell into and even agreed to with the pimp Chris Harris production who likely coaxed him into the televised break up even if Arie did not realize how much of it will be seen. A lot of this came out in tid bits of interviews even though Arie would never throw the Franchise under the bus. So he is compensated in other ways for playing ball while ABC exploit them both for ratings. And don't think that Becca did not think of bachelorette as she continued to let the cameras follow her home.

Because she wins in the end. She seems super sure she was the better person. She scoffed at Lauren from day one as being not on her level. Well, that also made her look bad.
Arizona Skywatch No, that's not it at all. It's how scary and convincing he was about marrying Becca. When he knew he wasn't being honest with her. He told her one thing and thought another. It's just creepy. Just don't take it from me take it from the whole country in their response towards him.
This is just a theory of course, but does anyone else think the whole thing was planned at some point during filming and Arie and Lauren (maybe even Becca herself!) were in on it that he’d choose Becca on the finale BUT it would just be for the sake of ratings and setup for an epic Bachelorette announcement and season? Look back on some of the things that happened, they almost look too “poetic” to have it not be set up. He was hot for Lauren from the start but she didn’t get much screen time due to the dumbass story lines of Young Bekah and Villian Krystal. During one of his first on-screen “deeper” conversations with Lauren, he says to her “my biggest fear is choosing the wrong person.”.. Becca became a fan favorite with her funny, light-hearted personality and because of the past hardships she has endured. At the end when he chose Becca, the final rose fell out of her hands and appeared to fall apart, almost symbolic of what was to come. Arie seemed so far detached from the situation when he “dumped” her. Also the cameras were still rolling at their “safe house” getaways. When have we ever seen footage like that? And how the hell do you go from telling someone you love them 6 weeks prior, just to essentially throw them away and say you want her to go on to be the Bachelorette with 25 new guys fawning over her. It’s all just really freakin weird. I’m still a fan of the show lol i mean it’s my guilty pleasure and i like Becca and I’ll be watching her season, but I just don’t know what’s real and what’s not with this show. I don’t think anyone truly does or ever will.
Jayne Karinova, It appears you put a lot of thought into this, but to answer your question I don't know. It would make me feel better if it was all planned because I don't want to think Arie could be that cold blooded. If so, there's no telling what else he is capable of. But Becca seemed to be really devastated by the breakup, as was Lauren when she didn't get the final rose. They are both amazing women except only one could get the final rose and proposal.
Dev Carter Becca did seem devastated and she did cry and all but she kept her composure better than any woman could ever hope to in that kind of situation. Now that could have been because she knew the cameras were rolling, or it could have been because she knew it was coming anyway. Or she may just truly be the ultimate class act. I for one would have probably started screaming at him to leave and likely have told the camera crew to politely get the f*** out lol. But that’s just me assuming how I’d be in that situation, and we’re all different. Arie didn’t seem one bit affected. Not in the least. And it looked like he kept lingering so that cameras could keep rolling, not because he had anything left to say. I dunno, I could go on and on about it lol 😂 I think I must have been a detective in a former life because I love trying to get to the bottom of stuff like this 😂😂 And yes, I have put entirely too much thought into it lol.. I suppose I have a little too much time on my hands at the moment.
Jayne Karinova, I like the part about you would have started screaming and yelling at the camera crew. I could just see it...stop the cameras, stop the f*cking cameras. LOL. I think that would have been a natural response for most people. Also throwing a glass or lamp at him would have been natural. Now that would have been a very entertaining episode.😂😂😂😂
becca is so amazing, she dodged a bullet. i didn't even want her to win because she was always way too good for arie. and i'm living for this photo shoot because she's wearing pants lmao me
ABC made sure that Becca would be just fine after she allowed them to continue filming for almost 1/2 hour as she allowed them to keep filming instead of throwing them out and locking herself in the bathroom. And they continued their exploitation as they continued to film her through the airport returning home and even putting that dang camera in her face on the plane. Yes, Arie and Becca had to be aware of the next potential bachelorette contestant as they played ball for tacky ratings boosts.
He simply picked the wrong girl. He felt he loved them both, his family leaned toward Becca, so he went with that choice. The problem was he couldn't stop thinking about having dumped Lauren. It became clear that she was the one he loved more. Although Becca was very hurt, of course he should have corrected his choice. Why should he have kept Becca when they would've only broken up later. Better not to let it go on further. Not that heartless, just an unfortunate wrong choice.
Arie is the type of man to never settle down. Don't let him fool you. He might marry Ms. Boring but he will have a roving eye a couple of years into the marriage and when the cameras are off.
You know whats really funny??? No one caught the episode where he was with his family and own his father had said to him he needs a kick in the ass. I MEAN HIS OWN FATHER said that!.. Hes had a history of being a"BAD" BOY" from a few prior relationship AND had been caught driving under a suspended licence history and what do they say about BAD boys ladies??? Women chase them, but they behave BADLY so lets hope LAUREN gets all this figured out soon!
I don't know if it was his idea, but I thought the same thing but figured it was The Bachelor show that figured it was a good way to get Becca to be the next Bachelorette. They probably talked him into it, and I am sure they let her know right afterwards that it probably sealed the deal. The whole thing was just a mess. I also find it hard to think of being engaged, broken up with and starting a new season all within a couple months is way too much. I wish her well though because I feel like she is a great person, and I hope she finds a great guy.
If she truly loved arie..she wouldn't be able to be the Bachelorette so fast. You don't get over a love that fast and ready to date other people already. The love on this show is so superficial.
Claudia B Please, they were together for like 6 weeks and then the short month+ after. I’m sure she fell out of the love as quickly as she fell into it and as quickly as he dumped her. Who’s to say she doesn’t still love him and is just getting over it slowly or rapidly? Or this is her way to move on from it and keep moving? People handle things differently and cope differently. If this is her way, so be it. You don’t decide whether or not if she was really in love or whatever based off of her choice to move on fast. We are not all mentally equal. You don’t know how she thinks or what she thinks of or of ANYTHING that happened behind the scenes that may have influenced her decision. Please don’t act like you know all about love and how it should be or feel or anything. It’s a thing that happens and it’s different with everyone. Maybe you wouldn’t have moved on, but she did.
Claudia B she didn't really love him. She was caught up in the idea of marriage and she projected that onto him. She's just an opportunist. If it wasn't scripted and she truly had strong feelings she would have been devastated by the news. Her reaction wasn't of someone deeply invested in another who sees their lives together. It was a very superficial relationship. He's in white knight savior mode and feeling secure with the little wounded bird Lauren. That won't last. She's too needy and dépendant and he's too narcissistic.
Whether the breakup was planned or not... it's like kiss and tell. The least he could do it let her shine in this moment.Arie's behavior screams immaturity! I hope her season is more (adult). I'm so tired of a the childish behavior of the contestants on this show. Can we please have some more mature people? 30's and up. If they're afraid ratings will go down if age goes up, produce one for the more mature audience please. No offense to Becca but she can't be ready to fall for a new guy. If she does she is as bad as Arie. If she does those tears look like crocodile tears. It's just not obvious. This will sound callous but can anybody say "rebound boyfriend?" (bring on the hecklers)
I'm not so sure. I had a breakup not too long ago, and yes 2 months later, I can very much say Im ready to move on. It depends on the person and their coping skills. When you know that somebody does not love you anymore, it could be easier to just get on with things and not look back. Could also be because she only dated Arie for a few months. If Arie had been her boyfriend of 5 years, it would certainly be a different story.
They were together for like a month and a half, saw each other only 3 times during that time and I´m sorry, but if somebody shows you their true colors like Arie did, I would be over him in like a minute. All of that was a huuuuuge d.ck move and I would fell hella quickly out of love with him as well!
If Arie had not broken up with her on camera, she definitely would not have been The Bachelorette. She clearly was not too heartbroken if she was ready to move on so quickly. Arie was mocked, threatened, dragged through the mud and shamed. He sacrificed his reputation to assure her the Bachelorette role. She had that tagline "Lets do the damn thing.' She is a publicist. She definately had a game plan to use her time on The Bachelor as self promotion.. She said it all the time. When she became the Bachelorette she changed her description and used her tagline. She should be thanking Arie. As she said, she is "winning."

Paige Holiday, obviously Arie himself does not make that decision! Arie knew he would be slaughtered by the audience and the viewers would get behind Becca. The fan favorite determines who The Bachelorette will be. Had we not seen that, we would not have known what went down. There would have been so many questions and theories of why and how they broke up. There's no rumors or he said she said. It was clear it was Arie's mistake. Had that not been aired, Becca would not have had the opportunity to be in the running for Bachelorette. The Bachelorette is determined by how the women are received by the audience. That's why the lead is always announced after the women/men tell all. If you are going to call people out I'd suggest listening to podcasts with producers and bachelor veterans. Know the facts before you call someone crazy!
Good point Ashley but I think Becca has moved on in her head not in her heart. She said on two occasions that she had given her heart to Arie so she is not over him. Jr
Ashley Pitcher Here’s another one of those “she didn’t love him/she wasn’t that hurt if she moved on so fast” comments. Give me a break. Everyone is different. Everyone copes differently. This was literally “love” she found in like 6 weeks and then a month of doubt and unsureness. If she wanted to mentally let go of him, let her. She is at least taking a step to do so and not wallowing over a bucket of ice cream. Maybe inside she’s still hurt and pissed. Maybe she still cares. But she is mentally ready to pull herself out of the shit pile he pulled her into, she she did. This whole show is just pure publicity. Yeah, maybe it helped her, of course it would. But this isn’t the only thing that helped her. There were a lot of things throughout the show that helped her- why do you think she ended up being a fan favorite before she even was broken up with? It takes someone shallow to think it that she only did it for publicity. And Arie certainly didn’t do it on purpose. He most likely did it to get attention himself, to stand out. He definitely didn’t come up with a whole “I’m gonna have them film this and then BAM! She’ll be the next bachelorette! Oh boy, I could LEAP!” Plan. He’s not that generous. Please. 🙄
Totally agree with you 100%. Arie's decision to film the breakup was CRUCIAL in setting her up to be the bachelorette. Or perhaps it wasn't Arie's decision to film it, maybe it was the producers wanting to hype it up. Either way, that was the turning point for when the audience truly fell in love and started rooting for Becca.

I think the reason for that is TV has created the SHALLOW image that is created with the intention of love on camera.. It could be considered deceptive "ADVERTISING"!
