what i love the most in season 4 is that the show finally made us see the REAL Joe through marienne's eyes and not some prince in a white horse in the mind of a murderer- how he's been in autopilot ever since he told marienne he'd prove that he isn't a murderer. PENN Badgley executed it so perfectly.
I don't know why so many people are only seeing Joe for he has always been I knew that was no redemption after he killed Beck in season 1 I can't believe it took people so long to realise that
What watch Haunting of the Hill House first I absolutely love her performance as Nell Nell was sweet, kind, but suffers a horrible fate You feel bad for her Then I only started watching YOU because of Victoria But after finishing season 2, Victoria now, creeps me out a little bit everytime I see her onscreen That goes to show her acting range
Knowing Penn Directed this episode it’s hilarious because you can see all the frustration Penn had for his characters constant lack of fan hatred and said “Yup I’m FIXING THIS RIGHT NOW”

the way these three actors all bounced off each other's energies was so INCREDIBLE in this scene, i got so so excited when i first saw Beck. there's just something about these three, their chemistries are just off the charts together and it just felt like that part i felt like was missing all throughout s4 was finally here. i would've loved to have seen more of Love in flashbacks (or even Beck), the minor characters this season personally didn't do it for me tbh :/
I have to agree,Joe really was the star of the season,Elizabeth and Victoria really were great in this scene tho,I know everyone including myself was excited to see love but I was a bit more excited to see beck again,we didn’t get much of Beck haunting Joe besides season 2 this scene really was great

@@ilikefood4482 exactly, that very short scene where he grabs her from behind and next thing you know she’s dead. Her death is so interesting to me because it will reveal more things about joe, first time with candace it really was an accident, with love it wasn’t but it was well deserved, does that mean he really killed her because she didn’t love him anymore? Did he intend it or was he trying to force to talk to him and then she died? Joe for me will always be an obnoxious person, but details like this would change my perspective of him rather than his long conversation inside his head
Yeah, season 4’s characters are so boring in comparison to the previous ones. I can’t stand Kate she’s the worst of them all, I actually rate her lower than Candice.
I was thinking this while watching the show for the first time. We never got to see Beck let out her rage at Joe for anything so this was so cathartic it was almost like Chekov’s gun
I have a theory. In season one, Dr Nicky said that there’s two Joe Goldbergs . Meaning, that Joe’s mental state was slowly deteriorating from the very beginning of the show.
That’s true Even tho he’s killed before he’s clearly stately with most of the person that he never wanted to do that,but he knows he’s very capable the end made him embrace that side now Joe and Rhys are one,I litterarly binged 1-3 before 4 came out jokes on me I have to binge 1-4 now
Well if I’m not mistaken Multiple personality disorder is developed in the development years and you can’t as an adult (might be wrong) .. so he’s had two personalities for a long time or possibly more just we got to see one this season
@@About36Greekss im not saying that he has multiple personality disorder. In season one episode 7 , Dr Nicky said there could be two Joe Goldberg’s . Meaning that Joe could have either split personality disorder or dissociative disorder. Which are probably a result traumatic events and stress.
S4 was the best season. I love joes relationship with each women. Beck always ask him “what did you do now” and love says “it was our thing” they’re all just SO GOOD!!
I like how even in this scene we see how his subconscious mind censors some of the bad that he’s done. Beck didn’t “die in his arms” that almost makes it sound tragic, Joe literally chokes her to death but he still feels like the victim of the whole situation because he’s in sooo much denial
Does anyone else notice the reference to Peach?? At 0:45 all the Beck's disappear and peaches are on the chairs😩 Penn did so good directing this episode!
Also, the first time Love and Joe ever talked she held up a peach to his face and asked him if it looked like a butt so it could be a reference to both of those 🙌🏻
Victoria Pedretti is such an amazing actress! I am not a big fan of series and movies, but the way she portrayed her characters and the emotions she gives is making me enjoy the shows she plays in. Good job, Victoria! ❤
I LOVED her role of Nel in Haunting of Hill House. It made it even better knowing that was her first acting role ever, I hope she gets more work, she's incredible.
In the first season, Beck annoyed me, but when she appeared in this episode, I realized how much I missed her. Love is great as always, i'm so mad that they killed her. I miss them both.
I’m in awe of Victoria Pedretti as Love in this scene. Her performance is extraordinary. We get to see so many glimpses of her personality just from the subtle movements and facial expressions she does. You can see the polar opposites of her character, both the compassion, affection and volatility & impetuousness. Whilst also embodying the traits of Reese with the over exaggerated expressions and lack of empathy. I’m absolutely enthralled with her in this scene, and it’s arguably the best scene in the show for me. Both Victoria and Penn are so impactful in this scene. You almost get a sense of regret or perhaps a sense of real grief at the loss of her. Because I’m sure Joe has compartmentalized that for so long. Since he is far more disturbed and unsettled when he sees Love as opposed to Beck.
I knew it was too good to be true. As much as I wanted Love to come back deep down I knew it was a dream because there’s no way that look on her faces when she died as the wolfs bane stoped her heart was the look of someone who would be revived later, she lay on the floor for at least a couple of hours when joe took Henry to Dante and Lansing and when he later out the tiring up of lose ends, she lay on the other side of the kitchen table when the fire broke out and it spread to the house front windows her body must have been completely scorched. Knowing her she would have taken Henry back, and above all els she’s not wearing her wedding ring technically there still married even if she was still alive. I think they put that scsen in the trailer too her people existed for part 2, Plus they do t put something in the trailer if it’s too big a surprise. Man I really wanted Victoria character to be alive.
It’s funny how there’s no Candace I don’t know if it’s because love basically became the new Candace or if it’s because Joe didn’t technically kill her
Victoria Pedretti nailed her performance. i got so frickin excited when i saw LOVE in the teaser drop but i knew that they weren't gonna pull another CANDACE on us. i didn't watch season 4 because there was nothing compelling enough. For me the show ended when Love died. They did her dirty. Honestly and this is just my opinion, they should've ended YOU after season 3 instead they introduced a bunch of new characters in S04 just for the hell of it. i am sorry but i just miss LOVE so so much. i mean just look at LOVE (VICTORIA) in this scene, she frickin nailed it.
I agree. I watched this season and the new character literally give NOTHING. Except for Phoebe she was definitely the Paco & Ellie for Joe. A lost person he feels the need to protect.
How Victoria portrayed Love makes me miss her because she made us root for her the same way we root for Joe, knowing she’s a murder as well and no better than him, I loved seeing her and I loved seeing Beck as well because she’s what started this whole thing, being Joes first kill (yes Candace was his first action of killing but she doesn’t count) and she’s the one that I feel made his mental go down the drain the minute she lashed out at him and made him remember his childhood and how that was, something he didn’t wanna recreate and also started that selfish lover mindset, like he has to “protect” her and do everything for her and if she doesn’t appreciate his “help” than she’s ungrateful and deserves to die all of a sudden
1:45 “WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING TO ME?” I laugh at that NOW, but when I was watching it, I basically asked that same question: “WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!”
I will always believe the only person he loved was Beck. Her death affected him in a way you can see, with her he’s stuck and asks what she wants and with love he’s frustrated and it’s love asking him the questions
what I find interesting is that appearance-wise, Victoria was perfectly suited to play Beck, and Elizabeth could have played Love (in the books, Love is described as blonde and tan, stereotypically pretty California girl, while Beck is petite, has darker hair, and looks a bit like Natalie Portman) - yet it's impossible to imagine them swap roles because both of them were cast perfectly.
First half of episode 8 is great too because thanks to Marianne's POV we see what a monster Joe actually is. And the ending was great too, the writers finally made Joe the absolute villain with no soft spots for kids.
the best scene out of the whole season tbh. second best one would be where tom tells kate that her whole “independence” thing was a lie and he was behind it the whole time
The part that seems most like what Love would actual be like is when she says “Somebody does need to die for this to end for good.” - she has that Love expression.
Eww I despise her the moment I saw her. And when I found out she was a rich girl with daddy issues I hated her more. It’s crazy if she really hated her dad she would have donated his money to charity and tell the police about joe. In reality she hated her dad so much because she knew deep down she is just like him
I was really upset and sad they killed off love I really loved her she was my favorite character I couldn’t bring myself to watch season 4 even now i just can’t watch without the Icon Love Quinn but I’m glad she came back for a little screen time
Imagine the theories we would have had if we saw Beck and Love in the trailer? Like did they survived? Was it all sick hallucinations from Joe? Wish it was the ending, then we would have see everyone he killed alive and well. But now everyone is dead and no consequences for Joe 🙄
You know, the ending is what I subconsciously expected to see when I first watched the show, in the sense that Joe would stop fighting his demons and yet somehow in the end the concept of “Love” is still corrupt. And it was fucking great, I almost cried when he was trying to kill himself, literally didn’t think I’ll ever care if he died-not in the sense that i was saddened by it, but I guess as much as i hate him he is a character with many realistic aspects that i think we can relate to in different ways, and i was so emotional seeing him die. But then afterwards all the hate came back when i saw what he did to Nadia, and then I knew this show gave the best most enticing ending ever, i can’t just imagining him killing himself after going back and forth between “good” and “bad” I also can’t imagine him ever being someone separate who has never experienced any of the issues he has, he is who he is, and i loved the last bit “but im honest with myself about it” because he thought he finally found complete love in a sense, and yet throughout all of this development, you can feel he is too hung up on “being good” “accepting the dark side” until eventually he does both, and yet never knowing what love, because no matter how much you relate to how the conversations went with his other self, it’s not love. Joe was always far from love
In all honesty after finishing this season, I honestly thought they were going to drag it out just like every other show. However, once again, a fucking HIT. I liked every bit of it, it started out fairly slow and it was a little hard to love the show without love, but all good things must come to an end, and in some ways I was fond of each character through out the show. However, I would've enjoyed a little more screentime from them, but it was all just done so well. The minute joe was hallucinating all the interactions he was having with rhys was when I "the audience" had to get up from my sofa and take a quick minute of how fooled i felt. I don't know what's next for season 5 but I want joe to pay. All I can think of is nadia, and how she's in jail, he totally fucked her up.
