I really love Isabela’s personality and courage, the fact that her mom sent her to Peru to be with her family and embrace her country and she doesn’t get offended easily, it’s different to live in a country outside the US and not just claim or get offended by unintentionally ignorant individuals who asume cultures & ethnicity, because the culture, the people in the actual country like me who came back to live in Mexico after being born & raised in the US, I am not an easily offended but since I’ve lived in Mexico since the age of 10 it’s more than a “ethnicity” or “culture” those words and terms are meaningless here in Mexico. In Mexico you will never see anyone getting offended for someone assuming or simply unaware of basic Mexican living in the country. In Mexico we don’t find it necessary to entertain those conversations or arguments because it’s nonsense and to be honest it’s hard to stay in touch with your family’s background 100% if you’ve never been outside the US. It’s ok for others not to know everything about me, it’s ok if people assume wrong things about me, no one knows everything about everything and that only makes us human. Let people asume all Latinos are the same because their opinions aren’t reality, when you get to taste the true Latino life in a Latin country you realize how little to nothing others know because they haven’t had that amazing opportunity to live with the people…
