It will be different for everyone. I enrolled in a fast track program with ATP flight school. It’s like drinking through a fire whose and 7 days a week. It was full time for me and it took me roughly 5-6 months from start to Commercial Single and Multi certs. I also did all my CFI ground school, but decided not to move forward in the CFI program after that. I believe it’s not customary to ask someone what they earn for a living, but you can easily google average first year FO’s in commercial aviation. Best of luck!

That’s completely normal to be concerned, but during this time, the airline industry is seeing a huge shortage of pilots. This is a great time to start and pursue your dream. I can’t speak on behalf of airline pilots, because I am not one nor have I ever been one. I flew private corporate contracts and now help train other pilots, not as CFI, but as a supporting crew member for CAE. It’s a lot of work and not easy to obtain all your certificates and ATP to become an airline pilot including hour building. That’s what you should focus on and the jobs will present themselves once you have the minimum requirements that most airlines are looking for (Typically 1250 hrs with ATP and 4 year aviation degree or 1500 hrs with ATP). Talk to other pilots in blogs or forums that are in the industry and get their perspective. I have a family and didn’t want to be gone half the year which changed my course in life and becoming an airline pilot, but I still obtained my dream of flying. It’s a passion for me and I hope you obtain your goals and dreams one day. Good luck!

It depends on the flight school. A along as you have the money and can pay for a program, you can apply to any flight school. Some are fast track programs like ATP, which offers financing, and others are self paced, typically with a smaller school. I’d say look into the different schools in your area and reach out to them about their programs. Go by for a tour and see the facilities and talk to the CFIs to see if you get along. American Flyers is another good school with a similar program like ATP but not as expensive and more self paced. Google is your best friend here for more info. I wish you the best in your training.

No you don’t. Just a passion for aviation. Go for it. At least the intro flight and take it from there. Reach out to a local General aviation airport or school to see if Inter flights are offered. Most FBO’s (Fixed Base Operations) have a flight school near by or at the FBO. Good luck!!!

Becoming an ag pilot is probably the best way to get there. Look for a local crop dusting operation and ask for a loading job and work your way up.

I’m a member of the Commemorative Airforce. I completed my initial pilot training with ATP flight school and my LRJet Type rating with CAE.

@@AngleOfAviation been thinking about the military since I was 17, I'm 20 now, but not sure if that's the right direction to go, too low asvab score for the airforce however, but flying a plane looks super rad

You don’t necessarily need to be in the Air Force. Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force. All the branches have pilot opportunities. Even The Reserves. Keep your head up and look into taking an intro flight. You will get a lot of good advice and guidance from the CFI who takes you up. Good luck @blue!

Unfortunately I’m not in the business of loans. There are other resources out there for your commercial pilot certificate and financing. Google is a great starting point.

There is a lot of math, but you can get the training and math criteria from the training guides or from your CFI.
