Hi Ashley! I would love to have an email/msg online with you directly. I will explain why. I am very stresstfull on my own job. I am working as CSR for like 4 years. I am very excited to start my own business as a VA, however there are some issues on this matter. So, i would love to talk to you if you can or you are available please. Waiting for your reply. Have a great day!
I definitely agree, aside from that stressful work overload, youll have to please your toxic co workers and endure the traffic. So I am about to switch from working to office to working at home.
City Hunter I feel the same way! It took me working from home during the pandemic for me to realize that I no longer want to work in an office and prefer the comfort of being at home, doing work that I will enjoy. So excited about this!
I’m getting into the VA game a little late lol but thank you so much, Abbey Ashley! I’ve been bingeing your videos all day today and now, I feel more confident and excited to start my VA business journey! 🤩
Thanks Abbey. I'm so inspired. I provide superb customer service, and I've worked as an assistant for over 20 years. I've always wanted to have my own business. I'm ready. Thanks for the info.
You're so welcome!! I'm excited for you! Check out this free VA training! It's the perfect place to start if you're ready to begin your VA journey! www.thevirtualsavvy.com/bbo
After losing my job due to the virus and although I have my own small business that's online, it's not large enough to fully sustain myself. I've been looking into becoming a VA because I've learned so much from launching my own small biz. I've gone head first into research and I'm ready to get started! So grateful for finding your channel :)
Abby, I work a full time job and am working on beginning my new business at night. Right now I am just training and taking in as much as I can. Love your videos and what you’re teaching so we can become Business Owners! thanks
That is awesome! You CAN do it, we are here to support you! We have an amazing Facebook group called Virtual Assistant Savvies. It's a place where you can get advice from other VAs and find a support system! You can also check out this masterclass: www.thevirtualsavvy.com/bbo
I love your personality Abbey. I have been suggesting this to people, to become VAs, now you confirm to me that it's a great idea. I am subscribing. Great content!
Hi Abbey! New subscriber here! Just by watching your videos, you make me feel that I'm gonna be successful so so soon as a VA and it makes me reaaaally excited to learn. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU for your channel. Just found you today. I can only imagine how many lives you are improving. Not to mention helping people stay away from scams. Abbey Ashley, you’re a treasure. I already have a license but tabled it for a few years. Toying with the idea now. Am I a perfectionist? Very imperfectly! “Done is better than perfect” is a mantra I love these days...
This is very helpful. I loved it! I am currently working as VA. Things were new to me. It is first time to work as VA. This video really helps me a lot.
Yes perfectionist. Someone sent me this video and I am encouraged and is going to start my own VA business. I like the tips you shared nevermind I'm seeing this in 2021, also do you think it could be successful living in the Caribbean? And being a single mom of two.
This sounds perfect for me!! I am a stay at home moma of a 7 yr old, 5 yr old , and 6 month old little man who is breastfeeding and I have tried for 6 months to get a stay at home job but Nobody wants to hire me because they want me to be kid free during work hours and that is just not feasible for me. I plan on watching all of your videos and hopefully I can figure out how to do this so that I can revenue some income to help my family.
So glad you're here! YES! I have a ton of free resources on my channel as well as on thevirtualsavvy.com/blog :) Go ahead and download the free VA Checklist & Starter Kit! It's the perfect step by step checklist to getting started! thevirtualsavvy.com/vachecklist
Great!! There's also a TON of great resources on thevirtualsavvy.com as well as in our Virtual Assistant Savvies Facebook community! Hope to see you there!
I am currently working full time here in japan, but i’ve been planning since last year that I am going to start my VA business this year as part time. My contract is about to end this august and I don’t wanna become jobless before I go back home in philippines. thank you so much for helping! 😘
You're amazing and this video is so right on time for me! I've always been too scared to market myself even though I get told all the time that I'm an amazing assistant. Thank you thank you thank you. SUBSCRIBED 🥰
Hi Abbey! I just recently discovered you using a Google search for making the switch to VA work. Is there a video you can point me to that shows how to start sort of incognito so your current employer doesn’t find out? Love your content by the way. Also subscribed! 😊
Thank you for this video. I am looking for the skills set names that require to become a virtual assistant, but no one talks about it. For example, Office Suite, Google Calendar or Maybe Photoshop? Like what I exactly need to know to provide administrative support?
Hey ms. Abbey! I really wanted to join your program monthly but I don’t get my disability until next month! I didn’t want to have to wait another 6+ months... I’m praying spots don’t fill (sorry, no offense, lol.) even though it says 5 days remaining
Woo hoo!! That's great! You can find a TON of resources on thevirtualsavvy.com that can help you get started! Many VAs start out offering general admin services!
@@thevirtualsavvy wow, i imagine you are a busy person and finding time to replay to everyone means a lot! i will loose my job soon and your video inspired me to try VA.
Hello Abbey, thanks a lot for the amount of valuable content you do put in. Please I have a request, not all prospective VAs are from the U.S. Please could you channel some of your content to those who live in less developing countries? For instance, some of us may have issues with setting up a bank account and Legal requirements.
We have students from all around the world! Our course is US based, so we encourage you to research your local laws and requirements! Are you inside the VA Savvies Facebook community? You can connect with over 60,000 other virtual assistants for support and to ask any questions you might have! thevirtualsavvy.com/community
You have gave amazing tips. I am trying to be a VA for the past three years but I don't know how to take the first step(how to process, deal with clients and contract etc) I have lost about 20 clients (in the three years) owing to my non skilled method 😖😖😖
Great question! It's totally up to YOU! You are not required to be the face of your business! While that does help build personal connections, you absolutely can build your business without being the face!
I can understand that-- one thing I like to shoot for is 'launch before it's perfect'. Perfection will never come because we always want to be more, better, etc. If you launch before it's perfect, you can take steps towards perfection (or what that looks like for you) while building your business along the way!
HI! This was a great video, but I have a question. As someone who doesn't live in the US, and wants to become a VA, how do I proceed to set up my legal requirements? How should I make (or find) a contract for VA's if I live abroad?
I need your honest opinion. I have a full time job but would love to add being a VA. Are my skills enough? I currently manage multiple calendars, manage meetings, data entry and generate reports. I have also been able to procure unique items (ingredients) for chefs while organizing work events. I can read/write/speak English & Portuguese and i can speak spanish. i do now know much about marketing or web designing though. is this enough?
Great question! I actually have a full blog post talking all about choosing a name for your business and how to make sure it isn't already being used! You can check it out here: www.thevirtualsavvy.com/name-virtual-assistant/
I would like to become a virtual assistant but I live in Puerto Rico. I have been looking for work from home jobs but I haven't had any luck because I live in Puerto Rico. I was very excited because I could work from home but it is very hard for me to find a job because they always say it is only for US residents.
We have students from all around the world! Are you in our VA Savvies community? You can network with over 80,000 freelancers from all over! There are several job opps posted daily inside the group! thevirtualsavvy.com/community
I am thinking of doing the Penn Foster Virtual Assistant Diploma program but not sure how it works. Like how do I find a job. I am a Health Aide and I am getting my real estate license but also feel that being a virtual assistant would be a great side job.
Hi abbey..... found ur video really inspiring, I have been working in marketing for past 10 years but the income is not that inspiring, but now I am looking for VA as my future business so that I can work as per my wish and earn money for my family members, please help me how to get started.
Awesome! I have a ton of great resources linked in the description about getting started! You can find more information on thevirtualsavvy.com that will walk you through getting set up, like the free VA Checklist & Starter Kit! thevirtualsavvy.com/vachecklist
Hi Athanasius. We’re you able to start your virtual assistant journey in South Africa? I’m looking to start mine and I just came across your comment here
Hi Abby, Thanks for the very useful information. Just a question, for VA, are you suppose to work for one client or multiple clients? How to manage the work load and the task management? could you please advice/list the services that are offer from a VA. Thanks so much.
Hey there! You can take on as many clients as you want! You can use task managers like ClickUp, Asana, or Trello to name a few! I have a list of services over on: thevirtualsavvy.com/blog
Abbey! I have watched your videos for a few months now and decided today I really want to try and become a VA. I am a mom of an 8 month old, and left teaching to stay home with him. I'm burnt out from teaching and want a job that I can stay home, make money, and also feel busy again. Do you have any advice on how to get started now?! You seem so knowledgeable about this profession and although I am apprehensive about what the road ahead may lead to I want to see what this may offer! I can send you my email if you are able to chat more in detail! Thanks, Beth
I'll admit it feels safe to have the website done. I want to have the freedom to work from home, choose who I support, and make a consistent income that will eliminate worries about my future. Offices are opening up again and I just got a call from a recruiter with an opportunity that will pay just enough for me to get by. 8-5. Do you have any recommendations on how to still get clients despite the time constraints? Although I'm pretty confident about my abilities, selling myself to peers and family hasn't been my strong suit. I've had a lot of cold to luke-warm experiences in the workplace and so I don't love work as much as I imagine I could. Here and there I've had some really good jobs, but mostly not so good. Any advice is valuable. Thanks
Time blocking is super helpful! We have several students who still work a 9-5 while running their VA businesses! You can find our free Personal Outreach Template here: thevirtualsavvy.com/swag that can be used when reaching out to potential clients! You got this!
Hi Abbey What do you say to someone who cannot do website design, coding what's so ever? I'm trying to to learn how data entry works. I'm out of jib for quite some time. Feels like forever.
We recommend you start out with the skills that you ALREADY have! Skills can always be learned along the way! Also, you don't need a website when you're just starting out! Focus on landing that first client! I teach all about how to market and land your first client in this free webinar: thevirtualsavvy.com/bbo
Hi! Please, I am so stuck. I am getting ready to start my VA business but I have NO idea exactly what services to offer and how to price them. I want to get out of my current job as soon as possible. But, I am stuck on this part and have no idea how to move forward without selling myself short. Any ideas? or somewhere I can get more information from?
That's great! I have a TON of videos on how to get started on my channel as well as on thevirtualsavvy.com/blog You can find a download of all the services you could offer as a VA! www.thevirtualsavvy.com/swag/
We have students from all around the world! Are you in the VA Savvies Community? You can connect with over 60,000 other VAs for support and advice! You GOT THIS! thevirtualsavvy.com/community
what if you honestly don't know what tasks you would be good at? I mean even if we go through the 101 service list you have and we can't figure it out.
I would suggest you start out with the skills that you already have! Then list out the skills you're interested in and would like to learn! Skills can always be learned! :)
Hi Abbey, I am new to your channel. Thank you for sharing VA information. it is very helpful. I am interested in VA, not sure how l can use my Managerial skills as a VA. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. 🙂
