Excellent tips and video, Aika! It seems I was very lucky when going through the process in Marseille (from February 2017 to May 2018). Luckily, the hardest part - obtaining all of your official documents to secure an interview - is now behind you. I am sure you will do great in your upcoming interview and then you will just have to wait for the good news 😊

This is so helpful! ❤️Thank you so much! I’m wanting to become a citizen to live with my partner, but we aren’t married (and live in other countries). So I figure I should apply to a school in France and get a masters degree, it’s a five year degree program. They teach you French while there. My partner and I plan to live together while there and hopefully get married. I wanted to try and rush the process so I can stay with her but I don’t think I can. 😔

Thanks a ton for the detailed video, just a few questions, can you please help, I have a Master's from IESEG, Lille Campus, so do I have to stay for continous 5 years or due to the master's I can get a reduction of duration to 3 or 4 years of continous stay? Considering, that you went to Canada for studying, couldn't Canada have been a better option considering citizenship, quality of life, and processing time of papers (Although it's a personal choice, I wanted to know the first-hand opinion since you are aware of both the countries)? Lastly, is it easier for Canadians to get a French passport? Thanks in advance for the answers, hope you attain your citizenship as soon as possible.
@frenchteacheraika1819
@frenchteacheraika1819 3 года назад
Hey! It’s easier for Canadians to obtain a french citizenship. A lot of people have dual citizenship France - Canada. I applied to get PR in Quebec when I was there for internship but I decided to leave as the climate didn’t fit for me. So my application was withdrawn. I prefer a climate in France actually. 😊 You can apply once you get your Masters degree! Good luck and thanks for your comment! ❤️

@frenchteacheraika1819
@frenchteacheraika1819 4 года назад
Hi there! Yes of course there are private universities in France where you can study in English, too. But they are much more expensive.... unless you come as an exchange student. if you're an engineer, i'd advise you to join une école des sciences appliquées, i know that INSA Lyon is one of the best in France...they have programs in both French and English and mix of English 80% and French 20%. I also have a video on differences between Russian and French higher education, you can watch that too.
@anushkajariwala129

Great video. I have a couple of questions though. Before you studied in France, were you a Canadian citizen or you wen to Canada for professional reasons later? Does having a Canadian passport make a difference in possibility of acceptance due to good international relations? I am an Indian applying for Masters' right now and very confused whether to take the direct and uncertain path or the indirect, longer but safer path.
@frenchteacheraika1819
@frenchteacheraika1819 2 года назад
- I wasn’t a Canadian citizen. I went to canada for professional reasons to do my internship with AIESEC. - It’s your whole pro and personal path and good file that makes a difference, no matter the passport, in my opinion. France gives citizenship to people of all nationalities, wether they have good international relations or not. - what’s the uncertain and safer paths?

Awesome video thanks very much, I just wanted to ask you as I have spent two years on a CDI contract (passport talent) I also have a Bsc degree in Engineering but not from France and as I understand I can start the process after an additional 2 years but my wife and kids are not spending full time in France, would that create any issue when I apply? Appreciate your feedback
@frenchteacheraika1819
@frenchteacheraika1819 3 года назад
Tamer Nofal hi there! Happy that the video was useful for you. CDI is very very precious in France as it shows you have a stable financial situation so try to keep it until you get to an interview for a French citizenship. You should also show that you pay taxes every year. You can get the passport first and then do ´regroupement familial’ to bring your family to France, they’ll have residency permits. I see no issue for you applying even if your family is outside of France... most important is that you have a good solid file and a good level of French.

@@frenchteacheraika1819 thanks very much for your speedy reply, i’m actually quite stable in my job (been with the company for 9 yrs now- 7 overseas and 2 in france).. my family actually have residency valid for 4 years but i’m just worries about the fact that they are in between here and our home country.. for taxes i have no issue, my file is in order and it’s all deductible at source so i don’t do much effort with it

Tamer Nofal that’s awesome! I assume you’re learning French so everything should be fine. I don’t think that it matters where your family physically is, you can explain that during interview anyway, it shouldn’t impact negatively their decision a you have a stable situation here so it should be fine 👌

You’re welcome! I just launched a new online course for DELF B1 preparation in case you or your wife will need to pass it for citizenship. Check it out on my Instagram or Facebook page. Concerning your case, what type of titre de séjour do you have? And your wife ? After 5 years of continual residency in France you’re eligible to apply. You can apply all together in my opinion.
@Blvd40
@Blvd40 3 года назад
Very impressive story. Did you know that you would lose your residency when you decided to travel abroad? I'm just wondering is if that was something that is outlined in the path to citizenship or is it something that one finds out after the fact? Also, from other vide6o that have been watching, I learned that it is quite affordable to study in France. For this reason, do you think education would be a good route to go for someone wanting to gain citizenship there? Since having a master's degree made you become eligible faster?
@frenchteacheraika1819
@frenchteacheraika1819 3 года назад
Masters definitely makes you eligible faster and it’s a great way to become French, too! When I left to Canada I lost my french residency, because I lived there for a year. Travelling is fine, but it depends how much time you’re outside of the country…
