I don't agree about the scripting. It's blatantly obvious. I can safely say I'm bad at FIFA 23 but don't be ridiculous. The animations in this game cater to park the bus players. There is no skill gap.
Scripting exist but it goes both ways. Sometimes for u as well. Lets be real and fair abt it. Otherwise u can control certain aspects of the game when it's tight
Scripting is real. Whenever you start a new fifa in the terms and user agreement. The thing you accept and it’s a long list that nobody reads and just accept.. if you actually read it. It tells you that you’re agreeing for online balance dynamic momentum to balance games.. aka scripting. 😑😑😑😑
As a data scientist who literally gets paid to identify trends for a living, this game 100% is scripted. Obviously most people only notice it when it happens against them, but if you pay attention to in game mechanics, you can learn how to abuse it and win games you otherwise shouldn't have won. The "momentum" mechanic that existed back in like fifa 12 or w/e is still very much prevalent in this game. In terms of probability, I think if I had a much larger data pool, I could prove/disprove this based on a few pretty basic mathematical principles, but obviously EA wont give me access to the data.
I took ur advice. I have decent passing and defense but i dont use ANY skill moves. Decided to learn one skill move until i get it down then move onto another. I practiced the roullette against the keeper in the practice arena. Thought i had it down, but then went into a match to practice it against a live opponent online and got absolutely slaughtered. I tried to remind myself i was playing to practice and not to win but man it was rough. I decided that the roullette wasnt a good first time skill move for someone who doesnt use them at all, and switched to practicing the step over. Won a couple games practicing steo over but it might have been cuz the algorithm lined me uo with easier opponents after i got absolutely slaughtered trying to practice the roullette lol.
Bro i have used your strategies and I have become a lot better at keeping the ball and winning a lot more games in just 30 minutes like it doesent take a lot of time to become better if you do things the right way.
In Fifa 21,22 i was in elite division , making 14 wins mostly in WL . But in this Fifa , i am like a bronze player , struggling in Div 4, and winning only 9 ,10 games in WL . I can't understand what is wrong with me :( Maybe after watching your video , hopefully it will make an impact on my play . Good luck to everyone .
same bruv. In my case, i consistently hit 15-0 i wil in fifa 19 and 20, but then i started losing and couldnt win more than a handful of games after that. Meaning i would go 10-5 after that. - This year, i can go 8-2 in wl qualifications, go 6-0 in WL, but only hit rank 5 in WL, i got a really good team (no fifa points used, only a bit of trading and packluck) :/

Luckily i packed Vini jr 88 tradeable and sold for 2.2 million ))) crazy )) build my team with mbappe, neymar , renato , virgil , etc . Also found the way to play , this WL i made 14 wins out of 20 . Definitely the squad is realiable , but also i improved my playstyle . I can share my thoughts if someone is interested . Thank you everyone.
Okay so I know being a critic is easy but you say (rightfully I believe) that you have to focus on one thing to improve and then move on. You then take the example of a skill move and I think this is because that's literally the only thing you can just focus on and work on outside a game. All other aspects such as defending or attacking you can't just focus on. Because you can only train those in a game and it's downright impossible to focus so much on that one thing and just leave everything else untouched. Which makes progression extremely hard and slow. But please, I would love to hear suggestions on how to "quickly" improve general defense and attack. I liked the video by the way but when you got to that point I was not surprised you took a skillmove and had really hoped for something different that is harder to learn.
How do I defend against players that use speed? For example, am strugling to defend against player that just run straight than stop for a split second and run to a slightly different direction. I try to cut passing lanes, but my players never reach for the ball they just let it go past them, even if the ball is very close to them. I use left stick switching and second man press in the right way I believe. For example, when the oponent runs to the direction of my right back or left back I make sure to switch to my right back or left back as soon as possible and run back using right stick switching. I switch to my centre back and second man press my opponents winger, but every time I come close to them (even if I line my player up in the right way) my player walks past my oponent. I tried pressing the tackle button more often, or even spam it when I get close enough, but nothing works my opponents player just pushes my player and there is no chance of me catching up or tackling. I use all the advanced methods, but I seem to loose against players that just do basic things without using advanced methods. Hope that you can respond and help me make sense of this.
Honestly man as per my experiences you gotta play a deeper line and try and cover the pacier players runs manually by running ahead of them, but this does present other problems like creating space in between for which I guess you need some good cm/cdma
Also try and not commit until the chance of you getting the ball is very high, only tackle once you are in the perfect position or just force the other guy out wide
The game is so scripted. When I’m winning or tied my players make the worst runs or be in the worst position ever. If I’m losing they run to open spaces. It’s so obvious
YEP YEP YEP got robbed so bad yesterday I went like 8-0 in champs then I started getting red cards for basic fouls that are not even yellow irl and my Di maria (TOTT CARD) was so good few days ago now he just turned shit he can't pass he can't shoot anymore this game is so shit
Div 6, can’t break through or get any wins in champs finals. It seems like my players are so much slower/sluggier than every opponent which makes keeping possession difficult.Always relying on the scripting to come back in the second half with hard press. Also the freekick mechanics fkin suck, I have literally no idea where I am aiming most of the time 😂
Div 6 ain't hard Bro. Div 4 n above is where u face the hard teams. Div 5 is the div where if your worthy of going up to versing the good players or your just a lucky player that gets carried by players.
By the way I got to div 5 with a team of 17 chemistry n rubbish custom tactics this was while was the sweats were still in the low divsions now I'm in div 4 about to go into div 3 to face the good players
@@marlonbest5489 update: made it to Div4, it seems the issue was my team and the last few checkpoints to clear div 6! I have no idea why I was getting thrashed in those last few games but I cleared div 5 very easily! Also managed to get the VI champs reward which I’m very happy with 😃 And I still haven’t scored from a free kick 🤣
yeah i agree with everything. i have a team with my front adama toure (winter wild card), werner (Road to world cup), and darwin nunez (otw) it matters about you're skills not you're players.
People call it scripting I call it momentum from the original UT its 100% a thing if you think it's bullshit look at mystery ball you know when get boost in something the opponent can't do anything then vice versa...this Oh and also everyone needs to check their settings before each game session as the game turns my timed shooting off/on and other visual in game options
Myth 3 and 4 are absolutely bollocks. If u deny scripting is in the game you’re obviously delusional. It’s so blatantly obvious when it’s present I’ve started apologising to people when I get DDA just because they have a better team. Then you have the type of person who doesn’t believe scripting exists until it goes against them. Of course there’s scripting it’s meant to assist those with worse teams, even if they don’t win, it might tempt them into buying Fifa Points “if my team was just a bit better I could’ve beaten him”. I mean if you go into training, skill games, practice arena anything like that, you’ll notice how well the game can really run but theirs greed, go into career mode or FUT or Seasons and it’s just a different story (more so FUT). Suddenly the games engine switches up and you’re goalkeeper decides to punt the ball into your net when defending a corner. Your 90+ shooting strikers either miss by a half mile or kick it directly at their keeper. Your players AI stop working and they run away from the ball to create lanes for your opponent. Have you never questioned why strikers like haaland can’t finish a slice of toast whilst they can score bicycle kicks with defenders with 40 shooting off a corner. Don’t fall for how EA now design there games. It’s not just Fifa. They are all about maximum profit. Ask anyone who plays another EA game and they’ll probably agree it’s a money thirsty company.
Tip: If your opponent scores a goal against you, dont think, i am so bad at this game. This game sucks. Instead think, what did he do to score that goal? What did i do wrong? Figure out the answer and learn what to do next time you end up in that situation.
I didn’t switch to the player I flicked to in order to stop the player in time, that’s my fault my bad I should always just control that one player the entire match so he couldn’t score that goal. Very flawed mentality for this game champ
@DylanKane that’s what top level fifa is mate, I often lose games by one goal exactly because I didn’t switch fast enough to a player in the box or even I messed up the switch. That’s what it comes down to, the fine margins
I appreciate you are trying to help us but myth 3?! Seriously? Did EA promise you improved pack luck for saying this? LOL. Scripting is truly a fact. The ai scores when it wants to.. nearly every time after I score on world class difficulty then the ai makes surreal unstoppable passes. Unbelievable goals with silver players. Also the controller input response acts weird sometimes. Clear passes failing as if chemistry drops to 0. Example: player goalkeeper calls defenders, aim to full left for a safe pass, then the ball goes directly to a ai striker (ball did not go to the left at al). Also...the ball physics favour the ai, ball always get to ai player after tackle or gk interception. The amount of rebound goals I got against (I use Courtois) is sick. Also...noticed that in overtime the game actually ends very soon when you are attacking, and ai often get like 2-3 in game extra minutes. I could go on with other examples but we all know its scripted.

the myth about the scripting is true tho, momentum is in the game and if ur 4-0 and ur opponent gets one back he will have a better chance at equalising than actually losing and the whole situation with ea giving a player a boost in the game as well there r public patents about this found
I hate it so much😭u can go up 3-0 and if they get a bullshit goal off of fifa hoeing u on a pass next thing u know it’s tied up cuz fifa does everything it can to let them tie it up, such a bad thing in the game

You said "those with the belief that the game is scripted will never improve". This is incorrect. You need to know how it is scripted to get better. Each player is defined by a large set of variables that interact with each other. Over the duration of the game and also dependent on work-rate, these stats degredate. So a pass might fail with the usual amount of power, or running speed slows, stamina burns faster, etc. You need to understand this so you can dynamically adjust your game over the duration. Not forgetting about super-substitutes changing an entire game flow. You will get better over time as long as you learn from your mistakes. Every situation is dynamic. It's not easy to make the right move everytime. It's more complex than it's real-time nature allows the human brain time to decypher when faced against another human mind. What this game really needs is a better matchmaking percentrage balance rate. Then everyone would feel as though they are getting better.

If they were just variable and co-efficient then perhaps that would be enough, but every person who has played this game for any amount of time knows the computer uses these to artificially inflate difficulty. ie. cheats.
Yes a player with poor passing stats and medium/medium work rates will not have accurate passing and different power bars for it, he also won’t make penetrative attacking runs or track back as much as a high defensive player, we know this. But how is it scripting?

I didnt quality for fut champs smh i did play all 10 at 7/8am and further from my monitor but still definitely need to improve alsongside team and tactics
I failed first. Never done that before on Fifa 22. Qualified 5-3 got 9 wins in champs div 5. DO NOT try to qualify early as your meet better players. I did it Saturday morning was far easier. Div 5 with a average team. My advice if you lose your cool take a time out from fifa for a little time. As when we rage we play far worse.
4-1-2-1-2(2) big striker/small quick striker. Sorloth is a cheap haaland. Width 45 / 60 depth direct passing/balanced or fast build up depending how fast you can play fifa. Both full backs on stay back whilst attacking overlap. Cdm cover centre stay back when attacking. Both cms on balanced cover centre/cam leave as it is/both strikers on get in behind/small striker stay forward
Big difference in gameplay I was div1 could get elite some seasons rivals. This fifa you must pass the ball be more patient I only got the game Tuesday. I’ve tried our few formations tactics but that is the best for me mate. Patience is one thing you need this fifa
Hey guys I’m new to fifa games in general, just got the game and I’ve been playing the game skills to help me understand stand how to play. I was wondering if I should just go headed and play career mode to get better at the game or stick to game skills??
Prime example of the game is scripted… the kick off glitch you score, the game gives the opponent 15seconds before your players wake up and realise the ball is on the move again by then he’s thru on goal 🙄 also, the fact I can go from winning 15 games in weekend league to struggling to get out of dev 7 and getting 3 wins in weekend league says a lot really
Also works the other way. If my opponent scores and im kicking off, i can literally solo dribble to the penalty box and i have no support from ai tm8s that are still sitting inside own half..
I don’t think it’s scripted I do believe that there is a handicap system so it doesn’t determine the outcome but fifa want the average player to win enough to stay interested but lose enough so they don’t get top ranks and the expensive players and buy more packs. If you don’t believe that your fooling yourself. And it’s not all bad some games I feel like I have all 99 players but then some games I have bronze and I have 18-24 ping all the time.
It is scripted to a degree. I do think when you are on a big winning streak they will make it harder for you by improving ai defending of your opponent and their goal keeper. Its just harder to win and it is understandable because nobody is going to keep playing when they lose all their matches.

Been watching guides and forums since 2017 and Im still clueless/cannot find the answer how people "appear" to be defending like Legacy.. just sprint with the older 'steal' button and rush into you no matter the skill (moves) or anticipation, to try and dodge. Players sprint/rush into me with the nearest defender or from behind, outpacing and without tackeling or jockey just do that and regain the ball. Im failing with both contain, jockey, being in a pass line (ball just bounces of me), tackles (even succesful) just kicks the ball back towards their teammate. And most certainly I cannot just freely sprint into someone like an AI and crash into m and freely regain the ball. Anyone who can tell me is my personal savior for all fifa's to come
That's ur defending pal. U need to look on RU-vid on how to get better at it. Truss me I'm about to enter the high divsions soon like div 4 n above defending is key. Scripting don't happen all the time.
I mostly play online seasons and usually sit between div 1-2. I have won Div 1 titles twice only. So, last month I decided to challenge myself on FUT. I started FUT rivals at div 7 and somehow reached to div 5 and couldn’t get past that and on last Thursday I got relegated to div 7 😂. My opponents are 90+ rated. I have never conceded more than 5 goals and ppl are scoring 7+ 😢. And when I get the ball, i feel that the opponent whole team has fallen back to defend me. PLEASE HELP WITH ANY TIPS.
Mid xavi 93 pass feels like 3 pass interesting how my opponents perfectly close passing lines and i cant do that so i agree that the game is scripted, change my mind by answer me how he did I didn’t? Also defending and first touch is kinda 50/50 but yes as i say its always looks like your opponent is being better
Only one way to start winning is to spend thousands of dollars opening packs so you can get the good players.. :) if you play bronze level players against gold or higher ... you will lose.. so fork up those dollars!!!
1. 🤦🏽♂️ scripting in FUT or, my manager career mode is scripted,i can beat Man City with Chelsea and next game playing Fulham i spent hours restarting that match,like im playing against Soccer Aid 2. I played Kickoff using Real Madrid vs Soccer Aid,,their goal keeper and their shooting was out of this world, i then played Soccer Aid using Soccer Aid, their goal keepr was a mess now and their shooting was trash LMAO try it today
absolute rubbish about scripting not being a thing, I'm sorry but the years I've been playing fifa, scripting is 100% a thing! it swings in round abouts one time you have the luck, the next it's against you, it has nothing to so with "improving" at the game, I've had games were you can feel the game is against you, you'll be absolutely battering your opponent, his gk saves everything then he gets 1 chance and my gk just let's in it, no skill gap what so ever
excuse me … I need essentially a video explaining how the professional players move their players while they don't have the ball since I have played with many players that controlling their players in a master way like when I pass to any player his player cut the pass quickly using unbelievable vision …. They are using L1 triggered runs and also dribbling into open space bringing opposition players out of position and their players making AI movement into space
No matter what setting instruction I cannot get any defender to stay in defence , got van dijk sitting in the box waiting for a header when I have him stay back while attacking , game is defo scripted one game all your players are fast passing normal shooting normal , next game it's like your playing with a team a Boris Johnsons 🤣
Yes, instead of the attacker, my Van Djik sometimes runs forward, even though I ordered him to stand behind. Apparently, it's boring there in the defense 😅
As an elite player I came here to see how people are coping with this game, don’t worry in my opinion this is the worst fifa ever, the fact that they’re made passing as somewhat the meta is amazing but every patch they make dribbling better and you can tell where the games going, also Keepers are too overpowered to be talking about a skill gap this fifa, too many games I dominate but lose 2-1 just because I don’t buy fifa points

Mate this was such a poor video to help other people improve, why are you talking about the heel to ball roll? You should be emphasising to players about keeping your back to the opponent whilst dribbling, jockeying to mark the passing lanes, passing to players in open space, recycling the ball, not overcommitting etc etc. all this does is confuse people. Elite Division player btw.
Div 5 rn but at the start I was like you struggling to get out of div 8 truss me it's possible to get the high divsions when u put u do the right things like me. At this rate I'm probably gonna be div 3 in a week or so.
@@Manlikehari whatever I was bad at I looked on RU-vid to get better at it. I used custom tactics from a youtuber as well n it made life easier. Right now I'm looking at defending tutorials cause my defending is still bad n I wouldn't last in div 4 or above with my defending that's what I'm currently doing.

Feel your pain. Im in div 8 on 2nd last flag. Now i lose 9 games out of 10. Have an 86 rated squad and trying to learn skill moves. I still get hammered regularly.
