They feel complete and compelling to watch, and I don't mind having to wait a bit between each video if they're gonna be this high quality. Although, if after a video you were to post your VODs, I would probably watch them :) 2- Thank you for being so open. About your feelings, your mental strain, your own doubts and mistakes. It takes a great deal of courage and humility to be this open with thousands of strangers on the Internet. Just found this video & it's super inspiring. I've been in Bronze forever & got knocked back into super Bronze after getting to silver. However watch your video not only made me realize I'm not as bad as I think I able it also help me understand that part of the journey of getting better in fighting games is not just mindless practice but patience, time & just rolling with the punches. (no pun intended) I went from being in a rage, wanting to quit 2d fighters to being inspired to keep going. I love this video, much love from the states.

Never thought I’d be seein poppt1 pulling off combos in SF5 I’m proud of poppt1 playing traditional fighting games

i got two things i wanna say: 1) i got into traditional fighting games about a year or so ago and have been waiting for an underdog to play one ever since (surprised its not zach given hes in panda) & 2) would love to see poppt play a complicated fighter (like skullgirls or ggxxac+r) as i think it would be hilarious, especially given some of the horror stories ive heard from them

This is very inspiring. I’m just now trying to learn fighting games (mainly P4AU) and I’m hitting the mental block you were talking about while learning my combos and I’m scared to try my skill against actually people, but after watching this, I might have the courage to press on and to try to beat someone.

Honestly Poppt it was great to see you struggling. I was in the same situation with ultimate these last few months, and it took me weeks to get good enough to escape the very bottom of online. Now I have a character in elite smash and am feeling much better about my practice! Super hype video.

this honestly reminds me of my days when i first started mvc3 and t6. played only offline enjoyed every bit of it. so coming to sfv on launch had a hed start at least remembering all my moves and being comfortable with them and labbed a whole day all of kens combos went to my first local after getting silver so i felt very confident in myself and found out i still had way more to go. And now 6 years later I can get out of pools for any fighter and rank up to the high ranks in no time. I even placed top 100 ishh for GG strive. but yea the journy is long mate ,any one can get their .lm glad to see a little bit of my past in this and truly makes me a appreciate the point im at today.

Poppt, I'm absolutely LOVING the new style of videos! One piece of feedback I will give though is that in moments like 16:15 to show more of what you're talking about rather than having the video just be you talking in front of a camera.

It's amazing to see progress in a new game to learn that patience and mentality is the BIGGEST factor. The biggest reason why the Fighting Game genre is so niche is because of the mental blockage, but with a competitive enough spirit can be overcome an create an almost cult following for the genre lol. Maximilian and Sajam are good people to look into if people just want to see fighters from a semi-casual perspective. With Sajam having a bunch of vids talking about the mentality of fighting games and the casual audience view of it. Since imagine you pick up any fighter just casue it looks cool. Then you immediately go online cause you wanna press buttons and do the cool flashy combos. Then you get destroyed and get discouraged and drop the game. Someone else however like with Poppt's mindset will figure out Why they lost and improve themselves. As someone who isn't social or confident the Fighting Game genre is a great place for me to work on building self confidence and making improvements compared to feeling stuck in life at work in retail pushing carts with no confidence to do or leave for anything else. Great video Poppt, I love seeing new people trying fighters and if you look into other Fighters like Killer Instinct, Skullgirls, Tekken7, DNF Duel, MvC3, P4UA I'll definately hang around in the stream chat giving out casual advice. Since all these games average level info just stays rent free in my head :P

Poppt1 first of all, you did it awesome. This was so inspiring. I like fighting games, but I'm not good at them, but this give me strength to never give up. Also I'm a recovering covid too. The part that I hate most about this sickness is that one of the lasting effects is depression and this influence in every aspect of your life, from school, job and even gaming (there were days that I didn't want to touch the control) but as you said, is when you need to exercise to free seratonin. Big hugs to you and I hope you get another chance later also I hope you get a total recover from covid.

This was awesome to see! As a Gold player I’m so impressed to see not only the growth but the levels of humility. Because of the ranking system in SFV it’s really common to reach a new rank and almost instantly be shot back down, it can be very discouraging. I found this after a friend got me into Street Fighter 6, and it was so cool seeing your struggles and triumphs in the early stages of learning SF 5 mirror many of my own with SF 6 (except for the tournament!). I'd love if you put out videos of you trying Street Fighter 6!

This is awesome to watch! I've played SF only a few times and it was pretty hard for me to even grasp what I needed to do. The most damage I could do was maybe 3 hits total of whatever moves could connect. But when it came to fighter games like Tekken and Mortal Kombat.....I was easily able to learn it and I can confidently say I am well above average and could argue that I can hold my own pretty well against pros and even win some matches. My main problem with SF is that it's like connecting one button input at a time as for the other fighters I play it's a whole sequence. Keep up the great content! Watching you learn actually helped me grasp a waaayyy better understanding of SF than I did before!

i loved that you played street fighter, fighting games are really fun to learn, i get that losing is stressful but winning is such a rush, pvp games are all like turn based, 1 person is allowed to have fun at the time

If it helps even a little bit poppt, when I went through playing multiple fighting games I found it was best to learn one combo at a time and implement those combos one at a time. Maybe that’s not the fastest way ever, but if you’re gonna be grinding this much I don’t think it’ll be much of an issue. That what I did for skullgirls, MK11, and Injustice 2

It's funny because I'm an intermidiate player and we have the same habits before the tourney and while games. I'm part of a dojo and we help a lot of newer players. It's good to see someone improve. This video was beyond awesome. I've played SF games for MANY years (used to play SF2 in the arcade, way back when...) - but only casual, against people I'd know. This video is giving me the urge to try and, actually, play and improve against real players! Loved this!

My first match in SF5 I was playing Karin against a ken who tried SO HARD to throw a fireball, but he just couldn't. I literally hit one jump-in into a basic tenko combo and then sat fullscreen letting him try his hardest to throw that damn fireball. I wonder were he is today. That Ken inspired me. Never give up boys.

That's great, I always see smash players just not caring about other fighting games, so when one of you goes in hard like this, it warms my heart. What's super interesting is that you're basically over the biggest hump, so now's the time when you can start trying a bunch of different fighting games and see which ones you like the most. You already have so much understanding of patience and match tension that you'd probably top 8 most of your local tournaments in a month if you put your heart in it. After my own recovery from Covid, I experienced the same thing as you. I couldn't focus on anything. It took me working out to be able to even do my job. Good advice there.

This is a really cool concept for a video, enjoyed a lot! I think you should do this with *Tekken* as well, that is my main fighting game and a lot of others. SV and Tekken are pretty equal in popularity as well *I believe* (could be wrong).

I literally just started playing street fighter 5 like 2 weeks ago, and i thought i absolutely sucked at the game, but this did make me feel quite a bit better! Also, the game will 100% drop inputs in lag, i thought the quarter circle moves and such were really hard to input, but it turns out that because of my friends terrible internet, the 'down' input of the quarter circle might get dropped, and ill end up doing no moves or the wrong move

Stellar. Positively stellar! The script is cohesive and eloquent. The narrative is compelling and emotional. The jokes are high-quality and wholesome. If I were to provide one area that could use improvement, I would suggest higher effort thumbnails. With a video that is as meticulously crafted as this, the thumbnails for this and past tryhard videos undersell it. Don’t be afraid to higher a digital artist or a professional of some sort. Thumbnails are one of the most critical features for getting clicks that are mostly overlooked.

You would love guilty gear strive, the characters are very fun and the game is a lot easier than most :)

SF has always been my favorite fighting game and I've been playing it since 2 first came to the US in arcades. It's the reason I got into video games at all so it always makes me super happy to see more people playing it and enjoying it. Keep up the great work with your content!

This was a great video, i hope more people see it and give fighting games more of a chance. They are def hard, harder if you like more niche titles and your pool of players is greatly reduced and learning them against people that is way better than you in everything is really quite tough and discourages a lot, but it can be done and have fun while at it. Also one tip before i go: watching back on your last matches it was clear that cammy was keeping distance from you so she would attack after you fireball, when something like that happens try to think to yourself, what is the opponent trying to do? how can they win from this situation? do they have surplus of HP and wait for time? are they at deficit? if so how are they planning on changing it? they cant just sit and wait it out. Also i think by that time you should have already noticed that cammy tends to have more than one way to approach and avoid projectiles at the same time

That's actually really impressive. You usually don't see that kind of talent around there. You are definitely a gifted gamer. I'm not as gifted so it takes longer for me to learn and you inspired me even more to get better. I adapt differently and learn differently so it's possible for me to still get better at it. I just learn my own way then demonstrate what I learned. It only took me a day to improve in Streetfighter 4 because I knew how to do the ultra and super combo.
