Wow I really I really like this video so much it’s so informative for someone who is doing undergrad but wants to become a lecturer thank you so much …I’m glad I don’t have to go all the way to Phd before I can achieve my dream … So I’m currently enrolled for a diploma in transport management /Transport and supply chain management at the University of Johannesburg … What subjects /modules will I be able to lecturer after completing my diploma then Adv diploma in Tvet? ❤
Hi Yondela I hope you’re good I met with a student advisor from Stadio.. they suggested PGCE and further education training vs the advance diploma cause they say I can fit in both high school and the TVET space cause the diploma will limit me and what if I don’t get lucky at the TVet at least i can get accepted in high school
That’s true it will limit you however with the growing number of people doing the advanced dip they will get preference at colleges because they have specialised whereas a pgce will expose you to the school curriculum and policies
Hi there often TVET colleges prefer that a person can teach more than one subject, however you can contact one of the institutions they will check your final year majors that will determine what you can teach
If you are a a qualified teacher, SACE registered you are good to go 😊…..you will be perfect in NCV for maths and engineering related studies. Just look out for posts on info desk or the websites of your preferred TVET.
Hi Mam, I have been applying jobs at TVET colleges for over 5 years. I have been a lecturer at private colleges for over 7 years, have an undergraduate qualification as well as my PGCE, still nothing, any advice or assistance ?
Hi Nthabiseng, I would advise that you try getting in through part time. Often people start off as part time lecturer, build relations within so that you can be recommended when there are vacancies. Colleges have been going through restructuring which resulted to posts being on hold etc. College employees being moved to persal and adapting the organisational structure as prescribed by DHET. I hope you find something soon.

Hi there i've a Diploma in IT NQF level 6 (240 Credits)which i aquired at Richfield Graduate Institute of Tech with an Average of 65% .. is it possible for me to for me to do an Advance Diploma in TVT or it's only limited to 340 Credits and higher?..or what advice can you give?
It’s 360 credits however enquire let them look at your qualifications take from there…. Check with STADIO I believe they are more effective than the public universities

Hi there, it depends where you want to lecture. For universities you must atleast be registered for a masters and for tvet it’s a degree in education, PGCE or advanced dip in TVET. I think you can start off as a tvet lecturer and work your way up.

I studied travel and tourism at Varsity College i do have industry knowledge and experience of about 10+ I decided to further my studies and I am currently doing my last year in BcomHRM through Mancosa and my major has been business management from 1st year till 3rd year.. when I do my PGCE or advance diploma in TVet which subject would be chosen for me to do?
Hi you have so much to offer to the TVET space 😅, you will definitely fit into business man, travel and tourism, HR, management practice, office prac etc m. You will have to choose what exactly you want to major in however when applying for jobs you can lecture in most programmes of business studies. I would highly recommend the Adv Dip in TVET teaching.

Hi Nombuso, you qualify just need to look out for tvet jobs and apply. Check on LinkedIn, also if you search on the internet TVET lecturing jobs different colleges will pop up. All the best
Hi, you must first get your diploma to enroll for an advanced diploma. You can’t apply with N6. You can study through CPUT, Nelson Mandela University, WITS Uni, STADIO private institution
Hello i have a Bachelor Degree in Education Senior and FET phase specialized with Financial accounting and Business Management. I did Higher certificate in Office Administration in Tvet college and i am currently an Administration clerk at a private industry, do i need to do advance diploma or can i apply using my undergraduate degree?

I am unsure if TVETS have journalism qualification, however the subjects you teach are determined by the modules you majored with in your final year. It's always best to speak to a student advisor at any of the institutions offering ADV DIP IN TVT, they will tell you where you will fit in...

Specifically for the advanced dip in tvet teaching you can apply, for others it depends on the requirement often students are required to do advanced certificate before the advanced diploma.

I believe in building relationships with people in the field, honestly recommendations work best. However you can contact Tvets HR offices and ask to be added to their database. Also check DPSA. If you can get a part time or substitute post take that and work your way to permanency
Yep you can become a lecturer, just study the advanced diploma in gvt teaching. Engineering and business studies remain popular at tvets so those programmes often have jobs

Hi which other modules did you do in your final year? They will determine which modules you teach. Business studies programmes have management communications, you can teach English first add as well
