Nice to have in cool weather and it's a lot of motorcycle for the money. Honda dealers near me don't want to work on those so I found an 1800. Heavy motorcycle to move by hand!
Reality check....without preventative maintenance being addressed very soon, every breakdown with this bike will be a catastrophic failure. PRIORITY 1: With a bike this old and with that many miles the rubber timing belts and idler pulleys(dried out bearings) need to be changed ASAP. If they even as much as slip a few teeth, the pistons will destroy the valves and vise versa, thus destroying the engine. The belts and idler pulleys are just too inexpensive to be taking that chance(caution: timing belts are not a DIY). Priority 2: Also, replace the clutch slave seals. If brake fluid gets into the engine you'll spin all your bearings on the crank and cams. Bad, bad, bad! In fact, everything made of rubber needs to be replaced. Rubber doesn't age well at all. That's if you want to keep the gremlins away. It's true that the bike will go 300,000 miles, but not without a lot of mechanical upkeep. As the bike ages, and the miles go up, the more often it's gonna need attention. For example: coolant flushes(must use Honda coolant only) are going to need to be more frequent, and so will oil changes. That's if you want it to get to 300,000 miles. Your bike is at the "age" and miles where a lot needs to be replaced. Get yourself a service manual for this bike. Trust me, you're gonna need it. In reality.... you bought an expensive project bike. Believe me, it's a labor of love! Finally, on a positive note. The reward for all of your diligent work on this bike could very possibly get it to a half million miles and beyond. Happy riding!
Hey bikerbabeBeth, a fellow winger here. I got me a 92 gl1500 with only 55k. Thats my first bike. I just got my endorsement. Looking forward to future videos. Stay safe and ride on.
The Cadillac of motorcycles…Congratulations 🎉 You are going to be spoiled now. Remember to get the motodad kit with it…hawaiana shirt, light stone wash jeans and a pair of New Balance sneakers.
@@docsridingadventures2880 I Kinda thought "Blanche" was fitting since she was a ballsy old girl and Beth on a Goldwing that takes em', a big step up from the 883. Actually, Beth reminds me of the Character of Blanche she can be refined and dignified yet has no problem with getting down and dirty.
I had a white 97 Goldwing and I put 47k on it. Dropped it twice in the yard because of soft grass wile washing it. But with the crash bars it was easy to get it upright. Great bike ....so smooth and easy to ride for miles and miles. I miss it. It was called "Great White"
She’s a beaut!! Goldwing has and always will be my dream bike. I’ve ridden alot of them including the F6B back when it was brand new in 2013. Reliability and riding at its finest. I’ll have mine someday. Peace out and ride on lass!!
Ones a goldwing owner its rear anyone goes backwards to anything else . besides another wing. I had several . I never regretted one I had I all the ones I had is the gl1800 even to this day I have a 2020 1833. Enjoy it ride it and have lots of rides on it.😊
I saw this at BRO! I didn't get a good look at it though. So friggen cool! "Boatorcycle" HAHA! So great. I can't wait to see you shoot some videos on this bike and the adventures you have with it. Congrats Beth! Ambrosia and Alfredo names are funny. You'll find out what her name is eventually.
Welcome to the Wing family. That ol girl will get you a 1/2 million miles if it's taken care of My 1997 SE 1500 I changed timing belts on every 50k miles. Those are great bikes smooth as glass and handles like a much lighter motorcycle. I have a 2018 DCT now and I love it as much as my 1500. I named mine Brandy because "She is a fine girl" Enjoy the Wing Ride it like you stole it but be safe
these are awesome machines. they can literally go forever and as dependable as a light switch. i had a '93 for over 20 yrs that i just sold. i now have a 2022.
I recently picked up a 98 SE and I have put over 1400 miles onit in just over a month! I purchased gold lightning bolt decals to put on it and it has been named by my viewers Lightning McWing... unfortunately Kachow wasn't available as a license plate... but still it is an awesome bike and only had 34k miles on it when I got it. enjoy that Honda, I am still a Harley guy, but there is just something about that old Goldwing
I've had mine for several years and 10's of thousands of miles and love it. Just make sure to change the timing belts. Would hate to have a nice bike like that get damaged because of timing belts. Happy riding.
Ok my last suggestion and my personal favorite... Samurai Sam!.... Samurai for Japanese warrior and Sam after uncle Sam.. A symbol of American patriotism 🤗👍... Love the channel and all the best with the new Machine... Harry
How about “cracker bag” name lol. I’ve had a 92 for a couple months. Get a fork brace from Sabre Cycle. It helps the handling a lot. Also get the timing belt changed right now or sooner. I really like mine. Be safe, rubber side down- shiny side up. Nice bike.
I like the aforementioned ‘Falcor’ (it makes me think of H2W’s ‘Appa’). But if you wanted to follow your B3 naming, then maybe ‘Big Bagger Bertha’ or something to that effect. BTW, I think for me anyway, this may be one of your better videos. Looking forward to you BRO video.
dude did you like already watch my BRO video, I haven’t even edited it yet… BUT you managed to pick the name I ended up naming her!? Excited to share the content. The fact you guessed her new name. You are amazing!!
Your going to be in heaven on a Wing!! The 90’s wings are the sexiest looking bikes in my opinion. And I Own a 2008 fuel injection 1800. Be safe!! 💫⭐️😊👍🏻🇺🇸 Hoosier Wing!!
It was great to meet you at Babes, I was looking for Odessa so i could find you and you surprised me bu not having her there. Enjoy your new ride and many miles on her.
That's awesome 😎🔥🏍️✌️ Have fun on that bagger. Yep needs a good name. Ps My bro had a 1983 1100 Goldwing aspencade which was great. He just called it fatty lol
grats girl. this mean you will be riding it to the FA campouts too? for names, Alabaster Glide? Cool Whip Glide? Snow White Glide? StayPuff Glide? Paper Plate Glide? Scar Face Glide? Powder Glide? ...kk thats all i got lol. it looks like its in good shape. when was the timing belt changed?/ how old is it? that is very important with those bikes. if it breaks it will smoke the engine. good vid
