His videos are insightful that's the most important thing. Coffeeezilla is a joker if he thinks it's easy to cut and join videos, write scripts and put out videos every other day. His criticism is QUITE constructive but he's acting overtly righteous and rubbishing someone's else work as if his video is not just about sitting behind camera and repeating the criticisms other people have said about Jake Tran/others. Jake Tran never claimed to be Jesus he's just making research and putting out there

Most likely he’s getting paid from users signing up and spending money with the sponsor, and in the case with the NFT’s he was an initial investor so he got paid when his subscribers bought the NFT’s at a premium, so yes he is taking money from his viewers, probably more so than from the sponsors.

My father just like Jake Tran’s parent came here because of the Vietnam war. My dad always tells me that he crosse the Pacific Ocean on a fishing so that I had opportunities here in Canada. He certainly did not come to Canada so that I become a scammer like JT. If he’d knew that I became a scammer, he would have stayed in Vietnam.

Really though, as an old school JT subscriber, it has never been about “exposing bad business practices”. It has always been about learning about them, so that: 1) you don’t get scammed yourself; 2) you understand the leverage in various power dynamics. He just started the whole “exposed” thing trying to appeal to the greater masses. That being said, I would appreciate if he brought back his own voice-over and the higher quality research. It’s also entirely possible that the dude is just making much more money off another source, so he isn’t even focused on RU-vid as much at this point.

Jake's usage of Machiavelli's quote is off the mark. Machiavelli simply indicated that a person becomes evil no matter what if they spend their time more with evil people. Jake exposing the evil corporations definitely won't make him evil, but him associating himself with the evil people will.

I remember first finding his channel several years ago and something about his videos seemed off from reality. I checked and his sources are questionable. I genuinely believe a lot of the books he references are aren't true or aren't a good way of viewing the situations being talked about

I find it hard to be surprised by Jake's mindset: He clearly states himself as a capitalist. Advertising scams after a video warning of said scam is like a test after class: Those who were capable/attentive enough stayed away, and the rest who didn't make the cut got fed on by the "better people" (in a capitalist view). He's teaching exploitation by a) showing how others did it and b) his own example. And if you can follow his lessons, it makes you more resilient in a world where your money is constantly being preyed on (the effect he promises) - at the cost of the ones who didn't manage it. Very capitalist, very on-brand. Not exactly a secret.

I watched a few of his videos but got too skeeved off, I genuinely did feel there was something off. Kind of like how SunnyV2's essays always seemed to revolve around relevancy as the ultimate arbiter of creator's worth, Jake Tran's videos never seemed to touch base with the human cost of scamming

Well, he started out making videos about how to become something morally questionable but very profitable like how to become an arms dealer or bank owner, but recently his videos have been more about exposing businesses which is fine, but just not what I and many other fans loved about him. So I get why you'd think it was a channel about exposing big biz
