This is an inexpensive solution for keeping your tools in your tool boxes and having a camper top while making them accessible. It provides an option to remove the boxes completely along with giving you additional work surfaces. Cost was under $30 compared to hundreds for a bed slider that is fixed to your bed.

There are ways to improve it but the basic idea works pretty good

Genius! I’m doing this on my harbor freight 4x8 enclosed utility/tool trailer exterior spayed rhino liner and it’s not tall enough to climb in so I’ll now be able to slide my work stations and tool out. Great idea thanks for sharing!!

On the tailgate side legs, you could bolt a round steel pipe between them and then carve out a half round groove in the bottom of each side of the frame where they fold back up. Then you would have more stability and be able to pull the back legs down as one piece.

This is true, great idea. to add to that, a strap attached to that pipe would aid in pulling it down.

great idea , just maybe a safety lock position on the legs , because if there's heavy load in it just wondering if safe? I have a simple slider I made. I just used plastic decking frame and mounted heavy duty wheels on the decking frame. It just lays there not screwed into truck bed. It can just slide out the plywood which I reinforced with 1x3 on the sides. Your leg 💡 idea is valuable, I may have to try it... The advantage is you not only can load and unload, but you have a work table with you when ever you need. A manufactured version will work also , I think all they need to do is make the legs go up and down, depending on the tailgate height of various trucks. Be on the look out I think some company gonna patent it 💰

hey was it as easy rolling in an out after the weight of accessories or tools loaded in boxes?
@CamoMatrix
@CamoMatrix 4 года назад
it depends on the weight location. Because it slides out completely with no anchor, it can take some muscle but not to bad. Mostly I slide it out, prop the legs out on one end and leave it on the truck.
